The first day, I trashed our whole floor..couches shredded, vases broken, tables smashed..the second day..I begged on my knees, pleading with the goddess to take me instead. To make it so my Eleanor lives..so our pup lives..the third day, I was silent, watching for any sign of movement, any sign that she was there..that she was listening. It’s been four days..four excruciating days.

We finally moved her to our room, after replacing and cleaning up everything. The doctor was able to bring up all of the equipment she needed. That included a heart rate monitor for our pup..the only sound bringing me relief is hearing the whoosh of my precious pup’s heartbeat filling the room. I made the doctor keep it on, I needed to have that, I needed to know our pup was okay at all times..it’s the only way I have been able to sleep at night. I haven’t left her side since the first day..the only time I did was to shower and change my clothes and that’s when I snapped and trashed the place. I’m not proud of my actions..but at the time it was either our stuff or every damn person in this castle.

We already finished off the warriors that betrayed us..that brought me some solace. Knowing those men would never be able to hurt my Bunny or my people again. They were traitors..and I’m done being lenient..the love of my life and my precious pup were almost killed by the man they chose to follow. That was unforgivable in my eyes.

I glanced up, my head resting on the side of the bed as I gripped Eleanor’s hand tightly. My gaze studied every single inch of her, committing it to memory as I made my way down to her hand. Her small delicate finger sat limp and unmoving in my grip. Four days..four f*****g horrible days she has been sleeping. Her vitals signs are back to normal, but we had to give her a b***d transfusion. The doctor thinks her wolf is still resting and has worked really hard to save her, that is why she hasn’t woken up yet because all of her strength that went to healing her and protecting our pup.

“Bunny, everyone is here, they all wanted to come see you and make sure you are okay.” I whispered softly, kissing the back of her hand, and then turned my head, rubbing my cheek against her soft skin.

“I miss you so much..you have no idea how badly I just want you to wake up..a simple sound..a noise..even just moving your fingers..that’s all I need Darling..that’s all I need to know you are there.” I pleaded to her, speaking softly..knowing she most likely couldn’t even hear a thing I was saying.

Sitting there quietly I waited, wishing for her to do as I said..hoping she would bring me some type of comfort.

Just then, there was a knock on the door, causing me to turn my head and sit up straight.

“What is it?” I could already sense it was Jake and didn’t bother getting up. Not wanting to leave Eleanor’s side for even one second.

Jake slowly opened the door, stepping inside as he walked over and looked down at the bed.

I could see the worry etched on his face. He feels guilty, he felt responsible at first because I told him to protect her with his life. I was pissed, I actually punched him in the face a few times..only because I felt like there was no one else to blame..it was wrong of me and I admitted that. Jake felt bad enough without me adding to it.

“Sir, the rest of the prisoners have been executed. All that remains are the Elders. They said Elder Paul threatened to kill their mates and pups if they didn’t comply with what he said.” Jake spoke firmly, his eyes not leaving Eleanor’s sleeping figure once as he spoke.

“Is there proof of that?” I asked matter of fact, glancing over at him before adjusting my grip on my mate’s hand.

“For a few, yes..they kept the messages. But the others said they couldn’t provide proof because Elder Paul was tactical about it.” He informed me and I nodded my head, feeling deep in thought.

“Fine, I want their titles stripped and if they ever step foot back in night shade I will personally kill them myself.” My answer was short and to the point. Honestly, the only reason why I didn’t kill them was because when Elder Paul escaped, these men made the choice to stay in their cells. That showed me they were not following him blindly and maybe there was more to it.

“Yes, My King..how..how is she doing?” He asked quietly, his mood turning more solemn now.

“Pretty much the same, the doctors say she could wake up any moment. The pup is perfectly fine too..it was like it didn’t get affected at all. The heart rate is normal and no signs of stress or discomfort.” I breathed out, feeling relieved. Knowing our pup was in perfect health has been what was grounding me.

It was as if Eleanor were protecting it herself through everything.

Suddenly Jake placed his hand on my shoulder, squeezing softly as he let out a sigh.

“She will wake up soon enough, there is no way she would go through everything she did and then let it all end that easily. Our girl is a fighter..I mean..the Queen is..” he quickly corrected himself and I couldn’t help but smile softly. I had never seen Jake so protective of someone like this. The way he wants to check on her all the time..he was like that a little bit before, being the gamma and all but after she saved him it multiplied like crazy..and don’t even get me started on Lance.

He was here the last four days up until an hour ago..I made him go back to his floor and see his own mate and take a damn shower. He would pace the room and continue to check the monitor like a damn mother hen..I was close to losing it on more than one occasion.

“I just don’t know what she was thinking..to learn she escaped down the balcony too.. f**k man..” I shook my head, glancing towards the balcony door.

“You have to admit that was pretty badass when Pierce told us that..he was so pissed off but like impressed at the same time.” Jake laughed, his voice low considering Pierce was right outside the door in the hall. That’s another one who hasn’t left us alone..I see him peeking in here every now and then just to check on her.

“My mate definitely has a way of surprising us..” I grumbled, reaching up as I tucked a loose strand of hair behind Eleanor’s ear.

I notice Jake studying me now, watching as my fingers lingered against her smooth cheek.

“I never thought someone could change so many lives like this..especially yours..no offense.” Jake added, glancing from me to Eleanor again.

“I didn’t think it was possible either.” I admitted, looking down at the woman I loved with everything I was made of. Everything I had was hers..every damn part of me.

“I guess it goes to show how right the moon goddess could be..” Jake trailed off, stepping back as he placed his hands into his pocket.

“I better go tell the warriors the plans. Want me to get Jane to bring you something to eat?” He asked, turning to walk out of the room.

I nodded my head, looking over at the monitors once more.

“Thanks Gamma.” I said, hearing his footsteps receding as he left down the hall.

I let out a deep sigh, laying my head down on the bed as I inhaled Eleanor’s scent. Needing to be as close to her as possible while I shut my eyes.

“Do you know..the first time I met you..I thought you were the most beautiful woman in the world. You were laying in the Beta’s cot just like this..and yet I fought the bond..I fought it so hard because I was afraid..afraid of what you could do to me. I have never met kindness in my life..I didn’t know it truly existed until you showed me..until you proved to me that there really was good in this world. I was such an i***t Bunny..such a fool to waste all of that time we could have had together..” I breathed, my emotions spilling out as I kissed her hand tenderly. Taking in a deep shuddering breath as I regretted ever fighting my bond with this woman..for wasting all that precious time and praying to the goddess she doesn’t take her away from me.

“Well, it’s a good thing we have more time to make up for it.” The faintest voice whispered, making my eyes snap open.

“El..Eleanor.” I gasped, my head lifting up as I was met with those breathtaking turquoise eyes.

“I’m sorry Damion..I know it was stupid and I shouldn’t have..” she started, and I couldn’t let her finish..I wouldn’t..I didn’t care about all of that. She was awake, she was finally awake.

I stood up, my arms encircling her body as I pressed my mouth against hers, stopping her lips from moving as I captured them in a passionate k**s. Something that I have been wanting to do for the past four damn days. f**k I missed her..I missed her so much.

“The..the pup? Is he..is he okay?” She asked as I pulled back slightly, the way she called our pup a he making me smile

“Our pup is perfectly healthy.” I assured her, making a sigh of relief leave those perfectly pink lips.

“Thank the Goddess..” she whispered, gazing into my eyes as I smiled down happily at her..

Yes..thank the Goddess indeed..my bunny is okay..everything is finally okay. I don’t know why the goddess has blessed me with all of these amazing things..but I know I will never take them for granted. I will cherish my Eleanor every damn day for the rest of my life..and that..that is a promise.
