~ Violet -

The sound of the rain falling on the windowsill woke Violet up from her sleep. It was a peaceful sound, slowly rocking her brain back to life. Violet stirred in bed as her eyes were too heavy to open. She took a deep breath and a familiar masculine scent filled her

senses.

Hmmm.

It was Damon's scent, unmistakably. Violet was immediately taken back to the memories of last night. She remembered Damon taking her away from Dylan's wedding, putting her into an airplane and they flew to God knows where. Violet also remembered the conversation they had... and what Damon decided to do in the end. "Do you still love me?" he asked.

"Do you know that I still love you?"

"I think you do,"

With her eyes closed, Violet could see everything unfolding before her. She didn't want things to go that far, but she was powerless against him. He tied her hands above her head and worshipped her body with his lips. He made her lose all sense of purpose and decency. Then he made love to her body, sending her to the heavens over and over again.

"I know sometimes... I've said the wrong thing... and I made you doubt me... But I'll never... doubt you,"

Damon's words were ringing in her ear. Her hands went to touch her body and she could feel him on her skin again. How he moved their bodies together, how he slammed into her core mercilessly, and how much she enjoyed every minute of it.

"I don't care what you do to me," he whispered to her ear. "You can shoot me all you want... And I'll still be here... I'm still yours,"

Violet remembered the earth-shattering orgasm that followed after that. Her eyes jerked open instantly. The first thing she saw was the familiar-looking window and the rain falling outside. She remembered this window so well. This was the view that she would wake up to every morning when she was still living in the Van Zandt estate.

Wait, what...?

Violet's eyes darted around the room and she realized where she was. She was in their room. Everything looked exactly the same. The ceiling, the light fixture, the crown molding, and all the furniture. It was just like how she remembered it.

Violet looked confused. She knew where she was, but she didn't remember how she got there. Pulling her strength together, she tried to get up, but her entire body was sore through and through. Her head was spinning and she couldn't even lift her legs up. Groaning softly, Violet rubbed her head and turned to the side.

"Good morning,"

To her absolute surprise, Damon was sitting on the chair next to the bed, staring right at her. He was reading the newspaper and wasn't wearing anything except for a pair of slacks. Violet couldn't help but stare and gawk. "Oh," she stammered, panicking. "Uh, good morning..."

Feeling uncomfortable being watched by him, Violet threw her gaze down and that was when she realized that she was completely butt naked! Her cheeks turned red instantly, and she haphazardly pulled the duvet to cover her skin. Damon stifled a laugh as he watched her. She was moving so awkwardly, confused, and totally caught off guard.

Violet let out a sigh as she wrapped the duvet over her body. Her cheeks blushed bright red and she had nowhere to hide. She felt so embarrassed and awkward, and the silence in the room didn't help at all. Damon also didn't say a word. The only sound that filled the room was the sound of the rain falling outside.

*Tick... Tick... Tick... *

Okay... this is not awkward at all, she said to herself. And how the hell did I get here?!

"You passed out last night on the plane," Damon said as if he could read her mind. "It's been a while, so we might have to work on your stamina again,"

Violet's cheeks burned even redder. She thought she already hit rock bottom, but his comment made her wish the earth would swallow her whole. Violet turned her face as far away from Damon as she could and held onto the duvet tighter. *Tick... Tick... Tick... *

The sound of the rainfall continued. Damon wasn't saying anything, but Violet could feel his piercing gaze boring into her. Memories from last night washed over her again and she remembered more bits and pieces. She remembered passing out in the jet plane's private room and Damon carrying her out. He put his suit over her body since her dress was all torn up. He carried her all the way up the stairs and into the bedroom. And then he lay her down and slept next to her, his arms wrapped tightly around her body. "How are you feeling?" Damon's voice pulled her back to reality.

Violet thought for a moment before answering, "I'll let you know when I have the words..."

Violet felt lost. She was not supposed to be in this room with him. She was supposed to be with her family, celebrating her brother's wedding. Letting out another sigh, Violet kept her head away from Damon, staring out into the window. It was morning time, which meant she was away for almost twenty-four hours already.

Dylan and mom must be wondering where I went...

"Coffee?" Damon's voice cut through her thoughts again.

This time, Violet turned her head to him as she said, "Yes, please,"

Damon poured her a cup of coffee from the pot on the table next to him. The smell of the freshly brewed coffee filled the air and Violet felt a sense of calmness.

"Thank you," she said as she took the cup from him.

Damon let out a small smile as he returned to his seat. Violet sipped her coffee and felt her body returning back to life. She knew she needed to relax and think things clearly. There must be a way out of this, she thought.

I need to figure out what's happening here and go back to my family...

There were so many questions running through her head, Violet didn't know where to start. For instance, what was Damon planning to do with her? What did last night mean for them? And where could she go from here? *Tick... Tick... Tick... *

The silence in the air was deafening. Violet bit her lip as she looked down slightly. There were clear marks and bruises all over her body. They were proof that last night wasn't just a dream. Meanwhile, Damon caught her staring at her black and blue skin. He zeroed in on all the marks and his eyes turned cold.

"Hey," Damon said as he stood up to his feet and walked over to her. Violet looked up at him and waited for him to continue.

"Did I... hurt you?" he asked. His tone was cautious.

Violet shuffled uncomfortably. The bruises hurt a little, but that was the least of her concerns.

"No," she said after a while of silence.

Damon was standing at an arm's length away. Violet's eyes darted to his bare chest and the scar over his tattoo. She swallowed hard as she studied the mark. I caused that, she said to herself.

That was my fault... I hurt him...

"Does that hurt?" she asked cautiously, still staring at the scar.

"Actually, yeah," Damon said with a chuckle. He leaned forward and grabbed the horizontal column of the four-poster bed. His muscles flexed when he did this. "But if getting shot at gets me here, I think it's worth it,"

A smile crept up her face and Violet quickly bit her lip to not let it show. It was useless, though. Damon saw it. He was smirking right back at her.

"Damon, why am I here?" she said finally, shooting point-blankly.

"I told you I was bringing you home," he said.

"This is not my home," she shook her head. "Not anymore,"

Damon furrowed his eyes. He didn't like what he was hearing. Violet let out another sigh and pulled herself off the bed. She was still using the duvet to cover her body.

"Look, last night was... a mistake," she said. "I'm really sorry, but please... just take me back to Austin. My mom and brother must be worried sick looking for me,"

Damon narrowed his eyes further. He let out a mocking scoff and crossed his arms, clearly disagreeing with her.

"You think last night was a mistake?" he asked.

"Damon, what we had was amazing... But it's over..." she tried to explain.

"I don't think it's over," he said firmly. "I think you still love me,"

Violet felt a pang in her chest. He was calling her out on her bullshit.

"How do you know that?" she gulped.

Damon didn't answer her in words. He simply cocked his head to the side and gave her a knowing look. He was eyeing her body up and down as if to make a point. Last night, it wasn't just him that made love to her. She made love to him right back. "That's not fair..." she protested. "You used my body against me,"

A smirk crept up his lips and Violet turned away. It was difficult to look at him. He had so much power over her, Violet didn't feel like herself anymore. Damon's hand reached out to touch her chin, but Violet flinched back. She was afraid of his touch. Or rather, she was afraid of losing control again.

"Sweet girl, I'm not using anything against you," he said in that low, husky voice. "I only showed you who I am. The rest is just... your natural reaction to it,"

Violet felt her heart racing and knees trembling. It had been three years since he last touched her, but she still felt everything like it never stopped. She still felt the same fire and explosion every time he was near her.

"Why do you wait three years to find me?" Violet blurted out. Out of all the questions in her head, this was the one that haunted her the most.

"I

I thought you needed your space," he shrugged.

"Were you mad at me?"

"No,"

"Be honest,"

Damon clenched his jaw and gave her a half-smile.

"Okay, I was mad," he admitted. "I felt betrayed. But then I realized something,"

"What?"

"You weren't betraying me," he said as he took a step closer to her, his hand reaching for her face. "You betrayed yourself,"

Violet couldn't pull away. She stared at him in confusion, waiting for an explanation, but all he did was smile. Damon was confident he didn't have to explain anything. He knew and she knew the truth. He was right. Gently, he began stroking her cheek with his thumb. His eyes darted to her lips and they darkened. Violet knew what he wanted to do. She felt a knot twisting in her stomach and she quickly pulled back. "So..." she trailed, trying to distract him. "What does this mean for us...?"

Damon was unfazed. His eyes never left her lips. He stepped forward again and Violet couldn't move back any further. Her feet already hit the bed behind her, one more step back and she'd fall down to the bed. "Isn't it obvious what this means?" he replied challengingly, his face hovered over her.

"I... I know what you're saying, but I think we need to talk about it," Violet gripped onto the duvet tighter. She was trying her best to remain strong.

"I don't wanna talk about it," Damon said as he leaned closer. "Talking is overrated,"

Violet thought that he was leaning closer to kiss her, but no. Suddenly and without warning, Damon grabbed her entire body and threw her over his shoulder. "D-Damon!" she squealed, panicking because she couldn't get away and the duvet that was covering her fell down to the floor. "What are you doing?!" "You're leaving me no choice," he said as he carried her out of the room. "I don't want to have to do this, but... ah, who am I kidding? I do wanna do this," "Damon!" she screamed. "Put me down!"

Despite her kicking and screaming, Damon brought her out of the room and into his study. Her punches and kicks didn't affect him at all. His steps were firm and self-assured. The next thing she knew, she was thrown down to the bed in the middle of the playroom. Yes, that room.

"Ouch!" Violet went down with a shriek.

Damon didn't bother responding. His strong hands swiftly clasped her wrists to the leather cuffs connected to the bedposts. Violet tried to fight back, but it was useless. She tried kicking him away, but that only made him smirk. He then grabbed one of her ankles and cuffed them down, and then he went for the other one. Violet couldn't do anything but lay helplessly with her arms and legs open wide. Naked, screaming, and angry.

Violet glared daggers at him, but Damon only stood back and let out a chuckle. He was pleased with what he saw.

"Just like the good old days, isn't it?" he said, smirking triumphantly.
