Raya’s POV

While we were eating dinner and updating the rest of the ranked members about mine and Diamond’s bond and Bethany’s bretral. Isabella and Jorge were seething with rage when Juakin told them that Bethany was slipping a drug to Isabella to prevent her from conciving.

I could not blame her. If I found out someone was keeping me from having a family with my mate, then I would make them suffer the most painful death I could ever imagine.

I felt a small push inside my mind, meaning that someone was reaching out to me through a mind link. At first I thought I was crazy, because I was not an official member of the Rocky Mountain pack so I could not mind link with anyone here. ‘It has to be Diamond.’ Violet reminded me. ‘Oh right. Thanks Vi.’ I replied before opening my mind for Diamond.

‘Oh thank the gods. I was starting to worry when I couldn’t reach you.’ Diamond said. Relief replacing the panic that was in her voice at the beginning. ‘Hehe. Sorry Diamond. I am not used to having anyone to mind link with yet. You are the second person to mind link me my whole life.’ I told her.

‘Really? I thought werewolves and lycans mind linked all the time.’ She said, confused. ‘Yes we usually do, but only members of the pack can mind link through the pack link. I was never a part of the Nightshade pack and I am not an official member of the Rocky Mountain pack, so I can’t mind link any of the other members.’ I explained.

‘Oh… not even your mate?’ She asked. ‘Well once we mate and mark each other we can mind link through the mate bond, without me being an official pack member, but until then… no I can’t.’ I told her. ‘Oh, okay. Well I just got done with my meeting with Bethany, pleasant as ever and really thrilled about you being mated with the future royal beta.’ She said.

I internally sighed a bit. ‘His name is Alejandro, but if that is hard for you to remember you can call him Alec. Most of his family does.’ I told her. ‘Okay, sorry mistress. I will try to learn everyone’s names.’ she replied. ‘It would make it easier to communicate, and call me Raya for now. My true identity needs to remain a secret for now.’ I told her.

‘Okay. Well she wants me to help her break you and Alec up. I can buy a few days, with the excuse of looking for the right potion or spell before she notices I am stalling. She even threatened to reveal to the vampire prince where I am hiding and I would rather not have to bring that vampire drama in while we are dealing with her right now.’ She said, though I can feel her nervous tone through the link. She wants to say something more.

‘Okay. Spit it out.’ I told her. ‘What?’ She asked, a little shocked. ‘I can tell you want to ask something of me, so spit it out. What do you need?’ I said. It was silent for a moment, then she answered me.

‘Well I was thinking that you could buy me some more time and mark Alec. Then I can tell her that breaking a full mate bond is a lot harder and will take a lot longer since it is crossing into divine territory.’ She said, rushing the words quickly through the link.

I felt my face heat up. ‘Wait… wait… wait… YOU WANT ME TO WHAT?!?!’ I roared at her, not out of anger but out of pure embarrassment. I am not so innocent that I don’t know how the mating and marking work, but I am nervous about whether I would be able to even please my mate. ‘I highly doubt we would disappoint him. Remember how he was kissing us this morning?’ Violet purred out.

I did remember how this morning went. I wonder if nature would have taken its course if Miguel hadn’t interrupted us. ‘I didn’t mean any disrespect, my lady. It was just a suggestion.’ Diamond said in a panic. ‘I am not mad at you Diamond. I was merely embarrassed. I have never been intimate with a man before. I always saved it for my mate. Now that I have him I just don’t know how to start something like that.’ I told her honestly.

‘Oh… okay as long as you are not upset with me. Though that is an easy fix. Just put on some cute and innocent lingerie. Usually that gets the ball rolling.’ She said, and I can tell she was smirking at the last part of her comment. ‘I don’t have any lingerie, whatever that is. I don’t even have my own clothes right now. I am borrowing Esmeralda’s clothes right now.’ I said.

Silence…

‘Diamond?’ I called out. ‘OH MY GODS!!’ She screams at the top of her lungs. Making me cover my ears. ‘Mistress, we need to take you shopping as soon as possible. Tomorrow… Yeah tomorrow I will teleport us to the human mall and we can get everything you need there.’ She said, talking rapidly. ‘Hey.’ I said. ‘To think that you don’t even have clothes, what on earth is happening here?’ She was ranting off to herself.

‘Diamond.’ I called out to her. ‘Oh we can bring Lady Esmeralda with us. I bet she would have some cute ideas for you as well.’ She continued. ‘Diamond.’ I tried again. ‘Your first time needs to be perfect, so maybe a spa day is in order too.’ She continued.

I finally snapped. ‘DIAMOND!!!’ I roared through the link. Finally getting her to shut up and listen to me for goddess sake. ‘I will talk about the shopping trip to Alenajdro and the others, and when I am alone with my mate I will ask about the marking and mating process for lycans… So calm down and take the rest of the night off. I will get back with you tomorrow.’ I said everything in one breath so she couldn’t cut me off again.

‘Oh… okay my lady. I am sorry for losing my composure like that. Please let me know tomorrow when I can take you to the human mall. It really is the best place to get everything you need or to find anything you want.’ She said. Then the link closed. ‘I hope I didn’t hurt her when I yelled like that.’ I said to my wolf. ‘I don’t think so. I think she just got embarrassed to be caught ranting like that. She sounded like an over protective mother hen when she did. Hahaha.’ Violet laughed out.

‘True. I wonder if that is how things are going to be.’ I thought about the last time anyone ever looked out for me like that. It warmed my heart. ‘Well we have family and friends now, and you are stuck with me and our mate for life.’ She said before retreating into the depths of my mind. I felt myself blink a few times to refocus my eye sight and saw everyone at the table looking at me with concerned faces. “Is everything okay?” I asked, looking around the table.

“Who were you mind linking for so long?” Miguel asked. “Oh it was just Diamond. She wanted to update me on how her meeting went with Bethany and she also wanted to take me to the human mall for clothes and stuff.” I told them. There is no way in hell I am bringing up that she told me to mate and mark Alejandro just to buy more time with Bethany.

I didn’t want him to think I was moving forward with our bond just for that reason. I want him to know that I was taking that step because I want him for him. He was mine and I wanted every female to know that. “Oh okay, and we should take you to the mall soon. How about tomorrow?” Mom said with a smile. “Yeah we can make it a girls day out!” Esmeralda said.

Both Miguel and Alejandro went stiff at that thought. Alejandro wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his lap. “If she is going then I am going.” He muttered as he put his face into my neck and inhaled my scent. Esmeralda rolled her eyes but was not upset. “Whipped.” She teased and Alejandro lightly growled at her. I can already tell that tomorrow and every day afterwards was going to be fun. Even when all this bull s**t with Bethany and the Nightshade pack gets cleared up.
