The Great Medical Saint -
Chapter 130
"You know the Serpent's Strike?" A hint of surprise crossed lan's eyes. "You're quite knowledgeable. Still, a loser like you isn't worth my time. You've messed with the wrong person. You won't get off lightly today!" lan grinned, resembling a tiger that was ready to devour its prey.
Anger flared in Matthew's eyes. Ian's threat did anger him, but he was even more furious about something more significant.
"Ancient martial artists aren't allowed to attack ordinary people without cause. Aren't you afraid of going against the rules?"
"Afraid?" lan closed in on Matthew. He continued nonchalantly, "Why should I be? The one who set the rules is long dead. No one cares about the rules anymore."
As he spoke, he suddenly lunged at Matthew, aiming his middle knuckle at Matthew's eyes.
Matthew's eyes glinted. He'd likely end up blind if lan's punch got him in the eye. lan was undeniably ruthless.
The fist was about to land on Matthew's face when his leg shot out, delivering a kick to lan's stomach. A loud, dull noise sounded.
lan was instantly sent flying three yards away at a speed even faster than when he charged at Matthew earlier. He collapsed to the ground with a deafening thud, sending a cloud of dust scattering in the air.
The five men behind him gaped at the sight before them. They were aware of how formidable lan was, having previously ended a civilian with just a single punch. Little did they expect him to be kicked away with just one move. They all stood frozen in their spots, unsure of what they should do next.
Jeffrey was seated in his car, eager to witness Matthew being beaten to a pulp.
But... Why was lan propelled into the air instead? How could this be?
Flabbergasted, lan gaped at Matthew. Disbelief filled his eyes as he sputtered, "How... How is this possible? You defeated me in one move. Are you an ancient martial artist as well?"
"Who sent you?" Matthew deflected.
Gritting his teeth, lan hauled himself back to his feet.
"I wasn't going to kill you, but I've changed my mind. I was careless earlier. So what if you're an ancient martial artist? I could still defeat you in one move!"
lan had extensive combat experience, thanks to his numerous fights in the arena. He was confident that he could take Matthew down once he slipped up.
Sensing that lan was about to strike again, Matthew stared at him and remained rooted in place.
lan assumed Matthew's unmoving stance to be a sitting duck waiting to be struck.
Seeing that Matthew was only a yard away from him, he aimed his right fist, at Matthew's eyes. Halfway through his attack, he abruptly withdrew his fist and swung his left fist at Matthew instead.
Just as his punch was two inches away from Matthew's temple, Matthew suddenly shifted.
lan was once again sent flying across the basement. When he collapsed his chest was visibly punctured by a fraction of his sternum. Blood gushed out of Kis wound, staining his clothes red in mere seconds.
Horrified, lan stared at Matthew. "What... What level are you at? W-Why are you so strong?"
Matthew shook his head. "Strong? I don't think so. I'm just an ordinary person. You're just too weak."
"Why, you!"
Blood trickled down lan's lips as he burst into a fit of rage. He knew he was far from an amateur, but Matthew was way beyond his level.
"I'm no match for you, let alone those five men behind me. Just leave. We'll end things here right now."
End things? Matthew sauntered up to lan. "Your opinion doesn't matter. However, mine does.
"Tell me, who sent you? Where is he?"
Matthew continued, "Of course, you
can choose to remain silent. You struck me twice earlier. If you still refuse to say anything, I will punch
you just once. I won't question you anymore if you can withstand it."
