Chapter 61

My mates rushed up and rubbed my body to make me calm down but my eyes stayed purple. I didn’t know how to calm myself and all I wanted to do was kill Mel and her friends for being so self-absorbed.

“How about we all go to your place Ryder to make a big lunch and all of us hang out? I have been dying to try out this new recipe and I want to try out your new grill!” Sandra offered as she walked up with my mother, father, Trixie and the two girls who pointed out the traitors.

All the guys nodded in agreement so I nodded yes. I was starving and I had some business to attend to with the girls and her parents. I walked up to them and grabbed their hands inviting them to eat with us and they screamed yes! Tracy asked if she could eat when we did or did they need to wait till we were done. I could feel the anger rolling off my mates so before she or her sister could feel it I pushed my happiness out and told her they had first dibs on everything! If they had known where we lived I am pretty sure they would of beat all of us there with the excitement coming from them.

Sandra ran home with her mate to grab items that she wanted to cook and I scoured our groceries for any of the things she might want to make so she didn’t have to bring everything over. I know why they were doing this and it made me grateful I had loving people standing with me. The girls ran and jumped in the lake which made Trixie want to go so my mom and dad had to get changed into some extra clothes that we had at the house so they could take Trixie out to swim. To see all of them splashing each other and having a good time really made me happy.

I was trying not to think about everything that had happened and all of the drama that was going to continue until I got everyone in line but it’s hard not to think about it. The food smells so good, my mates are being extra lovey, and everyone was just having a blast. Even both betas showed up which was fantastic. I may have grabbed them and my mates to talk strategy about when we left to go meet some other packs.

“So to be honest I don’t know where any other packs are. My thinking was we were just go in a certain direction and look around each town to see if we smell a wolf. I’m guessing you guys know where a pack is?” I stated as I sat down with them in the home office.

I looked all around the large table and I knew they were laughing at my strategy but gosh darn it I only knew about these two packs because I took the alpha positions. I kind of already knew there was a pack in this town because I’ve been here my whole life and some things just didn’t add up unless we had some werewolves. I know about the packs around the castle but only from the stories my mother has told me about my birth parents and their lives together.

“We know of a few packs near by personally from meetings and such. All states have packs and most of the bigger cities have more than one. I think we should hit some of the bigger ones that are already allied with us which means we need to be very cautious since they were allied with our father.” Asher explained as he started writing down different pack’s names and locations. “There are several packs that denied an alliance with our father because they didn’t like the rules he had in place for this pack and they didn’t like the way he spoke to them so we should definitely reach out to them and let them know the change of leadership. So what is the main goal Ryder?”

“The main goal is to see where they stand with actively going to war again, see how they train and maybe combining how they train with how we train so we can are better on our feet, battle strategy talks, and just getting in good with another pack so we can continue to grow our numbers. Yes, I would love to find my other teammates but getting more backup is a little more important at this point.” I just couldn’t put much focus on finding my other mates when I had enough on my plate for it to be spilling over every time I moved.

“I think you’re a little scared of having two more mates, Princess. You do so well with these guys. I think you will be fine.” Julian winked at me has he drank his rum and coke.

“Hell yeah nervous about two more mates. I’m really have five guys who apparently don’t know how to use a washing machine correctly. Your wife only has to deal with you and your children. I currently have five mates who probably all eventually want to have kids so that’s at least five pregnancies with just these guys! Think of all the laundry that is..” I feel my self starting to freak out a little bit so slid down in my seat and put my arms over my face. So totally not ready for kids just yet. I barely keep my cool when there is pee on the seat now.

“Calm down turbo. Teach us how to use the washing machine and maybe shows where it is that would be starters. Here’s my question after you wash it how do you dry it?” Blake was teasing me but I glared at him anyway.

“I’ll show you how to dry laundry!” And I throw myself over to his seat and tackle them to the floor. I started tickling him as I held him down. “You can’t get away from me! I’m the strongest wolf in here and I’m a girl!” I stuck my tongue out at him and he licked me. I jumped off laughing and went back to my seat.

“So I know we’re trying to avoid all of this but what are you going to do tonight with the fight?” Alistair asked me.

“So Blue is going to hate me for this but I’m pretty sure I’m going to stay human. Mel is not that strong and she has this false confidence that has made her make mistakes as it is. I just hate that when I kill her it’s her losing her mate and her mate losing her. Granted she’s not much of a prize. I don’t know Andrew is she a prize?” I blink my lashes innocently.

He snarled at me before answering. “Shut up butt munch. I’m sorry that I even let her look in my direction. The main thing that i think you should know is that she already found her mate since she’s almost 19 and he was human. She rejected him and physically forced him to say the words back. He had no idea why he was saying them and he ran into me telling me that there was some crazy lady telling people to reject her.” We all laughed at that one. I did feel bad for the human male though her making him do anything.

“Well at least he was human and it didn’t hurt a wolf in the end. I know that we can survive rejection but the pain is horrible. I never want to go through that and I think that’s something that also makes me afraid to have so many mates because there’s so many chances to get rejected.”

“Your next two mates reject you and I’ll kill them!” Knox growled as he gripped the table. I heard it c***k a little bit so I had to tell him to let go of the table because it didn’t do anything to him.

“LUNCH IS READY!” Sandra yelled and that ceased all conversation. We all stood and booked it to the patio since she grilled most of it.

I saw dad handing towels to Tracy and her sister which meant they had bonded a bit. It felt like I was making my own little family when I slowly added people into our lives and I was loving it. The pack life was great so far but I much preferred having the dearest people of my heart close to me all the time. I had no idea how I was going to handle living at the palace surrounded by people and constantly being needed to take care of problems.

Lunch was amazing in every way. I went back for thirds on the steaks Sandra grilled and the grilled veggies were to die for. The company was even better along with the lively conversation that kept my attention. I didn’t even think about the fight until after everyone trickled out and it was just my mates sitting with me.

“Ok so we have about five hours before we need to be on the training grounds. What should we do? I personally vote for a nap with me beside Ryder before doing the dinner thing and several rounds of k****s.” Blake winked at me and I just shook my head at him while laughing.

“I am down with a nap but I need a run with Blue before hand. Since I don’t plan on shifting during the fight she needs to get some tension our. Anyone want to go with us?” I looked around and I already knew it was going to be a yes from all of them.

“Are you sure not shifting is the right thing to do? Blue is strong and your not the best fighter just yet. I just don’t want you to get hurt.” Asher grabbed my hand and pulled me off the couch into his arms.

“I know I am not but I am better than she is. I know Blue is stronger but I need the pack to know it isn’t just my wolf who can kick a*s. I got this baby. Do you believe me?” I let out a small whimper. It was starting to second guess myself but all the guys instantly hugged me and told me that I was going to kick a*s regardless.

“I didn’t mean to make you sad. I just hate when you even bang your elbow on something.” Asher kissed my cheek before licking it. I shoved him back and wiped it off. “I just wanted to see you smile!”

“Well now that I am clean from my dog wash let’s go for a run!” I ran out the door leaving them in my dust

It was time to head to the training grounds before I knew it. The guys made the run a blast with their dogs play fighting and hunting together. They all offered up the animals they killed so we didn’t end up in not needing to cook dinner which is pretty awesome. We got a lengthy nap in and now we are about to head out the door. I could feel the nerves coming off the guys but I did not feel nervous. Blue was in the back of my mind being completely supportive and she knew that I was going to be just fine.
