The Lycan Series -
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 48
Violet's
POV
Emily held my hand and led me away from her supposed mate.
"I am not invited to your little outing?" He asked behind us. "F**k no, we don't need your misplaced energy around us," she scoffed.
I turned to look at the man and he blew me a kiss. I felt disgusted at once. How did she end up with a man like that?
I blinked my eyes away from him and tried hard not to think about their union. She was a very lively person that made everyone feel comfortable -once you got used to her constant swearing but he, there was no way anyone could be comfortable with him, he seemed to call problems to himself.
"Don't pay Monty any attention, he is always feeling this f*****g sort of complexity and he thinks it's f*****g fun to be an arsehole," she said as we settled into the SUV.
I gave her a polite smile not wanting to say anything that would offend her. I had seen and heard cases of women being very abusive to their husbands or mates in their case but the moment someone else tried to do the very same thing that they were doing, it became chaotic.
The vehicle started moving soon after and she pulled the window open, letting the wind kiss her face.
"This feels so fucking good you know..." She whispered in a low voice.
"If I may, who are we visiting?" I asked her.
She pulled her face back into the vehicle and smiled at me but I noticed the sadness in her eyes.
"A family friend," she said in a low voice that made me wonder who this family friend was and why she was carrying me along with her.
"While we are on this fucking long ride, tell me, how are you? I know it must be hard staying in the mansion when your parents are in the dungeon..."
I swallowed the lump in my throat and nodded, "It's hard. But it's fine. I know this too shall pass."
"You don't hold any grudge against Axel, do you? I heard you two were fucking close when he was with your parents?" There was a side tone to her voice that made me wonder what she was thinking as she asked me these questions.
"I don't hold any grudge against him. My parents aren't that innocent... I know... So I know that he is only doing what every person would have done," I answered as honestly as I could.
"Hmm, but he is an ordinary person my Axel. He is a fucking Lycan," she beamed with pride glistening in her eyes.
"But he is a good boy. I would have killed your parents the moment I f*****g found them. If I were in his shoes. We, Lycans, are not soft people. And we hate liars and cheats. You understand right?"
The lump in my throat I thought I had managed to push down, resurfaced and I didn't know what to tell her, so I just nodded.
"Ah! We are here!" She exclaimed as the vehicles filed to a stop.
The guards opened the door for us and she stepped out first. I followed behind her and realized that we were at the cemetery. "Where is she buried?" She asked the guard that had opened the door for her.
"Second row by the right, ma'am," he said and she smiled at him.
"Thank you."
The man bowed and took a good distance away from us.
"Come on, Violet, we still have that shopping spree to do," she said but her usually cheerful tone wasn't as powerful as before.
An aura of sadness seemed to clutch her body as she moved in the direction the guard had pointed out to her.
When she reached she went down on her knees and held the tombstone.
The name on it was 'Dawn'.
I stopped walking, giving her a little bit of space but she turned around and beckoned me to come forward.
"Dawn was my best friend. We did everything together before my brother sent me to the human world to school with them," she said, as she looked at the tombstone.
Now I understood why she had so many piercings and decided to dye her hair as well.
"But the separation didn't stop our love. It only grew stronger because when I returned I found not just Dawn, but Avalyn too..." She said and my brain lingered on that name again. Greg had mentioned it the other time. And I could have sworn I had seen it somewhere...
"I miss you dumb head. And I hope you are happy where you are," she whispered and then got up.
She walked to the next two tombstones and held them too. Then she returned to me.
"Who was that?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.
"That was Sara. Hilda's mom and our family's doctor. A real sweetheart. I fucking miss her..." She said and just when I thought she was starting to get emotional, she turned away and smiled. "Cone on, let's go get you some sexy clothes," she said, hooking her arms to mine.
We walked back to the vehicle and the driver wasted no time, pulling us out of the cemetery and onto the street.
After the revolution, I had always thought a lot of shops had closed down but I was wrong.
The werewolves had managed to create an even bigger mall that sold everything one could dream of. As we stepped down from the vehicle after reaching the mall, I couldn't hide my excitement. When was the last time I had so much luxury?
I started admiring the soft materials of the dresses as we passed the isles.
"Make sure you don't take anything too long. I want your beautiful body to fucking show. Axel has to keep finding you irresistible," she said as she walked ahead of me to the lingering department.
Not heeding her specifications, I selected whatever I found pretty and it ranged from long to short. When we met up again further down the aisle of dresses, she had a pile of very provocative lingeries.
My face turned red in embarrassment and I pretended not to have seen it as we went to the counter and she made all necessary payment.
While we waited for our goods to be packed, she led me to a quiet side of the boutique and wiggled her brows at me.
"So you know why I got you those lingeries?" She asked and I quickly shook my head.
"Don't be fucking shy..." She chuckled and signaled to one of the attendants to come closer.
The lady came and bowed at her. "How may I help you Luna?" the girl said and I wondered if they knew one another.
"I need a fucking cold glass of smoothie and a fertility-enhancing one for her," she said, pointing at me.
The girl nodded and walked away, leaving me with a cloud of confusion on my face. Who did she think I was exactly?
I didn't even know if I should feel angry at her for jumping to conclusions... I was just numb but I refused to lead her on.
"Emily, I don't know what Greg or anyone else might have told you, but I am not Axel's breeder," I said, trying to sound as polite as possible.
Her eyes danced with an emotion I couldn't really put a finger on and then she smacked her lips.
"I know Violet. I know you are not his breeder. You are his mate and that means you will have to get pregnant and give him an heir," she said and this time, I took it very offensive
"I am sorry, but Axel and I didn't discuss such conditions-"
"Why do you think he fucking made you his mistress?" She clicked her tongue and reached forward for my hands. "I don't know what Axel is fucking thinking but the kingdom is in the middle of a crisis. We need an heir badly and as his mate or mistress as you call yourself, I want you to try..." she said.
"I know you want Axel to be f*****g happy again. I know you want him to be like the sweet little boy he was when you were younger and I am assuring you that Axel can be all of that... He only needs an heir..."
This was a very strong contradiction to what I knew Axel wanted and somehow it refused to sit in my head.
"What about his family?" I asked narrowing my eyes. "Emily I don't think you really know what your nephew wants..."
Her phone vibrated in her pockets pulling her out of the conversation. She checked the caller and a frown sat on her features before she answered.
"Greg, why are you calling, did Monty do something stupid again?" She asked but as Greg replied to her, the frown on her face tightened and she got on her feet at once. "Shit!"
She dropped the phone back into he pocket and turned to me. "We need to return to the castle. Hilda has been kidnapped."
