The Lycan Series -
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 69
Axel's POV
"Argh!" I screamed, using the reserves of my strength to try and push off the net but Willow's evil cackle was a painful reminder of my failure.
She threw her head back and held her stomach as she laughed. "I wish Talon was here to see what I have reduced his dear son to..." "By the time Greg gets here, I would tear-"
"Oh please shut it!" she hissed, cutting off my pathetic threats. "Fergus why don't you explain to him exactly what is happening to his dear Greg as we speak," she said, waving her long clothed arm dramatically towards Fergus who had been observing with a smug satisfactory grin on his lips.
He came closer and just like Willow, he lowered himself so that our faces were at the same level as he spoke to me.
"Let's see, where should I begin," he whispered with a finger on his jawline as he thought it through. "Here is our plan... we had hoped that you would be lured into our little cave by your dear Aaliyah...
My eyes expanded at his words as it suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't considered what could have become of Aaliyah. "Where is she?" I snarled, the force of my words causing a gush of wind to blow over his face.
For someone who had always been too scared to face off with me, he only closed his eyes at the wind without a flinch. When he opened them again, there was an evil glint in them that tore through my heart. "What have you done to Aaliyah?" I hissed.
Willow waved her long-robed hands in my direction and my eyes left Fergus and went to hers. My heart was already drumming with fear as I tried to control my breathing.
"I wouldn't be so worked up if I were you," Willow hissed and a frown settled over my features, "You see, Aaliyah isn't the saint you think she is. A few years ago, when I was still planning the revolution in the discomfort of my cell, she had been a very good source of help to me..."
My heart froze at her words and my wolf started shaking in denial. Aaliyah couldn't have betrayed my father. Even if she did betray my father, what about my uncle Jared? She couldn't do that to him...
"I know you are probably thinking that I am bluffing, and I wished I could give you the evidence you need but think about it... who else could have convinced your stupid mother to leak out the secret of how to tame a Lycan if not one of those you trust?" My eyes expanded and I found myself going numb with shock. As much as I didn't want to believe her, I knew that there was some truth in what she said.
The secret to taming a Lycan was the only way the humans had managed to overpower the werewolves at the time. My uncle had suffered immensely from this as he had been the first to die while mine were restrained to the point, I felt like an ordinary human... "Aaliyah was our pawn but, to ease your breaking heart, she changed her mind when her lover, Jared died... she wanted to change camps, but it didn't end well for her at all.." Willow straightened up and placed her hands on Fergus's shoulders. "But don't worry, unlike you, we know who our friends are. By the time we finish dealing with you, she will die and be buried by her lover's side..."
At this point, I was gritting my teeth as my wolf rolled over in my hand in anger.
Her words, her entire existence were an irritating stab to my being and all I wanted to do was tear her off the surface of the earth.
"Now, back to your men," Fergus took over and I was forced to return my reddened eyes to him. "There are bombs strategically placed along the paths. Their purposes aren't to kill them but to block the roads long enough for us to finish dealing with you... Once you are dead, Willow will become the first non-Lycan Queen the werewolf Kingdom had ever seen, and l' will rule by her side..."
He raised his head, and I watched in disgust as Willow kissed him on the lip, and then her icy blue eyes turned to me with a glow in them. "It is finally time to get the party started Axel, don't you think?"
Her hand stretched and I watched as Savannah stepped forward with a long and thick whip. She handed it over to Willow and she started coming towards me.
I wasn't even worried about the whip in her hand or what she had planned, if anything I deserved to be whipped for letting this happen. I could only hope that Monty had the sense of responsibility we had always prayed he had, and he took my aunt and Violet as far away from here as possible.
Willow got closer with the whip, and I closed my eyes, preparing my body for the pain it was going to undergo as soon as the whip kissed my skin.
My breathing became even more labored, and my teeth tightened. All I have ever wanted to do was make my father proud by holding the pack and the kingdom together in one piece and I failed. A single tear drop escaped down my cheeks as the cackle of the whip echoed in the air.
The next thing I expected was the pain in my body, but the sound of incoming vehicles suddenly filled the area. I didn't want to believe it, reasoning it was only my thoughts but as my reddened eyes cracked open, I saw the vehicles coming at a crazy pace toward where I was.
"Holy Shit!" Willow cried out.
Fergus froze by her side and Savannah turned pale. We all didn't know who was going but we knew that whoever they were, they weren't a part of their plan.
As the first vehicle got closer, a streak of hope broke through my shattered heart as I recognized Monty's pack emblem.
"This cannot be happening!" Fergus cried out and the fear in their eyes gave me the strength I needed.
With one final howl, I tapped into my Lycan powers despite the restriction, and I threw the net filled with wolfsbane off my body and those of my men.
The next second that followed, all hell broke loose as Monty's men jumped off the moving vehicles and charged at Fergus's men. I didn't even think to join them, with their numbers and the remaining ones of mine, they would easily beat Fergus people. I decided to concentrate on the fools who were supposed to be their leaders.
By the time Fergus thought to run it was already too late. I clutched him by his neck, my teeth baring as my anger finally found its target.
"My King... please..." he begged but it was too late. They had awoken the monster within me, and it would go back until I was soaked in my enemy's blood.
My claws extracted from their hiding place, and I launched them deep into Fergus's neck, tearing him apart like a chicken on a Christmas morning.
"Say Hello, to the devil for me," I growled to his face as I watched life fade out from his eyes.
"No, no..." I heard Savannah's whimper and my head immediately flashed in her direction.
She had managed to run to a far corner of the battlefield, but her eyes had been on Fergus all along and the whimper she had let out when his body fel lifelessly on the ground, was enough for me to find her.
She was frozen in shock but as I started marching down to her, she snapped out of her daze and tried to run but my wolf had used my anger to tap into my full potential. In seconds, I was behind her, and I grabbed her by the hair pulling her back. "Axel..." she shrieked her face filled with tears and fear. "I didn't want to join her..
You pushed me... Axel, I love you. I swear to love you... I wasn't going to let Willow kill you, I promise, I was only-"
My sharp claws buried itself deep into her stomach, stopping the pathetic words she was letting out of her mouth. I wasn't going to be like my father and make the mistake of forgiving any of them. Besides, I had no feelings for Savannah, she was nothing but a whore I enjoyed fucking.
As her lifeless body slumped to the floor, I turned to my next target, Willow. Unlike them, she had taken to her heels the second she realized who was in the vehicles.
But I was determined to find her, and I wouldn't rest until I did. I took the direction of the forest going as fast as I could. She couldn't have gone far.
I got to the forest, way deeper, and just as I was about to give up, I heard the snap of a twig. I turned my direction to the sound, running with all the rage I felt within me.
I tore through the trees and every shrug in my path. Until I appeared before a cliff and there she was, standing at the edge with an evil grin on her face.
"Willow, it's all over now.." I hissed as my claws pulled in and out of my hands, ready to tear her apart. She had nowhere to go, I had her.
"I'll rather die by my own hands before I let a son of Avalyn, touch a single portion of skin on me..." she hissed, and I saw it.
Her eyes were moving to the death trap behind her. She wanted to take the easy way out by committing suicide, but I wasn't going to let that happen.
As soon as I understood her plans, I started running towards her, but I was too late.
My hand clawed towards her, hoping to catch her but I could only get a strand of her hair as her cackling laughter echoed down the never-ending cliff as she fell to her death.
