~ Damon -

For as long as he could remember, Damon was a man of vision. He was always working towards a goal, be it climbing the power ladder or bringing down vengeance, he always had direction and a sense of purpose. Even after watching his family and his bride slaughtered at his own wedding, his heart was still driven. He didn't give up. He was more ambitious than ever and it propelled him to become the mafia king of the east coast.

In contrast to that, early this morning, Violet left the estate quietly. There was no bloodshed or guns fired. She just got into the car and it drove away. It was nowhere near as dramatic as the Red Wedding, but for Damon, it actually hurt a lot more. He didn't know what to do with himself now. For the past several years, he built his empire with one vision in mind: to live happily ever after with Violet next to him. But now that she was gone, what was he building all this for?

Damon's head hung low as he sat on the desk in his study. He was staring at his journal and the phone. He was supposed to give Hugo a call and assure him that he was still an ally. But in actuality, Damon was plotting to strike Hugo down once and for all. Damon was so close to winning it all. But now, without Violet, winning didn't even feel like it. He felt no purpose and had no direction. He didn't know why he even bothered playing this game in the first place. *CREAK*

Damon heard the door open and light footsteps entered the room. He looked up instinctively, and to his absolute surprise, Violet was standing in his study. His eyes jolted open in shock and his jaw fell to the ground. Damon looked as if he was about to say something, but Violet quickly put a finger to his mouth.

"Sssh," she told him. "Talking is overrated,"

Leaning down, Violet then crashed her lips onto his. Damon was caught off guard. Everything inside him exploded once their lips touched. His skin was burning and his entire body came to life. Once he gathered his composure, Damon closed his eyes and kissed her back. For the first time since she left this morning, Damon was able to breathe again. He inhaled deeply and put his hands on her face, pulling her closer and kissing her harder.

"Is this real?" he gaped as he pulled away slightly. "Or this a dream?"

Violet smiled and closed the distance between their lips again.

"It's real," she whispered. "I promise,"

Her soft lips were on his again, coaxing him to another kiss. This felt too real to be a dream. Damon didn't know what was happening, but he didn't want to ask and ruin the moment. Without breaking off the kiss, he pushed everything on the desk until they fell to the ground and pulled her body up. Violet was sitting on the desk and Damon stood right in front of her. His chest was thumping and his breathing became ragged. She's right. Talking is overrated.

Damon kissed her with fire and fervor. He kissed her like he never kissed anyone before. He tasted her like he never tasted anything before. And he was still hungry, aching for more of her. "Ah..." Violet let out a moan as Damon's lips connected to her neck. This only fueled him to kiss her harder.

Violet ran her fingers through his hair as Damon kissed and sucked on her neck. He inhaled her intoxicating scent and it went straight to his brain. Damon was lost in ecstasy. He pulled away only for a moment to look at her face, and their eyes met each other. She was staring at him with fire burning in her eyes. It was a look that he had known so well before. Damon was certain now that Violet wanted him just as much as he wanted her.

There she is. There's my sweet girl.

Damon didn't waste any time. He delved right down and planted a slow deep kiss on her soft lips. Violet let out a gasp and Damon used the opportunity to slip his tongue inside. His one hand was holding her in place, and the other was holding onto her face. Violet let her hands travel to the back of his neck and gently pulling on his lush hair. Damon let out a groan in response and pulled her body tighter against him. Her knees were separating their bodies together, so he pulled them apart and positioned himself in the middle of her parted legs.

Shit. I'm fucking throbbing.

Damon couldn't suppress the bulge forming inside his pants. He was grinding himself against her and she was grinding back. Their bodies moved in sync like they were one. Violet's hand then traveled to his chest and she gripped onto his shirt collar, pulling on them as if she wanted to rip them apart.

"Is this what you want?" he asked her, his eyes darting down and up again.

Violet paused for a beat and nodded her head.

"Yes," she said meekly.

In one swift move, Damon pulled hard onto his shirt and the buttons went flying everywhere. The fabric ripped with a loud noise and Damon pulled everything off until he stood with his bare chest in front of her. Violet's eyes darkened with lust as her hands roamed his body. He felt a shiver when she touched the mark on his chest and he held her hand there.

I love you, he said with his eyes.

Damon didn't quite know the look she was giving her, but suddenly and without warning, she crashed her lips onto his again and pulled his chest to her body. Damon heard her body's desire loud and clear. He ripped her blouse open with ease and pulled the flimsy fabric until it fell to the ground. Slowly, he pushed her down until her back hit the desk and she was lying flat on her back. He undid his jeans and pulled them down before positioning himself back between her parted legs.

Violet's hand reached for him as if she didn't like being separated from him too long. Damon obliged and leaned down, his body hovered above her. Their eyes were locked on each other as Damon guided his shaft out of his zipper and to her entrance. Without breaking eye contact, he pushed her panty aside and ran his tip along her slit. Violet sucked in a deep breath because she knew what was coming next.

"What do you want, sweet girl?"

Damon knew the answer to that, but he wanted to hear it coming from her lips. Violet was squirming in need and he was throbbing hard, but he held himself on her entrance on purpose, waiting on her answer.

"You, Damon," she admitted finally. "I want you and only you..."

The biggest smile curved up his lips. That was everything he wanted to hear and more. He slid his tip only slightly into her entrance and felt how warm and wet she was for him.

"How do you want me?" he asked.

"Inside me," she demanded. "Make love to me,"

Damon's eyes darkened instinctively. With a low grunt, he pushed his shaft into her and felt her tight walls enveloping his girth. Damon watched as Violet's eyes rolled to the back of her head and her body jerked around for him. Her mouth fell open as she struggled to keep it together. Steadily, he began to pick up the pace and he felt her moving with him in sync. There was no greater feeling in the world than what he was feeling right now. Damon pressed his forehead against hers as they keep their eyes on each other. And just like magic, they made love appear out of thin air.

- Violet -

I can't believe I'm here.

Violet's chest was heaving up and down as she lay in Damon's arms. She was looking up at him as they were catching their breath. The moon outside shone through the bedroom window and the light hit Damon's face in this beautiful bluish hue. Violet was entranced. He looked so beautiful. Almost like an angel.

I can't believe we're here.

Just this morning, she thought she was leaving the estate for good. But somehow, she ended up back here, lying in his bed and wrapped around his arms. They made love throughout the day and they only stopped when the sun sank on the horizon. What will this mean for us?

Violet's head was now filled with questions she couldn't answer. She was acting on her impulses before, but now her brain was catching up with her. She wanted to be in Texas with her family, but she also wanted to be here with him. She wanted to keep her peaceful and idyllic life, but she also wanted the fire and heat that came with being with him.

Can't I have it all? Is that too much to ask?

She knew it was naïve of her to think that being with Damon doesn't come with its complication. This was the price that she had to pay for her choice. Although, it didn't feel like she was making a choice. Because no matter what she did, somehow she always ended up back here. With him.

Am I really making this choice? Or is this choice making me?

"Hey," Damon said suddenly, catching her off guard.

"Hmm?"

"Penny for your thought?"

Damon was looking down at her and studying her expression. His eyes held a glint of worry. It seemed that he was worried she was regretting what just happened.

"I... I just can't believe how easy it is being with you," she told him. "Despite... everything," Damon let out a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, I know what you mean," he agreed. "But, I just need to know one thing. What changed your mind?"

Violet fell silent and thought about the answer. In theory, being with Damon should be filled with all sorts of difficulties. She was going to live a life full of threats and danger. They'd have enemies everywhere and there was no one to trust. Freedom was only an illusion and her whole life would be trapped behind these walls. And even if she could have a family with him someday, she would subject her children to the same misery.

These were all good reasons why Violet shouldn't stay. This was what her logical brain was telling her and that was why she chose to leave. But then, her heart had the audacity to simply say, "But I want Damon," and the rest was history.

"I don't know, really," she shrugged. "I was in that car and I was thinking about never seeing you again and I... I don't want that,"

Damon's lips curved up a smile. He put a hand on her chin and gently stroked the side of her face.

"Okay," he says. "That's a good start. I'll take it,"

Violet smiled back at him and leaned her face into his palm.

"I've tried so hard fighting what I feel for you," she admitted. "I thought this was wrong, but..."

"Nothing feels more right," he finished her sentence.

"Exactly," she agreed.

Damon and Violet stared into each other's eyes as if they could see into each other's souls. Despite her brain telling her that this was the wrong choice, right at this moment, Violet knew deep in her heart that she was right where she belongs. "Thank you for coming back," he whispered.

"It's three years too late, but-"

"No," Damon shook his head and leaned for her lips. "It's never too late for me,"
