I look around the room and can’t help but smile. Bias and Connor fuss over the baby dragon rolling around in Connor’s palm.
Dad is playing marbles with Callie and laughing as she cheats with her new Telekinetic magic.
Amara and Collins sit with their two children, toasting marshmallows over the fire in the fireplace.
Mama and Papa Quinn are in a deep conversation, discussing the possible properties of swamp moss mixed with dragon wee.
And I’m sat between Gabriel’s legs, his arms wrapped around my middle and his chin settled on my shoulder. His warm breath lands on my skin and his scent surrounds me completely.
It’s perfection. Every single bit of it.
And God help anyone who dares try and ruin a single second of it.
This realm is protected. This realm belongs to us, and no one will take it away.
