The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 81

Violet's

POV

My soul was no longer in my body and my bones abandoned me, leaving only my skin; and even this couldn't stand the weight of the pain. I buckled to the ground and cried my eyes out, watching as my world became distorted. My parents were moved off the podium and dragged back to their dungeon. While I remained there, i was too numb to move.

I felt Axel's eyes burn into my skin as he walked pass me, the feeling further adding to the bitterness i felt.

My life became totally meaningless...

Rain started to fall but I couldn't care less. My tears mixed with the rain, and they descended to my soaked body.

I regretted the day I had raised my head and looked at Axel back at Aaliyah's place.

I should have continued hiding away. I should have never run to Axel...

My thoughts trailed off as the rain over my head suddenly came to a stop and 1 blinked my eyes to find that I was now under an umbrella.

"Violet!" Sky called as she appeared before me.

There was pain in her eyes and there was pity too. She cared for me, that was certain, but I felt too ashamed of myself to accept these feelings because I saw Sam's battered face when I looked at her.

Her boyfriend had been hurt too many times all because of me, yet here she was standing by me when she should have stayed far away.

"Let's take you inside, you can't remain here..." she said.

I wanted to argue. I wanted to tell her that it was better that I stayed there under the rain until the cold killed me because there was no point for anyone to live anymore in my condition. Why should I continue living when everyone whom I loved, hated me?

But I was too broken to even speak. I let Sky pull me off the wet ground and she proceeded to take me back to the main house.

I noticed we weren't heading to my room back in Axel's wing, we went to the lower floors where the other slaves where camped. They had made temporary rooms for themselves, and Sky led me into hers. "Stay here, I will go make you a cup of chocolate," she said as she dropped me. She got to her feet and began to run out of the room.

Again, I wanted to call back to her to let it be, but she was gone before a whisper could manage to escape my lips. And once again, I was left alone with a numb mind and weakened soul.

My eyes followed the lining over the makeshift room and somehow, it looked so beautiful, it became the only thing I could focus on.

Sky returned a few minutes later with a cup of chocolate, just like she had promised but as she handed it to me, I shook my head and continued staring at her ceiling, refusing to get dragged back to reality. Sky lowered herself to her knees in front of me and held the cup

my face.

"Violet, please don't do this. You need to drink something, or you will catch a cold." But I ignored her.

I refused to break away from the calming therapy I found in the house.

Sky let out a sigh, finally realizing I wasn't going to take it. She placed the cup on a small table. at the corner of the room and came to stand before me once again.

"I will be going

out now for my chores, but I will be checking on you regularly.

Please take the chocolate, it will help you feel better," she whispered but I gave her no response.

I didn't even look at her. I just watched the ceiling, willing it to come crashing down on me but nothing happened. I remained this way until my eyes became too heavy to stay open. Soon, I gave in to the fatigue and I slept off.

But even in my dreams, I didn't know peace. I found myself at the podium once again with Axel whipping the hell out of my parents. I cried, yelled, screamed even but he didn't stop. His angered eyes were literally burning as he continued hitting them till, I saw their life force escape their eyes...

"No!" I jerked awake with a racing heart and. looked around in fear, but I saw that I was still in Sky's room. Yet something looked different.

I must have slept for hours because the sky looked brighter than when the last time, was awake. It wasn't exactly dark when I slept, the sun was setting but it was still bright. How long have I been sleeping?

My thoughts got interrupted as a commotion began outside. Heavy footsteps filled y the air, and my heart skipped a beat.

My body felt heavy, but I couldn't keep sitting there and do nothing. With my heart in my throat, I got up and pushed the small door open to see what was happening.

The slaves were running out of their living spaces like a festival was happening somewhere. A frown covered my face, and I was going to return to the room when my eyes caught Sky running towards me with horror written all over her.

"Sky..." I whispered, moving towards her.

As she got to me, she grabbed my hands and started pulling me along with her. "He is going to kill them!" she cried out and a cloud of confusion took over my veins.

I held her back, relating her reaction to panic. She had to calm down and tell me exactly what was happening. "Who? What is going on?? What are you talking about?" Tears escaped from the corners of her eyes, but she quickly wiped them and stared at me with fresh determination. "Axel... the king... he has your parents out on the podium, and he is going to kill them."

A crash of thunder went off in my head and my hands slipped off hers. "What... why?"

I whimpered as my chest began to tremble with shock.

Sky shook her head and pointed to the corridor ahead of us, "I don't know for certain but it seems they tried to escape last night and they got caught... but they killed three guards and tried again until beta Greg's son restrained them..." The world started spinning in my face. Every word she said echoed in my head like an evil bell of warning.

Knowing my parents, I couldn't even begin to doubt that they had indeed tried to escape. It was my father's plan all along. I warned them but now it was clear that they didn't listen. "Please, take me to them," I whimpered.

Sky nodded once and took my hand, together, we ran out of the slave's area and made our way up until we got to the exit. She took a shorter path and in no time, we were at the square. I expected to find the same

scene as the previous day where just a few guards and

Axel would be there to punish them, but I was wrong.

The slaves that had been running

from their space had all come out here. There

were more guards and people too.

Emily and her mate were standing at the front of the circle. And as if she could feel my eyes on her, she moved her head in my direction.

There was Greg's son too, who had a bloodied shirt on as he stood by Axel.

"These people have sinned against my kind.. not only have they sinned but they have caused me to sin too..." Axel growled, and his voice echoed through the circle the people had formed "They tried to run and got three of my men killed... those men had children and mates! I have failed my men, but that error would be corrected right now...

He stretched out his hand and roared. "Get me my father's blade..."

In that moment, my soul separated from my body, and I started watching everyone

-including myself. Time stopped and I watched as the guards handed a long-jagged sword to Axel.

My heart collapsed and I heard my voice in the distance, screaming for him to stop but this only fueled his anger.

"Bring them over!" he roared again, and the guards pushed my parents in front of him, their heads were lowered like common criminals as they anticipated the inevitable.

I screamed at them, but no sound left my lips. Only tears filled my face and I wanted to run to them.

I wanted to protect them, but strong arms held me back and that was when Axel raised the sword high into the air and when it descended, it brought down my parents' heads.

All sounds vanished and my heart stopped as their heads toppled over the ground, rolling until it came to a stop, right in front of me...

The world returned to normal, and my screams tore through the air.
