The Lycan Series -
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 44
Violet's
POV
The pain in my body vanished the moment Axel took me to the bathroom and started washing me. I couldn't help but stare at him as thousands of emotions swirled through me.
What was it exactly he wanted from me? Why was he doing so many things all at once? What did he feel for me?
One minute he was making crazy requests and the next he was so angry with me, I feared he would kill me, and then, here he was taking care of me like I was the only thing that mattered to him. Why was it so hard to understand him?
My heart was soiled with emotions so much that I didn't even know what to feel. A part of me wanted this to be more than what it was. While another part of me knew that it was impossible to want more from this Axel.
All I could do was watch him. Perhaps there was something I was missing. Perhaps there were clues on his face and I wasn't paying attention to see it.
I watched as he moved the sponge over my legs and as he scrubbed them clean with such precision, one would think this was a task that he was made to do.
The thought sent butterflies curling within me and as much as I tried to control it, I failed.
My legs started shaking and I would have loved to blame it on the rough positions he had taken my body but it was more from the butterflies his soft touches left on my skin.
A little moan escaped my lips and his eyes shot up at mine.
"Does it hurt badly?" He asked, his voice was so gentle, words got stuck in my mouth.
I feared I would only say things I wasn't supposed to. I could only shake my head.
"Don't worry, I will get you something to ease the pain," he said, dropping his eyes back to my thighs.
He moved the sponge to my inner thighs and I flinched back.
"I can let you do this yourself if you want," he said but this time, he didn't look at me.
I didn't know what was wrong with my body. It was melting under his touch once again after what he had just done to me.
I feared that if I let him wash between my legs then he would feel how wet I was and who knew what crazy idea he was going to come up with.
Quickly, I nodded and took the sponge from him. Then I started scrubbing myself clean.
His aura changed into what felt like disappointment but he straightened himself and moved away from me. "I'll leave the towel by the door for you," he said and then moved out of the bathroom.
As soon as he left, I let out a sigh and quickly completed my bath, washing all the places I didn't want him to reach. My nipples were already hard under the mousse and I had never been more grateful to soap in my life.
When I finished rinsing my body, I got up and walked to the door-true to his words, there was a large fluffy towel hanging there for me.
An involuntary smile covered my face as I recalled a time when I took a major risk for him. My father had grounded me for playing with him and as usual, he left Axel alone in the frozen cold.
There were a lot of guards patrolling the area and there was no way I could go to him without getting caught but I did the impossible. I got him a large fluffy blanket and some food.
He had been so stunned to see me but rather than send me back like the other times, he pulled me into his arms and we stayed this way until it was time for me to return. That night, it felt so right to be in his arms. He was like a big soft teddy bear who could protect me from every danger.
I wasn't able to understand what I was feeling then but as I wrapped myself with the towel Axel had left for me, I knew what it was. I had fallen in love with my hero.
As soon as the thought came to me, I slapped a hand to my face.
"What are you thinking, Violet?" I whispered, wiping the silly smile away at once.
This Axel was very different from the one I had shared my childhood with. And I would be stupid to think he was in love with me, especially with the way he treated him.
Sealing my thoughts, I wrapped myself and walked into the room. Surprisingly, he wasn't there. I contemplated going to my room to at least change but he had asked me to stay in his room and for some reason, I didn't have it in me to disobey him. Not knowing what to do, I held the towel tight and sat down on the bed, waiting for whatever was going to happen next.
As if on cue, the door opened and Axel returned with a brown envelope in his hands.
He took it to the vanity table and I heard the sound of paper kissing one another and I couldn't help but wonder what he was doing. But my worry wasn't for long, soon after he came to me and stretched his hands. There were two pills in it. "You should take this, it will help ease the pain," he said and I dropped my eyes to the white pills in his hands.
Without arguing, I took the pills from him and threw them into my mouth. Axel brought forward a glass of water and placed it to my lips.
As I drank, I couldn't help but notice the worry carved into his handsome face.
"I should get you something to sleep in. Is your maid in your room or her quarters?"
Knowing Sky, she was probably sprawled on my bed like she owned and I wouldn't want Axel to punish her for that.
"No, you don't have to go in there... I can just manage..." My words trailed as my eyes searched the pieces of my dress.
Axel followed my movements and he understood what I was searching for. "I already trashed it," he said and then got up.
He pulled off the T-shirt on his body and without asking, he helped me get into it.
"This should help you stay warm," He mumbled more to himself than to me.
I wanted to thank him but my lips were sealed by my thoughts. I only watched as he moved about the room as if searching for something. "Fuck!" He cursed under his breath and I couldn't help but wonder what could be wrong but once again, he came back to my side before I could ask. "You haven't eaten, have you?" He said searching my face, but before I could reply he got his conclusion.
"Give me a minute," he said as he moved to the wardrobe. He pulled out another shirt and went out of the room.
Minutes later, he returned with a large tray of hot food that got my stomach rumbling before I could even set my eyes on it.
Axel brought the tray before me and my mouth watered as a wave of hunger washed over me. There was a variety of food.
Sweet chicken with grill sauce trickling down the juicy meat, baked rice, and salads with a blend of fish, plus another bowl of meatballs on spaghetti.
My fingers stretched to the tray but before I could pick anything, a piece of the juicy chicken I was aiming for was brought to my lips.
"Eat," Axel whispered gently, urging me to open my mouth.
I froze but my lips parted and he fed me.
We were suddenly younger again and I was the one feeding him after my father had punished him for saving me from the cold creek-of course, my father got the wrong idea and despite my cries, no one listened to my side of the story. In the end, his hands were cut so badly, he could barely hold a spoon by himself. So, I took it upon myself and I fed him for days until his hands had healed.
Now, the universe had a twisted way of doing things, because our situation was reversed and he was the one taking care of me.
A cough broke out of my throat and Axel hurriedly brought a glass of water to my lips as he parted my back.
"There... It's okay. Take the water," he said and it felt like the big bad Axel I had come to know was gone.
This Axel, right in front of me, was the boy I had taken so many risks for. He was the boy who had saved me.
He was the one I called my hero. The boy I had fallen in love with.
