(Damion pov)

I was going mad, completely insane..what was wrong with me. The interrogation in the cell played through my mind over and over again. When my hand came in contact with her face, seeing the look of hurt and betrayal fill her. I thought it was a trap, I thought she was another fake…I wasn’t supposed to have a mate, the witch told me that after the last one, she said she severed the tie. So why was this girl in my castle right now?

Seeing her in the bathroom with Lance all over her…I was ready to rip his throat out and take her to my room, claiming her right then and there. Titus was going crazy, I had never felt him so wild. He kept chanting the same word over and over.

‘Mine mine mine.’

Even now, I want to go down there and drag her straight to my bed..the goddess with the silver hair that sparkles like diamonds..f**k she was beautiful. Those turquoise eyes that are so unique and stunning. Those full pink lips and her smooth silky skin. She was short but f*****g sexy, her curves full and tempting. Suddenly my d**k twitched, the thought of her turning me on immediately. As soon as I touched her, my body exploded, the most amazing feeling I had ever experienced buzzed through me and made my skin tingle with excitement.

Then reality hit…I would never accept her as a mate because I will be the last Steele to sit on this throne. I had no intention of mating and marking with this girl. The Steele men screwed up generation after generation of men to rule this realm cruely. This would be my final gift to my father..ending his bloodline just like he killed off my own flesh and b***d.

But it wouldn’t hurt to take down those who have not yet paid for their crimes..Not only is Elder Paul on my list..but so is my mate’s Alpha…Alpha Richard..one of my father’s greatest allies. As soon as I was appointed King I abolished the slave trading..it seems this little Alpha decided to ignore that key rule. I’m sure he wants his precious blessed wolf back as well..so when he finds out she is my mate, what would he do to have her? What would Elder Paul do when he finds out I have a mate? I have a feeling he will want her as much as everyone else..not only was my mate a Blessed wolf, but she was also a beauty. Now I just have to plan this out flawlessly..use my mate as an advantage and then reject her as soon as Elder Paul and Alpha Richard are dead.

I was raised as a ruthless killer after all..emotions weaken a person. I refuse to feel a single thing for Eleanor Winters..she is just a small piece in this puzzle to seek revenge for my sister and mother..and I will get it, even if I die in the process.

(Damion pov)

I was up in my office, going through some paperwork. It had been a few hours since I last saw Eleanor and I was keeping tabs on her through Lucas, the more level-headed twin apparently.

Lance was still pissed, which annoyed me so f*****g much. Why was he getting so involved with my mate? The way he was so protective of her and how he talked back to me..it didn’t sit well. I knew I couldn’t confide in him about my plans because there was a small chance he would tell her. The last thing I needed was for her to run away or reject me first.

At least I had my Gamma to confide in. Elder Paul actually came to him a few years ago, trying to sway him to keep tabs on me, like a spy essentially. Luckily my Gamma is trustworthy and told me, so we decided to keep that link open. I would have my Gamma leak controlled information to him, that way we could keep an eye on the elder and know what he was up to. He thinks my Gamma despises me..what an i***t.

As bad as this all seems…I do need my mate to fall in love with me, to make it seem real, at least on her end. Elder Paul is conniving and vicious, he uses dark magic most times and if he tried to control her that way, then she won’t give up my plans because she will know nothing about them. She will thank me for this in the long run..but most likely she will end up bitter and full of hate because I will be taking away her fated title and fortune…I’m sure that will be enough to fuel her rage and accept my rejection. So sorry little mate, but you will get nothing from me.
