- Violet -

Ring... Ring... Ring... *

The sound of the line ringing filled the air. Violet held her breath as her heart beat harder. She still didn't know what she would say when he picked up, and her brain wasn't coming up with anything either. Ring... Ring... Ring... *

The line kept ringing and Violet got more and more anxious. Not just her heart, but her brain was a mess too, filling her with questions like: "Why isn't he picking up?" "Is he alright?" "Does he not want to talk to me?" "I'm sorry, the number you have called cannot be reached at this moment-"

"Ugh!" Violet groaned and ended the call. This was not how she imagined things to be. She really wanted to talk to him, or to hear his voice at least. If he would just pick up the phone and say hello, she would leave him alone and go back to her life in peace. I gotta try again!

Violet hit the call button again and the line started ringing. At this point, she didn't care if this was embarrassing or awkward, she just wanted to know that he was alright.

* Ring... Ring... Ring... *

The line was ringing for a while, until suddenly...

"Hello?" A girl's voice answered the phone.

"H-hello?" Violet spoke back.

"Who is this?" the girl asked.

"It's... Violet. Who are you?"

There was a beat of silence before the girl started laughing. Violet felt her heart sink to the floor as she recognized that laugh.

"Violet? It's me, Celina," the girl confirmed her suspicion. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

"C-Celina?" Violet stammered, holding herself together. "Is Damon with you?"

What is Celina doing with Damon's phone? They're not together, are they? No, of course not! Damon doesn't like her. Maybe they're just at some event together... "Well, Damon's not with me right now, but he is with me, if you know what I mean?" Celina replied with a teasing tone, and that sank Violet's heart deeper. "What?"

"I'm sorry we can't invite you to the wedding, I'd say it's a conflict of interest. But you don't mind, do you?"

"What wedding? Wait, you and Damon are..."

"That's right, we are getting married,"

For a split second, Violet felt like she was struck by lighting. This must be a joke, she thought. This couldn't be real. Damon and Celina...?

"Well, anyway, thank you for calling to congratulate us. Damon and I are head over heels in love. I'm sure you're wishing us all the best, right?" Celina spoke again as Violet went dead silent.

Violet wanted to speak up, but the pit in her stomach felt so heavy, she couldn't open her mouth. Thinking about Damon and Celina together, she wanted to throw up.

"You're... lying," she croaked finally, mustering all the energy she had in her.

"Me? Lying? Why, I would never," Celina laughed and giggled. Clearly, she found it amusing that Violet was having a hard time processing the news.

"...That's... not possible... he wouldn't..." Violet muttered under her breath. She couldn't believe that Damon would do something like this. "Can I talk to him please?"

Celina let out a scoff as she was offended. It didn't sit well with her that Violet thinks it's so impossible for Damon and her to be together.

"Listen here, Violet. Damon wants me to tell you that he doesn't love you anymore, alright?" Celina's tone of voice suddenly turned dark and menacing. "You had your chance with him, but for whatever reason, you decided to leave. Well, hey, one woman's loss is another woman's gain. He's mine now, so I'd really appreciate it if you don't call him anymore, got it?"

"Wait-"

"Goodbye Violet, it was nice knowing you. Hope we'll never hear from you again,"

And just like that, the call ended. Violet felt the energy draining out of her body as her face went pale. The phone slipped out of her hand and it fell to the floor, and she couldn't move to pick it up. She could only sit there like a statue, struggling to grapple with reality.

- Celina - "What a bitch!" Celina snickered as she ended the call, throwing the phone at the bed.

Celina was wearing her bathrobe as she had just come from her bubble bath. As told by the sunset outside the window, the day was ending in Italy and Celina was getting herself ready for tonight. She was in a good mood, thinking about enjoying some intimate time with Damon later, and she was in the middle of shaving her legs when she heard the buzzing sound coming from the bedroom.

At first, Celina didn't think much of it. Her phone was right next to her, so it couldn't be her phone. But then, she realized that it might be Damon's phone. Damon was always so secretive with his phone. He never let her look at it, and he was always careful not to leave it lying around.

And so, Celina decided to check the phone out. It was lying on the bedside table unattended and an unknown number was calling it. Celina answered the call to find out it was Violet. Her first instinct was total jealousy. She didn't want Damon to still be in touch with his ex, so she did everything she could to make sure Violet would never call back.

"Crazy bitch," she muttered again. "Why is it so hard to believe that Damon and I are in love?"

Celina glanced at the phone again and narrowed her eyes. It seemed like the phone was unlocked and Celina thought it was odd. Damon would never be careless. It was as if he wanted someone to find that phone on purpose.

Curiously, Celina picked the phone up again. She opened it up and started going through it. He didn't have anything in his galleries or text messages, which was extremely odd. There was only one number that he kept calling and it was Adrian's.

Celina got more and more curious. She started looking through his apps and she found his notes. Celina's eyes jolted in shock when she read the title of the notes: "Dear Violet".

That ugly feeling of envy and jealousy coursed through her body. Damon was in her father's study right now, they were going to have some important meeting about the wedding. That would take a while, which would give Celina plenty of time to read through the

notes.

There were 36 drafts in total, and Celina read every single one.

(DRAFT #1 - Last Edited: 36 days ago) Dear Violet,

Sweet girl, I miss you. I can't stop thinking about you. I know I probably shouldn't have hit your friend, but I was so angry. You were defending him instead of being on my side. I thought we're supposed to be a team. You're my ride or die. Please forgive me. Please come back. I don't know how I'm supposed to live this life without you. I've tasted heaven when I'm with you and now everything feels like hell.

Yours always and forever,

Damon.

(DRAFT #2 Last Edited: 33 days ago)

Dear Violet,

I know you don't love him. I know what we have is real and there's nothing in the world quite like it. I know you still think about me like I still think about you. Our love is the greatest force I've ever known. It's useless trying to fight it. We belong together, in this world and the next. So I'll always be here waiting. If you ever want to come back, you know where I'll be.

Yours always and forever,

Damon.

(DRAFT #7 - Last Edited: 25 days ago)

Dear Violet,

My sweet wife, please come back home. My world doesn't make sense without you. I miss you. I miss everything about you. I never should've let you go. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. No matter what I do, I can never get over you. I miss you so much it's hard to breathe. Please, end my misery and come home to me.

Yours always and forever,

Damon.

(DRAFT #19 - Last Edited: 18 days ago)

Dear Violet,

I've written you a lot of messages that I never sent. A part of me really wants you to know how I feel about you, but the other part of me thinks it's better if you don't. Maybe you're safer and happier this way. Maybe this is God's way of giving me a second chance to right my wrongs. I never should've gotten you involved in this world. You don't belong here. You deserve so much better. And that's why I'll keep writing messages I'll never send. Because maybe these messages aren't for you to read, it's just for me to write and to remember that I had once met an angel and she changed my life.

Yours always and forever,

Damon.

(DRAFT #25 Last Edited: 11 days ago)

Dear Violet,

Do you ever think of me like I think of you?

Every single day, every moment of the day, no matter who I'm with or what I'm doing, you are always on my mind. And even though it's agonizing to think about you and not have you by my side, I still consider it a pure privilege that you would ever grace my thoughts.

So haunt me. Live in me. Torture me. I'm here for you.

Yours always and forever,

Damon.

(DRAFT #31 Last Edited: 5 days ago)

Dear Violet,

I know our love is the greatest love of all. I'll never find anything like it ever again. Thank you for the best years of my life. I will never forget it all. Even if my body breaks, my brain dissolves, or this world ends- our love is true and it will forever remain. Yours always and forever,

Damon.

(DRAFT #36 Last Edited: 1 day ago)

Dear Violet,

*********

Maybe this will be the last thing I'll ever write to you. After this wedding, I might not be around anymore. And even if I was, you'd want nothing to do with me. So if this is the last thing that I can say to you, I just need you to know that I love you. Everything I do since I met you, I do it because I love you. I know you don't agree with my methods, but all the violence, all the killings, all the blood and tears I've spilled- I did it for love.

I love you more than these words could ever say. There will never be anyone else for me but you. I'm always yours and you're always mine. Just because we're not together right now, it doesn't change that fact.

So, wherever you are in this world, whoever you're with, and whatever you do, just know that my love will always be with you.

Goodbye, my sweet, good wife.

Yours always and forever,

Damon.

"No!" Celina gasped in terror and threw the phone away.

Her eyes burned with rage and anger. Her heart was racing a hundred miles per minute, struggling to grapple with the reality that Damon never really loved her.

All those nights we've spent together... and our wedding, is it all even real? And what does he mean when he says he won't be around anymore?

As if to answer her question, suddenly the phone dinged. Celina glanced at the screen and saw a text message from Adrian.

ADRIAN: PLEASE STOP THIS F*****G CRUSADE! DON'T TOUCH HUGO! WE'RE ON OUR WAY!
