The Headmaster Alpha's Mate
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 60

Nicki and Lacey all stood in the small boutique dress shop, listening to Chloe grumble slightly that she could not find a highly unusual dress to wear for her Luna Ceremony. Nicki rolled her lips to Lacey in an attempt to stop herself from laughing.

“How much do you want to bet she adds safety pins and rips to the dress?” Nicki giggled.

“Oh, I think that will be a given.” Lacey laughed, shaking her head.

“Okay, we have it on. Now, Luna, if you go outside, you can see just how perfect this is for you in the room of mirrors.” The boutique owner smiled at her.

As Chloe walked out of the changing room, both Nicki and Lacey gasped at her. The gown was never something they thought Chloe would wear but suited her perfectly.

“Wow you look beautiful!” Lacey exclaimed.

Nicki stood looking at Chloe, her mouth open. Never had she seen her best friend dressed in anything like it. She looked perfect, and she hoped that Chloe would not rip holes in the dress and add safety pins to it.

Chloe did not hold out much hope she would like the dress, but the boutique owner, who went by the name of Madam Chanelle, but certainly did not sound French with her thick Scottish accent, insisted that she trust her and try on the gown, one she felt was perfect for her. As she entered the mirror room, fully prepared to hate the dress, but when she caught the site of her reflection her heart stopped momentarily.

The silver dress was covered in small beads and sequence, the sleeveless shoulder dipped into a V neck, the dress hugged her body down to her thighs, where the fabric became translucent with a beaded fringe over the top falling to her ankles. Chloe blinked away the tears that were forming in her eyes, because in the reflection stood her mother the queen. Chloe had heard Zander say many times she was like her birth mother, but never since the 1980’s picture of her had Chloe realized that she was in fact her double.

“Chloe, it is stunning, you are breath taking.” Lacey breathed, placing her hand on her heart.

“Turn around and take a look at the back. It is sexy yet classy, and the detail is exquisite.” Nicki encouraged.

Chloe spun round slightly, seeing that the fabric also fell to a V at the back, then as it reached to a point at her waist a trio of small buttons held the dress in place. The dress reminded Chloe of the silver sheen that covered Sheba’s fur, and she was stunned, it was absolutely perfect. Handing Chloe a pair of light purple sparkly shoes that seemed to dance in the lights’ reflection.

“Aye, this is the one.” Madam Chanelle smiled, nodding her head in approval.

Chloe nodded her head, too speechless to speak, then turned to Nicki and Lacey.

“I love it, just as it is.” She smiled.

Nicki gave her a broad smile, as Lacey nodded her approval.

“Okay, new bet. How long do you think Zander will keep his hands off her before dragging his Luna to the Barbie’s room?” Nicki giggled.

“As soon as the ceremony is over,” Lacey laughed.

Chloe grinned then did another twirl in the mirror before turning to Nicki.

“Your turn.” She laughed as Madam Chanelle guided Chloe into the changing room, as Chloe wobbled in the shoes.

“Ah Luna, you will need to practise the shoes.” Madam Chanelle laughed as Chloe looked down at her feet, nodding her head.

As Chloe changed back into her ripped black jeans and purple hoodie, she pulled on her doc martins that were artistically covered in splashes of paint, she turned to the dress that hung on the side of the room and traced the folds of the delicate fabric through her fingers, a soft smile teetering on her lips. She never thought she would ever feel this happy about a formal dress, but it reminded her so much of the dress her mother had worn in the portrait that hung in the private alpha suit she could not wait for Zander to see it.

Madam Chanelle zipped up the dress and took the high shoes, placing them into the box before heading out to find Nicki.

Nicki gulped slightly as the boutique owner trailed her eyes up and down her body, feeling self-conscious. Madam Chanelle broke into a wide smile, nodding her head franticly, then headed off to the rear of the shop and pulled out a dress.

“This will be perfect for you, Luna.” She smiled, motioning for Nicki to follow her.

Chloe took a seat next to Lacey, both of them waiting.

“I wish you were doing your ceremony with us.” Chloe sighed.

“That would have been perfect, but we need the new pack built before I can do that.” Lacey offered a soft smile.

“How is the work coming along?” Chloe asked.

“Good, we have marked the area, the foundations for the pack house have been dug out. Once they start on the building it will shoot up. Robin and I have gone for a cross between modern and wood. As much as I love the homely ranch feel of Silverback, we felt like we should incorporate some of the characteristic aspects of Crescent Moon as well, kind of an amalgamation of the two packs. Once the pack house is done, we can start on cottages, but those who wish to join the Silver Crescent pack can move into the pack house whilst we build them.” Lacey smiled proudly.

“It sounds amazing. Zander and I were talking about an open border between all three packs, so that the wolves from each pack may move freely between each of them.” Chloe smiled.

“I love that idea.” Lacey grinned at her Luna, the girl she once was responsible for but now classed as a friend.

“Faith and Luke arrive tomorrow. What do you think about them replacing you and Robin as the Beta’s for the pack?” Chloe asked.

“I think if you don’t snatch them up, I will poach them for mine.” Lacey laughed.

“What about Jackson and his mate? I am sure there is more to him than just carrying my shopping and watching out for me.” Chloe sighed.

“Agreed, however, the Gamma’s job is of great importance, never more so than now.” Lacey smiled. They needed someone they could trust for Chloe’s safety.

“I think Amy will re-join Silverback soon. Gav is wearing her down.” Chloe laughed.

“Yes, he is, and as each day passes, she will feel a pull towards him more and more.” Lacey smiled.

Their conversation was halted by Madam Chanelle clapping her hands, and both of them looked up to see a radiant Nicki standing in the mirror room.

Her dress was a pale turquoise which perfectly complimented her skin tone and hair. The satin material was overlaid by white chiffon that had silver phases of the moon delicately embroidered into it. The sweetheart neckline showcased Nicki’s figure to perfection as the fabric gathered under her bust, giving the dress a modern regency feel.

“Nicki, you look amazing!” Chloe complimented.

“I feel like Elizabeth Bennett from pride and prejudice, honestly, I love it!” Nicki squealed with delight.

With high silver shoes, Nicki walked around, managing her heels a lot better than Chloe had. She looked radiant and beautiful.

“Nicki, you are stunning. I think both our Alphas are going to miss the after party when they see you both in those dresses.” Lacey laughed out.

As the sun began to dip beyond the horizon, Chloe paid for the dresses with the black card Zander had given her, as Jackson and Liam gathered the items and carried them to the SUV.

They all pulled up at Creseant moon Pack house, the Ceremony would take place there for both Chloe and Nicki the next day. Chloe opened the front door, as Faith and Cheryl sat laughing and talking together.

“Hey Faith, you are back! I thought you were not arriving till tomorrow.” Chloe grinned at her, happy to see Ethan’s mother.

“Yes Luna, we had to come early with some news. Luke is in with both Alpha’s and the Beta, giving them our latest report. I however, am anxious to see my son. Do you know where he is?” Faith asked.

Chloe frowned, she had been seeing less and less of Ethan around the place since she got back from her mating moon, and she hoped her friend was okay.

“I haven’t seen him. Did you try linking him?” Chloe asked.

“Yes, but he has a block down.” Faith sighed sadly, she had missed her boy so much.

“Ellie, is Ethan with you?” Chloe linked to the only other person she believed he would be with.

“Yes Luna, ermmm, we wont be long.” Ellie stammered like she had been caught doing something she shouldn’t. and Chloe had to suppress the grin from forming on her face.

“Just a head’s up, his parents are back and waiting for him at the pack house, he had better have a valid reason for his block being down, and why you are all flustered?” Chloe teased.

“He was busy and is on his way.” Chloe smiled at Faith, then linked to Lacey.

“He was with Ellie.” Chloe smiled at her, and Lacey gave a small upturn on her lips, clearly coming to the same conclusion as her Luna.

Ethan burst through the door, and grabbed his mum for a hug, as Ellie followed, blushing slightly. Chloe rolled her lips together, both Ethan and Ellie were not yet at the age where they would know if they were with their mate, and as much as Chloe hoped they were mates, she knew she would have to caution them to be careful. After all, Josh had thought he was mated to uptight Ursula, and that ended in disaster. She did not want history repeating itself. However, that was a problem for another day.

Delphine walked in from the training ground in her black yoga pants.

“Please Luna, would you train with me, these others are just too weak.” She laughed, motioning to Kris.

“I will, give me ten minutes. In the meantime, I am sure Terrance would not mind helping you.” Chloe smiled, seeing Terrance walk in from his hourly patrol of the land checking in with the warriors who stood guard.

“Not a problem Luna, come on pup, let’s see what you are made of.” Terrance smiled happily, he loved to see the younger generation take thief warrior training so seriously, then followed Delphine out the door to the training ground.

“She is going to win every medal she enters for.” Lacey laughed.

“Yeah, I just think she might.” Chloe laughed, before knocking on the Alpha’s office door.

“Hey, I am back, just going to head up and get changed before doing some training with Delphi” Chloe smiled.

“Chloe, come in and shut the door please.” Zander said, his face looking serious.

Chloe walked into the office and looked around at the men who sat each of their faces a stoic mask, and took a seat with her brows knitting together.

“What’s up?” Chloe asked, seeing the serious faces of Zander, Josh, Robin and Luke looking at her.

“We have a problem.” Zander sighed, as Chloe gulped and nodded her head.
