The Great Medical Saint -
Chapter 311
After Matthew took off, several more cars showed up.
Andrew got out of the car. Seeing that Hayden was reaching the entrance, he quickly caught up. "I'll lead the way. I know the chauffeur."
Meanwhile, a car weaved through the traffic at high speed. Rachel glanced at her watch nervously. "We might be late, but maybe drive a bit slower for safety."
"Okay," Matthew responded and slowed down the car.
Then, Rachel's phone suddenly started ringing. Rachel picked up the call. After a while, her face fell. "Head back immediately. Something happened at the company. Turn around right now."
Matthew knitted his brows together. "Is it that important?"
School was about to end for Lorraine, so Matthew would rather not turn back now.
Rachel knew what was going through Matthew's mind. "It's urgent because the company's been trashed. I have a suggestion. I'll take a cab to pick up Lorraine at school, and you deal with the situation at the company."
Did someone make a scene at the company? Matthew recalled the guy who bumped into him and acted arrogantly at the entrance of Wealthwave Group.
Matthew pulled over and instructed Rachel, "If anything comes up when you pick up Lorraine, have the school call me or my parents."
With a worried expression, Rachel stepped out of the car. "Hurry up and return to the company. I'll take care of picking up Lorraine."
Matthew hummed in acknowledgment before turning the car around and rushing back.
When Matthew arrived at the entrance of Wealthwave Group, he found several security guards at the door badly hurt and bleeding. They were sprawled on the ground, groaning in pain. "Who did this? Where did they go?"
A security guard pressed his hand against his wound and replied, "I think they went to the top floor."
The top floor? Were they looking for trouble with Rachel? Matthew darted into an elevator and made his way to the top floor.
Upon exiting the elevator, Matthew
saw two security guards lying on the floor in the hallway. Then, he heard a commotion inside Rachel's office As Matthew approached the door, he saw a group of people in the office.
In the middle of the crowd, Brendon was on the floor holding his chest. His face contorted in agony as if he was fighting intense pain.
In the background, Tracy was trying to explain something. "The chauffeur you're talking about has left. He was fired, and I have no idea where he went."
How could she not know? Hayden
flashed her a wicked grin. "Are you
so adamant about protecting a chauffeur, huh? Can you actually keep him safe? Just spill the beans, and leave you alone. If not, don't
blame me for what comes next."
As Hayden was talking, he slowly moved toward Tracy.
"Stop right there!" Matthew yelled. "Are you looking for me?"
Hayden turned his head and was surprised to see Matthew. "I bumped into you at the door earlier and let it slip. Are you asking for trouble now?"
A little while ago, Hayden scolded Matthew right outside the building, and Matthew ran off scared. He didn't beat Matthew up just now, but Matthew actually came back.
Seeing Matthew, Brendon warned, "Why'd you come back? You'd better get out of here now."
Matthew coldly responded, "Why should I run? I'm here to deal with them."
Brendon shook his head. "Stop acting tough. You were too scared to fight me downstairs just now. If you can't handle me, you can't take them on. They are martial artists. Get out of here."
In the middle of the crowd, Andrew
stood on his toes to get a better view. Upon spotting Matthew, he urgently shouted at Hayden, "That's the chauffeur! He's the one who bullied my sister on the rooftop. Make him pay."
