Margaret's POV

That little she-wolf was not fit to be the Queen of this pack. Alex was too lost in the mate bond to see that. We had never had a hybrid as the Luna, and we certainly weren't going to start now. Sometimes children needed their parents to intervene to make sure they were making the right decision. I had to find a way to get Julia out of this pack, and Alexander to forget about her. I was walking into the pack house when I bumped into Jason, the head of patrol.

"Oh, my apologies, Luna Margaret," she said, bowing his head. Although I wasn't the current Luna anymore, people still used the title out of respect.

"Don't worry Jason. You look like you've been up all night," I told him, noting the deep circles under his eyes.

"Yes, I have been. We had a border breach and King Alexander wanted us to do a thorough search of the woods in the area."

"A breach? Who breached our territory?"

"We believe it was someone from Luna Julianna's former pack. It's possible they are looking for her for some reason. I was going to talk to the Alpha more about it so I would have as much information as possible. For now, we've added extra patrols around to cover more of the border."

"Thank you for telling me all of this. Now please go home and get some sleep."

"Thank you, Luna." He walked away in the direction of his house. If people from her old pack were indeed looking for her, maybe there was more to her story than she was telling me. I needed to get to the bottom of what was going on, there was no way I was letting this she-wolf into this pack if she was lying about who she was. October Moon was only a short drive away. Being the former Queen, I made a point to know all our neighboring pack's locations. Maybe I needed to pay their Alpha a little visit. "Elijah, are you busy at the moment?"

"No Luna Margaret. What can I do for you?"

"Would you be so kind as to please bring my car around to the front of the pack house? I feel like going into town for a little shopping trip."

"Of course, should I see if Hannah would like to go with you?"

"No, that's not necessary. I think I just need a little time to myself. I'll meet you outside in fifteen minutes." I went to my room first to freshen up. I wanted to put my best foot forward when meeting this Alpha. After a few minutes, I went to meet Elijah outside. He had already brought my red Mercedes to the front and was waiting outside with it.

"Thank you, Elijah." I said, walking up to him.

"You're welcome. Do you need help with anything else?"

"No, thank you. I'll have someone else come and help me with anything I bring back."

"Have a nice trip," he said as I got into my car, which was already running and cooled off. It took me about 30 minutes to make it to the gates of October Moon. Going in a straight line through the woods, it wouldn't take you nearly as long. When I got to the gate, a surly looking man approached my car. I rolled the window down so I could speak with him. "May I help you?" he asked.

"Yes, I need to speak to your Alpha at once. I have news regarding his runaway mate that I think he'll find very interesting." "What's your name?"

"I think I should keep that between me and the Alpha if you don't mind." The man got a faraway look in his eyes for about a minute.

"You may procced. Park in front of the pack house, go inside and take the elevator to the third floor. The Alpha will be waiting for you in his office. The second door on the right after you exit the elevator."

"Thank you," I replied before rolling up my window. I drove through their pack, looking around. It was much smaller than our pack and not nearly as nice. "How do they live like this?" I muttered to myself. Finally, I made it to what I assumed was their pack house. It was just a large three-story building. To me it didn't look like much. I parked out front like the guard had said and made my way inside. The inside was just as underwhelming as the outside, but I found my way to the elevator easy enough. Punching number three, I waited for the doors to close. The ride up was short, which I was expecting. The doors opened and I went to the second door on the right as instructed. I knocked and waited for a reply.

"Come in," said a voice. Opening the door, I saw a young man sitting behind a large desk. He couldn't have been older than 20 or so, with hair almost as white as snow. He stood up, and I was surprised at how tall he was. He walked around is desk to meet me in the middle of the room.

"I'm Alpha Logan Russell, and who are you exactly?" He didn't try to shake my hand, which I found rude.

"My name is Luna Margaret Hudson. Former Queen of the Western Lycan territory and the Crystal Sky Pack."

"You said you had information on my mate. We know she's in Lycan territory. What do you have to tell me?"

"Aren't you going to at least invite me to sit down? It's very rude of an Alpha not to offer their guest a seat." His eye twitched slightly and he clenched his fists. I guess he liked being told what to do as much as Alexander did.

"Please, come have a seat." Following him, I took a seat in the large black armchair, while he sat back in his chair behind his desk.

"It has come to my attention that my son and current Lycan King thinks your mate is his now."

"What is this woman's name? I need to know we're talking about the same person before we go any further."

"Julianna Parker. She was discovered just inside our borders having been stabbed by a silver knife. Does that sound like the she-wolf you're looking for?"

"Yes," came his reply through gritted teeth.

"I believe we both have similar wants in all of this frustration and confusion," I told him.

"And what would that be?"

"We both want Julianna out of Lycan territory. I want her out of my pack and away from my son. She isn't fit to be the Queen of the Lycan territory. Why do you want her bad enough to spend people looking for her?" Logan thought for a moment.

"She is my mate. As a hybrid, my father didn't want me to take her as my mate. I felt the same, but the mate bond was so strong. I realized I wouldn't be able to live without her. That is until my father ordered our Beta to kill her. Instead, our Beta took her into the woods to set her free. My father knew about his plan, so he sent warriors with them to make sure Marvin carried out his orders. Marvin turned against his pack and Julia escaped. I want her back as my mate and Luna, I have to have her back."

"I see. Well, I don't care what you do with her, but she needs to be removed."

"So how do you propose we take the King's mate from him? I don't think he'll be happy to wake up and find her gone. It sounds to me like my warriors were spotted on your land. If you know where she's from, it makes me think the King knows where she's from and what happened to her. He'll know immediately where she is and come for her."

""Not if we make them forget about their bond with each other and make them think they're mated to other people."

"Just how would we do that?"

"I'm not sure," I said, settling back into my chair. "I don't currently have anyone who can make a potion like that."

"There's no one in this pack that can either. My father made sure of that. Wait a second, Julia is the daughter of a High Priestess of a coven of witches."

"So, you think a mother would do something like this to her daughter?"

"She will if she wants Julia to stay alive. Her mother left her with our pack to protect her from the elders of her coven. She was afraid they would kill her because she mated with a werewolf, which was against the laws of the coven."

"You want to threaten her mother with Julianna's life to make the potion we want?"

"Yes, her whole life has been about protecting her daughter. This will be no different. If she knows making this potion will save her, she'll do it."

"Don't you hate Julianna? She told me she was hated in this pack for being a hybrid. You think her mother wants her with someone who hates her?"

"I don't hate her anymore. I need her here with me, as my mate. It's all I can think about."

"What is the name of this coven?"

"I'm not sure, but I know someone who does. Do you think you could get Julia alone long enough to slip her some wolfsbane? Maybe bring her close to the border and we can exchange her. You give her to me, and I'll use her to get you the potion for your son." That seemed like it might be a little difficult with how I'd acted a little while ago.

"I might be able to. I wasn't the most welcoming to her, but I might be able to make it appear like that has changed. At least long enough to get her alone."

"Okay, then we have a plan. We need to do this soon before they mark each other."

"I can try tomorrow. Alexander is taking the day off today to be with her, but he'll need to work at least some of the day tomorrow."

"And I'll talk to my prisoner about her mother and see what I can do about securing this potion. At least in the meantime, we can get her away from him, so they don't complete their bond."

"Will you bring her here?"

"I'm not going to tell you that. If you know, Alexander will be able to get information from you. It's best if you know as little as possible." That didn't sit well with me, not knowing all the details, but he did have a point.

"Fine, give me your phone number so we can keep in contact. I don't fancy another trip to this place."

"Is your son as lovely as you are?" asked Logan sarcastically.

"I can see why Julia wanted to get away from you," I spat back. Logan wrote down his number and handed it to me, while I did the same.

"I'll call you once I talk to who I need to, and we can work out more of the details." He stood up and went around his desk again. This time he did shake my hand.

"It's a pleasure doing business with you. If all goes well, both our packs will be back to normal soon." I left his office and headed back to my car. This encounter didn't take as long as I had thought, and I still had time to head into the city and actually do a little shopping. This might be a good time to show some good fortune towards Julia to try and gain her trust.
