The Great Medical Saint -
Chapter 313
Did Matthew call Hayden a disappointment? Hayden raised an eyebrow.
As a martial artist from the Hobbes family, he'd been basking in glory his entire life. When Hayden showed up at Lambda City, no martial arts family dared to disrespect him.
However, he never would have thought that a mere chauffeur could defeat him. The humiliation nearly drove him insane.
"You're nothing but a lowly chauffeur. How dare you raise your hand at me? You just got yourself in hot water, and you're done for."
Matthew immediately slapped Hayden in the face. With a loud smack, Hayden was sent tumbling more than six feet away. After crashing to the floor, he lay there motionlessly for a while.
After what felt like forever, Hayden groaned in pain and sat up. When he saw Matthew walking toward him, he scrambled backward in fear and pleaded loudly, "Stay away! I'm part of the Hobbes family. If I get hurt, they'll come for you." Matthew coldly remarked, "I don't care which family you belong to. I've got to teach you a lesson first."
After saying that, Matthew started kicking Hayden like crazy. In no time, Hayden had suffered a lot of blows, and Matthew only stopped when Hayden was knocked out.
Matthew then turned to Andrew, who was so terrified that he ran away without saying a single word.
A murderous intent raged inside Matthew's eyes. With a grim expression, he gazed at the defeated opponents on the floor.
Should Matthew kill them or spare them? He was inside the Wealthwave Group building. If someone died here, it'd cause trouble for Rachel.
After a moment of contemplation, Matthew gave up the idea of eradicating them and snapped, "Scram. I'll count to three, and whoever doesn't leave will never get out of this place."
The martial artists were groaning on the floor. Upon hearing Matthew's words, they clenched their teeth and got up. Then, they exchanged a few glances and carried Hayden out. Brendon watched the event unfold and felt disappointed. "Letting them go means more problems down the road."
Matthew couldn't care less. "They are just a bunch of trash. What can they do?"
Brendon thought about it and realized Matthew was right. While they spelled trouble for Brendon, these people didn't pose any danger to Matthew at all.
Brendon got curious about Matthew's background. He refused to believe that Matthew was just a chauffeur.
"Mr. Grant. You must be a martial artist too, right?"
Matthew approached Brendon and inspected his injury. "Stop talking. You're hurt pretty badly. The less you talk, the faster you'll heal."
Noticing that Matthew didn't want to talk about it, Brendon stopped prying further.
Tracy stayed close to Matthew. The more she spent time with him, the more mysterious he became. She was drawn to martial arts, but not everyone had a chance to get into this mysterious circle.
Tracy was into kickboxing and ancient martial arts, and she had trained with some coaches. Thus, she could handle herself pretty well in a fight.
When Tracy compared herself to Matthew, she felt like a total beginner. She thought about asking him to be his mentor but didn't dare to.
Matthew performed some first aid for Brendon. "I'll give you some medicine to speed up the healing. Just take a few doses, and you'll be back on your feet in two weeks."
Brendon wasn't worried about his
injuries. Instead, all he could think of was to build a rapport with Matthew.
"I'm sticking with you from now on, Mr. Grant. Please look out for me."
Matthew shook his head. "Like I said earlier, I'm not your captain or anyone else's."
Brendon beamed. "I'm still on probation. Honestly, my skills are nowhere good enough. Until we get a new bodyguard captain, you're stuck with me."
Matthew thought about it. "If there's anything, I can help."
After chatting for a bit, Matthew parted ways with Brendon and headed to the elevator. When the elevator door was about to close, a smalt hand with red nails slipped in, and the doors reopened.
Tracy entered the elevator. "I'm done for the day. Where are you going? Can you give me a ride?"
Did Tracy just ask Matthew to drop her off somewhere?
Matthew shook his head. "I'm heading back now. It's really inconvenient for me to fetch you." Matthew didn't even seem to hesitate before rejecting Tracy.
