Finally, the bell rings indicating the end of the school day, as Chloe looks over to Nicki who is excitedly packing her books into her froggy bag.

“Come on, we need to head back up to the dorm and get ready for your date.” Chloe grined at her best friend.

Nicki stills momentarily, taking a breath, excitement changing to gut wrenching nervousness.

“Hey, there is no pressure, if you are not ready for this, just tell Josh he will understand.” Chloe whispered softly to Nicki.

“I am ready, it is just, well, hard to explain,” Nicki sighed.

“I just wish you could be with me.” She continued, looking at Chloe, wishing she had more of her ‘couldn’t give a s**t’ attitude.

“Eww, no, really don’t want to witness live porn” Chloe laughed out.

Nicki began to giggle, shaking her head, as the pair of girls made their way back to the dorm.

“You go shower first, Nicki.” Chloe smiled.

“What are you doing tonight?” Nicki asked, as she gathered her fresh new underwear and dress that Chloe had insisted she wear, taking it into the bathroom.

“Zander is taking me on a date” Chloe smiled, suppressing the small giggle that was threatening to escape her lips. .

“Bet you go in jeans rather than a dress.” Nicki huffed slightly, still feeling the dress Chloe was insisting she wear was a little over done for a meal out with Josh, before they cemented their relationship, even more so than the ring on her finger.

“If it will make you feel better, I will wear that black number I bought with you and your mum.” Chloe grinned, pleased she had the perfect reason to get dressed up ready for Nicki’s birthday and now also her engagement party, without spoiling the surprise.

Nicki nodded, and headed into the bathroom. As Chloe heard the water from the shower begin, she quickly picked up her phone.

“Hey Josh, she is getting ready. She still has not a clue about the party. We will be about an hour,” Chloe informed him.

“Is she okay?” he asked, filled with concern for his mate. He knew tonight was a big deal for her, and he was hoping she was not stressing out too much about it.

“Nervous, but I told her if she is not ready you will understand.” Chloe reassured him.

“Thank you. See you in an hour.” Josh hung up the phone, it was true he would wait for his mate to be ready, but he was really hoping he did not have to.

As Chloe looked at her appearance in the mirror she twirled around. Wearing dresses was not her thing, but she was happy with the tight black dress that clung to every curve, landing just above her knee. Her long black and purple hair hung straight down her back, a small amount of make-up adorned her beautiful face. She had even put on a pair of evil heels, although walking in them was turning into a challenge, and she could not understand why girls insisted on torturing their feet like this, day in and day out.

Chloe turned around and looked at Nicki, nodding in appreciation. The red dress looked amazing on her. She had styled her long brown hair with waves that loosely hung over one shoulder.

“Ready?” Chloe asked with a smile, excitement growing for her friend.

Nicki let out a nervous breath and simply nodded in response.

Josh stood beside his range rover, waiting anxiously for Nicki to arrive. As she walked out of the school doors, he felt like some one had sucker punched him. She looked so beautiful, she always did to him, but tonight she was spectacular. His own nervousness began to nip at his stomach, as he gathered her into his arms and nuzzled at her neck, taking in her scent of vanilla and strawberries, allowing it to calm him.

“You are so beautiful little froggy.” Josh breathed into her ear.

Nicki smiled, taking a step back to see her mate wearing black dress trousers with a grey button-down shirt, sleeves rolled up to the elbows, her heart racing in her chest.

“You are not so bad yourself.” Nicki grinned up at him, her cheeks turning pink, as a flush of embarrassment washed over her.

Chloe stood back, watching her friend and mate, a smile on her face, she let out a contented sigh, happy for the pair of them that their time was here, even if she did have to wait for her own time to come.

As they pulled up to the pack house, Josh looked at Chloe, who got out of the car and ran towards a waiting Zander. He looked so handsome, wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, with a light blue button-down shirt. The sleeves, like his brother’s, rolled to the elbow, showcasing his strong muscular forearms. Just looking at him caused her arousal to spike as he grinned, and sniffed the air slightly, and gave her a knowing wink.

“Wow princess, you look amazing.” He complimented her, this was the first time he had seen her wear a dress, and as much as he loved her normal style, he could not help but appreciate the skin-tight, figure-hugging dress that showcased her every curve to perfection. His length twitched in his pants, as it saluted his perfect mate.

“I just need to grab something in the living room, Nicki.” Josh said, as Chloe and Zander made their way to join the other guests.

Taking hold of Nicki’s hand, he led her into the living room.

“SURPRISE” echoed around the room from the pack members. Every one had been invited, even those from the Silverback pack. Nicki’s hand went to her chest in shock.

“What? How?” she stammered, looking around the room that was filled with banners, silver balloons with 18 and congratulations written on them in pink, the DJ in the corner, began to play “ Happy Birthday” and the guests all serenaded her.

Long tables covered the back wall, filled with a cold buffet. Chloe and Zander had insisted that everyone served themselves, so the Omega’s could enjoy the festivities. Nicki looked around at Josh.

“Did you know?” she asked, flabergasted.

Josh grinned down at her, nodding. Then Cheryl approached her daughter, a smile on her face.

“Happy birthday my beautiful daughter. I know you could not have many celebrations or parties growing up, so with the help of Chloe and Lacey we thought you might like one now.” Cheryl smiled

“Thank you Mum, really, thank you.” Nicki said, wiping a stray tear from her eye.

Turning to see Chloe standing with Zander, Lacey and Robin, Nicki walked over to them squealing with delight.

The girls all hugged together, as Nicki thanked them repeatedly.

Ellie stood beside the luna’s and beta female, hopping from foot to foot. Nicki looked down at her with a wide smile.

“Luna, come see your cake, I made it. With mum’s help, of course, but I did most of the work.” She grinned happily.

Nicki walked over to the table that had a four-tiered cake standing on the top tier were two frogs, obviously one was her, and one Josh. Green lily pads in fondant icing adorned the sides, it was a work of art.

“Wow, you are so talented Ellie.” Nicki grinned at her appreciatively.

“The bottom tier is raspberry and white chocolate, the second, lemon drizzle, the third chocolate, and the top tier is strawberry and vanilla”, Ellie informed her proudly.

“It is amazing” Nicki smiled, still in shock.

The music began to blast out, as the pack members all wished Nicki happy birthday, and then congratulated her and Josh on their engagement. Slowly, the make-shift dance floor began to fill up, as Ethan grabbed Ellie and started to dance, thinking he was a h*p hop star as he bumped and grinded against her.

Josh grabbed Nicki, and the pair of them began to dance together, as Chloe made her way to the buffet table with Zander.

“She looks so happy,” Chloe whispered proudly.

“She hasn’t noticed her mother’s montage of embarrassing pictures yet.” Zander chuckled, placing a k**s on his mate’s neck, as her body shivered in response. Wrapping his arms around her waist, Zander leaned into her.

“Hey, it will be our turn soon enough,” he whispered.

The past few weeks had been hard on both of them, not able to show their love for each other physically, for fear of slipping up again.

Chloe sighed, and nodded.

“I know, just think we have it all to look forward to.” She grinned up at him, taking her hand and stroking the scruff on his jaw.

“Dance with me” Zander whispered gruffly in her ear, taking the plate of food from her hand and placing it on the table, then with his hand on the small of her back, he led her to the dance floor.

As Zander wrapped his arms around her waist, Chloe was consumed with sparks, her breathing turning to soft pants, as they pressed up against each other, swaying to the music. Chloe could feel his hard e******n against her as he pressed further into her, letting out a soft m**n. She pushed her h**s forward, as she felt the build up in her core. Zander g*****d, his hand moving up to her hair and stroking it as he looked deep into her piercing blue eyes.

“I love you too.” Chloe gave him a soft smile, as his lips found hers, sparks exploding throughout her body, as she melted into his k**s, the world around them disappearing.

Josh sniffed Nicki’s neck, then began to place soft k****s on the spot where she would very soon bare his mark. Nicki let out a breath as she started to feel overwhelmed with need. All the anxiousness about what they would do later left her as she enjoyed the feeling of her mate’s lips on her marking spot.

“Eww get a room” Kris quipped as he danced with a girl from silverback next to Nicki and Josh.

Without breaking from kissing his beautiful mate’s neck, Josh flipped him the bird as Kris burst out laughing.

Gavin led an embarrassed Amy to the dancefloor. She was more than a little out of her comfort zone. She had never danced at a party before, in her old pack she had only been there to serve, not to enjoy herself or dance. She looked up at Gav, she could not fathom why the most handsome man in the world wanted to spend time with her, to dance with her, why he showered her with affection. She let out a sigh, she could not allow herself to give in to the feelings that were starting to take hold of her, knowing only too well, that omegas like her would be used by unmated ranking wolves just for their pleasure and needs, and she was not going to fall into that trap, no matter how much she enjoyed Gavin’s company. Amy was determined to wait for her mate, even for her first k**s, and was truly thankful that the law stopped her from engaging in any s****l activity until she was 16, because this man had her stomach in all sorts of knots, but she would wait until she was 18 and found her destined one, so gently pushed him away and walked over to the buffet table, determined not to get too attached to him.

“Ouch feel the burn” Kris laughed at Gav, as he pouted, desperate to be close to his mate, then went and took a seat with Liam before he ripped Kris’s insensitive head off, and destroyed 18 years of friendship.

Liam looked at his friend, and gave him a sad smile.

“One day, it will all come good Gav, and ignore Kris, it will come back to him, in spades full, of that you can be sure.” Gav nodded his head, thankful that Liam was being considerate for once, rather than following where Kris led.

Nicki and Josh were lost in each other, as Chloe and Zander approached them.

“So we have you guys another surprise.” Zander grinned at his younger brother.

Nicki looked at Chloe wide-eyed, as she smiled at her.

“So, once you have looked at the montage your mum lovingly made, we have all of your things packed into Joshua’s car, and you have a hotel reservation, for tonight, before you head off on your… not sure what to call it, but week of mating.” Chloe giggled, as Nicki blushed as red as her dress.

Taking her friend’s hand, Chloe led her to the wall of pictures, and Nicki stood looking. She began to laugh as Cheryl walked over.

“This is awesome mum, thank you.” Nicki giggled, then pointed to the picture of her kissing a frog.

“I remember that day, I was so upset that it didn’t turn into a handsome prince.” Nicki laughed, as Josh came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist.

“I am very glad it didn’t.” he chuckled in her ear.

“Yes, so am I now. I have all I need.” Nicki smiled.

Gathering his mate up into his arms, and carrying her bridal style.

“Time to go little froggy, shout your goodbyes.” He grinned, as much as he had loved the party, he was desperate to have his mate to himself.

Nicki giggled, then waved good bye to everyone, as Josh led her out of the pack house.

Chloe, Zander, Robin and Lacey stood on the top step, all waving them off, as Zander placed his arm around Chloe’s shoulder.

“Soon, princess” he whispered as he pulled her into his chest.

“I know, and it will be worth the wait, and all the pressure.” Chloe smiled up at him, as the black range rover disappeared into the distance, as her mind wandered to what it will be like when they could finally mate and mark each other.
