The Lost Princess’ Second Chance Chapter 23

Raya’s POV

I twitch my face as the sun’s rays peaked through the window and assaulted my tired eyes. ‘Wait… window?’

My eyes snapped out and I jumped up into a sitting position. That was a big mistake. I felt dizzy and had to place my hand to my head. ‘Slow down there sweetie. You went through a lot yesterday.’ a soft and gentle tone echoed through my head.

‘What the-’ I was cut off as a small movie like scene played through my mind. Memories of yesterday were coming back to me. That is right… I found out that I am actually the lost daughter of the Alpha King and Queen and younger sister on the future Alpha King. I also got a second chance mate and it was none other than the future royal beta, Alejandro.

The stress was enough for me that my lovely wolf, Violet, forced a shift that should have happened next year in order to calm me down and be here for me. Then a passing thought came to me.

‘Violet, the Moon Goddess isn’t going to punish you for forcing the shift when she told you to wait… is she?’ I asked. ‘No, not really. I already got a scolding from Mother last night while you were resting, but it will be difficult for you to shift anymore.’ She said.

I knew wolves and lycans could speak to the Moon Goddess while the human side slept. ‘What do you mean it will be more difficult to shift?’ I asked her. I felt her flop down in my mind and made herself comfortable. ‘I mean that until you can get your body stronger and healthier than it is, you may only be able to shift maybe three or five times.’ She said.

‘Three or five times until next year? That doesn’t sound so bad.’ I said. I felt her big wolfy head shake. ‘No dear, I mean for life. If you use up all your shifts until your body is 100% strong and healthy to carry my strength and power, you may never be able to shift again. So I would only shift in life or death situations.’ She replied.

I was shocked. ‘But what would happen to you if that happened?’ I asked. I was content when I thought I was wolfless, but for a wolf or a lycan, they crave to be in nature. They love to run in the woods and chase animals around.

‘I would still be here in your mind and we might be able to swap control once in a while, but we could never physically shift. I will never risk your life or our body just to shift into my true form.’ She stated the last part bluntly.

I shuddered that the thought of never being able to shift. ‘Alright, so I will just have to train hard and make my body stronger.’ I said with determination. Violet chuckled in my head. ‘Sounds good, sweetheart. Just remember to rest and take good care of your body. Trust me. I will never leave you. I am here.’ She said.

I internally nodded to her. The next thing I saw was a pair of sky blue eyes staring back at me. I yelped and covered my face. My sexy mate started chuckling at me. “How long have you been there?” I asked him through my hands. I could feel my face heating up again.

“Just a few minutes. I didn’t want to interrupt you while you were talking to Vi.” He said. “I brought you some breakfast.” He added with a soft gentle k**s to my temple. I slowly peeked through my hands. Alejandro had placed a tray in front of me with pancakes that had whipped cream and strawberries on top. Along with some scrambled eggs, bacon, and a tall glass of what smelled like orange juice.

I dropped my hands and looked at my mate with a smile. “Thank you, Alejandro.” I said. His eyes shined and he gave me a bright smile. He was as happy as a young child on Christmas morning. “You are more than welcome, baby.” He said, scooting closer to me on the bed.

I felt comfortable and safe when he was next to me. Then something popped into my head. “Hey, how did you know Violet’s name? I haven’t told you yet.” I asked. Alejandro smirked at me.

“Archer told me. He and Violet got to chat a bit when Violet got her lecture from the Moon Goddess apparently.” He explained while scooping up some scrambled eggs and holding them to my mouth. I felt hot again but decided to just relax and indulge myself in my mate’s care. I slowly opened my mouth and accepted the spoon he offered.

Hot and fluffy scrambled eggs hit my taste buds and felt like they melted on my tongue. I shamelessly let out a m**n as I chewed and swallowed the food in my mouth. After gulping down the eggs I was met Alejandro’s eyes that were swirling with l**t.

I was so lost in his eyes that I didn’t notice Alejandro closing the distance between us. Then I felt something soft on my lips. I closed my eyes and let the warm feeling wash over me. I had never been kissed before, but I did read about it in some romance novels I secretly read in the Nightshade pack library.

Alejandro’s hand gently grabbed the back of my neck and deepened the k**s. His tongue licked my lips asking for entrance. I don’t know where it came from, but something inside me was wanting more and telling my body what to do.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and tangled my fingers in his hair as I opened my mouth for him. His soft and wet tongue explored my mouth and tangled with my tongue. I pulled his hair a bit to pull him closer. The sparks from the contact and the k**s were drowning me in feelings I never experienced before. Even though I thought I would be scared of them, I wasn’t. Maybe it was because I was with Alejandro for my first time.

The food clattered to the floor as Alejandro lifted me up and set me on his lap. We pulled apart after what felt too soon, but both of us were gasping for air and trying to catch our breath. Alejandro kissed along my jaw and down my neck. I leaned my head to give him better access.

He kissed, licked, and softly bit my skin. I gasped and m****d at his touch. He then found a spot he liked a lot and sucked harder, using a little more teeth. “Ahhh.” I gripped him tighter and could feel a wetness pooling between my legs. He sniffed and growled in approval, claiming my lips once again.

We were so lost in one another that we never heard the door opening. “Good morn- OH MY GODDESS!” a male voice screamed out. Alejandro and I pulled apart and turned to the doorway. Miguel was standing there, covering his face with his hands and groaning to himself. “Oh man, gross. I need to bleach my eyes.” He g*****d into his hands.

“Maybe this will teach you to knock before you just walk in. We both have our mates now, dumb a*s.” Alejandro growled out. I felt my face heat up again as I pressed my face into Alejandro’s chest. “Yeah, but that is my baby sister you were sucking face with. Dude, your tongue was halfway down her throat. I am sure you could taste the last thing she ate.” I heard Miguel grumble.

I was so embarrassed that my own brother walked in on me with my mate. It may be his fault, but it is still embarrassing. I haven’t even gotten a chance to have a proper conversation with him or my biological parents.

“Whatever, please get her dressed and bring her to the dining room, since ‘breakfast in bed.’ was such a success for you this morning. Though just for your information, she needs to actually eat her food.” He said with a bit of bite in his tone. ‘I can think of something else we could eat.’ Violet purred as she showed me some very dirty images of what else I could be having in my mouth right now.

I felt more liquid pooling between my legs. I was still straddling my mate’s lap, so I couldn’t press my legs together. I heard them both sniff the air. My mate growled as he pulled me closer to him. While I heard Miguel gagging, “Okay that is it… I got to get out of here.” He yelled before I heard the door slam close.

I pulled my face back to look up at my mate. His eyes were still filled with l**t, but also love. “You are so cute, love. Let’s go get you something to eat before he sends his mate up to get us.” He said as he pecked my lips and stood up with me still in his arms.

I wrapped my legs around his waist. He carried me out of the bedroom and down some stairs. I nuzzled my face into his neck as he walked, taking in his closeness and scent. I have only known him for less than a day and yet I can not imagine my life without him. Is this what the mate bond does to people when they find their other half? I wondered. Alejandro was the complete opposite of Hugo.

They were like night and day. I was pulled out of my thoughts when Alejandro sat down in a chair with me still in his lap. “Dude, enough with this PDA!” I heard Miguel growl out and other people giggling. “Leave them be.” I heard Esme say as Alejandro adjusted me on his lap. My back was now pressed to his chest. My eyes widened at the sight of all the food, but there was only Miguel, Esme, Alejandro, myself, and my real parents sitting at the table.

“Why is there so much food?” I asked. “My parents and siblings will be here soon. They are excited to meet you today.” Alejandro said while sniffing my hair. “Along with our Uncle and his daughter and her mate.” Miguel huffed out, avoiding my eyes. Before I could say anything to him, the doors swung open so quickly that they hit the walls behind them. “Where is our new sister?!” Two voices yelled out in unison.

I turned to see two young girls running up to me and Alejandro. They had stars in their eyes and huge smiles on their faces. I gulped as I now felt like the new toy in school that all the kids wanted to play with first.
