The Luna’s Pure Heart – Chapter 93

(Eleanor pov)

I walked hand in hand with my mate, his head held high as his Alpha King’s presence pulsed throughout the room. We stood together in the Castles lobby, awaiting the arrival of the first packs as our staff lined up on either side. Their outfits were pristine and their stance strong and poised. This is what night shade truly is..a united front. All of our omega and higher ranks standing together as one to welcome the Realms together. I stood with Damion by my side as Lance, Lucas, and Rachel were close beside us. Then there was Jake, Dani, Jane, and Helen who stood across the way on the other side of the hall with our other staff and higher-ranked warriors. We also can’t forget Pierce, who took his place directly behind me protectively. I had the pleasure of finally meeting his mate and daughter the other day. They are just like I imagined and we actually got along really well. Their daughter, Ava, is the spitting image of his mate Coco, but she definitely has Pierce’s personality down to a tee. It was amazing to see the way Pierce interacted with them and how Ava had him wrapped around her little finger.

They will be joining us at the Moon Ball and I even gave Pierce the night off, considering there will be so many warriors around and Damion will be right by my side the whole night. Not to mention the Beta’s and Jake as well. I glanced across the hall, noticing Helen glancing towards the door anxiously. I had a feeling she has been missing Albert like crazy. Even though they have been together for years, this had to be the longest they were ever apart. I almost felt bad for her staying here this long, I’m sure she is ready to get back to her new life in River Rock, as sad as that makes me, I also feel happy for her..now she truly has a home and mate she always deserved.

Suddenly a line of cars began pulling up outside, our warrior’s walking to their doors as they opened them, welcoming our first guests that were arriving.

‘This is the Fire Creek Pack, they reside a few hours from here, they are a newer formed pack. Their Alpha Travis recently formed them this past year and just met his Luna a few months ago, Luna Bailey.’

Damion linked, informing me of who was arriving as I nodded my head softly, feeling grateful that he was informing me of who this was. I thought River Rock would be arriving first but I guess Fire Creek beat them here.

Looking ahead, I saw a man with light skin and long black hair that went all the way down his back step forward. Next to him was a small petite woman with caramel skin and long dark curly hair. She had a mysterious aura around her, and suddenly I realized she wasn’t a werewolf. Damion must have felt my confusion as he squeezed my hand and looked down at me smiling.

‘I forgot to mention that Luna Bailey is a witch.’

He glanced back towards the couple walking towards us and I now realized why her aura was a little off. I had never met a witch in person before, but was always curious. I know there are dark witches and light witches, but that doesn’t mean one is good and one is bad..it just means they wield different powers.

I could definitely tell Luna Bailey was a dark witch, just by the way shadows seemed to dance around her.

“Kind Damion, Queen Eleanor, thank you for having us. May I introduce to you my lovely mate Luna Bailey.” Alpha Travis spoke strongly, showing respect towards Damion and I as he bowed deeply.

“Welcome to Night Shade.” Damion spoke firmly, nodding his head as I glanced toward the woman who was now staring at me intently.

I smiled kindly, almost getting lost in her wild beauty as she suddenly took a step forward, causing her mate to stiffen and Pierce to match her step..his body practically pressing into me protectively.

“My Queen, on behalf of the moon coven and all of those who serve the moon goddess. We wanted to pledge our loyalty to the rightful Queen. The blessed wolf who now carries the blessed child.” Her voice was smooth and fell from her lips like a sweet melody, calming me as she glanced down at my swollen belly.

She suddenly bowed even deeper, gripping my hand as Damion stiffened, I could sense this was making him extremely uncomfortable as her mate just stared down at her in awe. I squeezed Damion’s hand reassuringly as I let the woman place the back of my hand against her forehead, her eyes closed and her lips lifted up into a smile. I honestly felt no threat from this woman, and I surprisingly felt comfortable with her..

“Yes, a blessed child indeed. One with royal b***d flowing through his veins..a gifted wolf just like his father.” Her eyes darted to Damion who furrowed his eyebrows as he stared down at the woman.

Suddenly she stood up straight, taking a step back as she linked her arm with her mate’s once more.

“Sorry about that My Queen, sometimes I get compelled to speak when I shouldn’t.” She smiled apologetically and I couldn’t help but return it.

“It is absolutely alright, we are happy to have you here and I hope you enjoy your stay and the festivities of the Blue Moon Ball tonight.” I spoke kindly as not only the Luna but the Alpha bowed to me deeply, before being led towards their room for the night.

Glancing toward Damion, I could tell something was bothering him. We just seemed a little off now and I wasn’t sure exactly what it was.

‘Are you okay baby?’

I asked softly, we had just welcomed another pack from a neighboring area and I glanced over at him once more.

‘Yeah..I’m fine.’

He said quickly, giving me a strained smile as I frowned. But before I could say anything else I noticed not only Helen shifting impatiently, but Dani was too. I looked at her with confusion and then glanced towards the door, seeing a few more cars pull up when I recognized Alpha Kilo right away. River Rock must finally be here..I couldn’t help but smile as I saw the twins, their mate, Albert and then Zach all exit one of the cars. Alpha Kilo and Luna Crystal began walking up as Zach followed close behind. I then wondered if he was now their official guard and had become a higher-ranked warrior.

Suddenly, he sniffed the air his eyes landing on me with confusion and then darting away quickly, like he was searching the room.

That’s when I saw them land on someone across the room, his stance growing stiff as he clenched his hands into fists.

I glanced over, seeing that Helen was now looking at him too, her mouth dropping open as she glanced towards Dani.

“Mate.” The words echoed through the hall. Two voices coming out and combining as one..Dani and Zach..I glanced at Damion who blinked his eyes in surprise and with what I almost felt was relief.

Alpha Kilo and Luna Crystal looked behind them with excitement as Zach just stood there in shock.

“Well young man, what are you waiting for? Go see your mate.” Alpha Kilo laughed, slapping Zach’s back.

Zach cleared his throat, glancing towards me once more as I nodded my head encouragingly. I couldn’t be happier..Zach deserved to find his mate..and the fact that it’s Dani? She deserved a good guy more than anyone.

She stepped forward, looking more nervous than I had ever seen as Zach reached his hand out, taking hers gently and that’s when both of their eyes widened. I couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear, knowing that mating bond spark so well as they experienced it for the first time themselves.

“My name is Zach.” His voice came out low and husky, causing Dani to swallow hard.

“Dani..I’m..I’m Dani.” She managed to choke out and it was so odd to see Dani actually getting flustered.

“Well, you two will have plenty of time to get acquainted, what a beautiful thing to see..what a great start to the Blue Moon Ball.” Alpha Kilo laughed, looking between me and Damion as we nodded in agreement. What a blessing this truly is from the moon goddess, pairing two people that deserve happiness more than anyone together.

I watched as Dani’s cheeks turned pink and Zach couldn’t even take his eyes off of her for one second. Their connection already seemed to begin forming as they both moved closer to one another, it was so heartwarming to see.

Even with this amazing outcome, I could still feel Damion’s hesitation..something was going on with him and I vowed to find out. He hasn’t acted like this in a long time and I didn’t like it..not one bit..Damion never keeps things from me..why is he all of a sudden doing it now?

We continued to welcome our guests as Dani and Zach excused themselves, moving to a more quiet part of the castle to get to know one another. I couldn’t help but keep glancing over toward Damion as his mood seemed to dampen more and more as time went on. I could feel it through our bond, it was almost like he was spiraling down into darkness..like his thoughts were deep and brooding, making his brow furrow even more.

‘Damion, please tell me what’s wrong..’

I tried again, knowing he was trying to act like it was nothing but it certainly didn’t feel that way.

He glanced over at me once more, seeing my serious expression as he let out a deep sigh.

‘Let’s take a break and we can talk.’

He brought my hand up to his mouth, kissing me softly as I nodded my head.

Turning toward the Beta’s, he linked them something swiftly and turned to walk me out of the room.

I glanced at Lance who gave me a sympathetic look as he mouthed the words, ‘So moody’ to me, making me shrug, not knowing why Damion was acting weird either. I guess even Lance picked up on it as well.

Damion led us towards the elevator, pressing the button for our floor as we stood together in silence..I didn’t like this one bit, he was acting so damn strange.

When we finally reached our floor, Pierce stayed next to the elevator as Damion continued to pull me toward our study. Suddenly he plopped down on the couch, letting go of me as his hands went straight to his face, covering his eyes.

I looked down at my mate worriedly, lowering down to my knees..which seemed to take more effort than I would like to admit.

“Baby please, tell me what’s going on..I’m right here with you.” I spoke softly, my hand reaching up and gripping his wrist gently, pulling his hand down from his face.

“You heard her Eleanor..I’m so sorry..I’m so sorry I did this to our child..to our sweet innocent pup.” He suddenly said, his head falling as total confusion filled me.

“Baby, did what? What are you talking about?” I was baffled at this point, but Damion seemed really upset.

“He..our son..he will be just like me..people..oh goddess..” he stopped himself, his words making my heart drop as I slowly rose and stepped between his legs, wrapping my arms around his back as he quickly latched onto my waist, burying his head against my chest.

“They will think he is a monster.” He whispered against me, the words sinking in as I looked down at this man that I loved so much..Finally seeing the pain and abuse he had to endure as such a small child. I knew it was bad..but seeing how he viewed himself, it broke my heart.

“Damion, you are not a monster, you never were..people were just afraid of how strong you were..how such a small child was so gifted and blessed by the goddess..they feared what you were capable of, of how you were meant to be the ruler of this realm even at such a young age, they all failed you Damion..but you know why I have no doubt in my mind that our son will thrive in this world?” I asked, stroking Damion’s hair tenderly as I looked down at him.

“why?” He asked, his voice muffled as he spoke against me.

“Because he will have you..our son will have a father that can guide him, and lead him to success..a father that will love him no matter what..we don’t even know if what that woman said was true..if our pup is even a boy..even though I do highly agree..” I added, making Damion chuckle as he pulled away, looking at me lovingly.

I reached my hand up, placing my palm against his smooth cheek as I gazed deeply into my mate’s eyes.

“But I mean it Damion, you are going to be the best father and mentor for our pup, no matter what the outcome is because no matter what..all our pup needs is the love and support from his parents..and I know we will be able to give more than enough of that.” I smiled brightly, leaning forward as I placed a soft k**s on Damion’s lips..feeling his worries slowly melt away as he nodded his head and held me close to his chest once more.

“Thank you Eleanor..thank you for showing me what true love is..for never giving up on me and accepting me for who I am.” His words were full of emotion and pure love, making my heart flutter.

I know Damion didn’t have the best childhood and that trauma still affects him today, but I also have no doubt in my mind of how much he will love this pup..he will be an amazing father and I can’t wait to be the one to witness it, to be by his side through the whole thing and to love him even more for it. That will be the most amazing thing.
