REAGAN'S POV.

My entire being feels rejuvenated after that very fruitful conversation I just had with Kyle and Tessa. The recording she presented to me will go a long to prove Alina's guilt and when Kyle finally gets the maid to talk, everything will be set. We're doing all of this in discretion to prevent our plans from leaking out, lest they reach the wrong ears and a counter plan is hatched.

I want to take Alina unaware. If there's one thing I've learned about her, it's that she is an excellent planner and it takes very little time for her to cook up a plan that could range from simply making a person look bad to killing someone. She's a dangerous person and we must tread with caution.

As I step out of the car into the hospital premises, my phone starts buzzing in my pocket. I take it out and quickly kill the ringer when I see Alina's father's name on the caller ID. The man has been calling me since last night, urging and ordering me to come and see Alina who they claim has not stopped crying ever since the doctor told her she has lost the pregnancy.

I wonder why she isn't an actress. She'll make an excellent actress!

Anyway, I'm here to see her. Not because of her father's urges and commands, not because I feel sorry for her. None of that. I'm here to see her because I don't want to raise her suspicion. She mustn't know about the investigation I'm secretly carrying out with the others and for me to distract her mind from going in that direction, I have decided to show up and pretend to be concerned about her health and well- being.

My guards lead me into the hospital building and once I step into the lobby, all attention is diverted to me. Everyone, whether patient or doctor or nurse, stops whatever it is they are doing and bows to me as a sign of respect and they only resume their duties when I signal them to do so. The private elevator takes me to the VIP section of the hospital and the guards lead me to a room which I suppose is where Alina has been admitted.

"I'll go in alone," I tell them once we get to the door and walk into the room. My eyes go over to the bed where I spot Alina sleeping peacefully. As I walk closer to the bed, my gaze does not leave her face. She's beautiful, even in her sleep. She looks so peaceful and innocent and someone who doesn't know her would think she's an angel. But she's the devil incarnate.

I have never met anyone who's as selfish and inconsiderate as Alina.

All of this just to be with me. She killed her child and put her life on the line just to be with me!

Heaven forbid I even end up with her or a girl like her. I'd rather relinquish my rights to the throne and live the rest of my life as an ordinary subject than have a woman like her in my life.

It seems she has sensed my presence because her eyelids start shaking and soon, her eyes snap open. Surprised fills her eyeballs when she sees me and she sits up right at the speed of light. "Alpha Reagan." She calls with her eyes and mouth open. She's shocked to see me in this room, standing by her side. It feels like a dream to her. "Is this you?" She asks dreamily and I force a smile as I nod my head.

"In flesh and blood." Her hand reaches out for mine and I cringe when she touches me, but I maintain the fake smile on my face.

After everything I've found out about her, I can't stand the sight of her. She disgusts me and I cannot wait to get out of here. I can't believe there was a time when I couldn't go three nights without touching her body. I was addicted to her, but I thank God my mate came along and changed all of that.

"You came." The excitement in her voice is hard to miss. "You finally came. I had lost all hope. I thought you were so upset that you didn't even want to see me." Her eyes water and her voice is a nervous shaky thing. To make my act more convincing, I perch on the bedside and hold her hands in mine. Now, the pretentious smile has disappeared from my face and I'm feigning sorrow.
