~ Violet - "Sweet

girl, wake up..."

The first thing Violet heard that day was Damon's voice piercing into her dream. At first, she thought it was part of the dream. But as the voice got louder and louder, Violet realized that she was asleep and Damon was telling her to wake up.

Slowly, Violet peered her eyes open and stirred in her spot, stretching her arms out. Looking at the window, she noticed the sun outside was barely rising. It was still early in the morning, too early for anyone to wake up and do anything, but Damon was definitely wide awake. He was sitting on her side, already wearing his signature black suit and tie. His hair was neatly slicked to the side and he was smiling at her, his eyes shining full of life.

"... Damon?" she croaked, her eyes blinking a few times, making sure this wasn't a dream.

"Good morning, sweet girl," he said as he caressed her cheek, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I need you to do something for me,"

"...What?"

Damon stood up and pulled something from his back. Violet had to blink a few times to see it clearly. Her eyes were still blurry. Her brain wasn't fully awake yet.

Holding a single violet rose in his hand, Damon put the rose down on the bed and said, "Follow the violet roses, it'll lead you back to me,"

"Huh?"

Damon just smiled at Violet's confused face. He then leaned towards her and kissed the top of her head. "I'll see you soon," he whispered.

And just like that, Damon turned around and walked away. Violet's jaw dropped open, clearly confused. "Damon?" She called for him, but he didn't turn back. He simply walked out the door and closed it shut. Violet propped herself up on the bed and looked around the room. This was clearly not a dream, but what the heck just happened? Slowly, she put her feet down and grabbed her robe from a nearby chair. She put the robe over her nightgown and opened the door. There wasn't anyone around.

Feeling more confused, Violet went back inside and saw the single violet rose on the bed. There was something attached to the rose, a card or a note of some sort. Violet came closer and picked up the card. There was a message written in Damon's handwriting. "Find me in the first place we met. - D."

Violet narrowed her eyes in suspicion. The first place we met? That would be The Union, the bar where she used to work. They hadn't been there in ages and why would Damon want to meet there? The bar was all the way on the other side of the city. What on earth is he planning?

Violet could stand there with all these questions, or she could get ready and follow along. She chose the latter option. She took a quick shower, put on the first dress and coat she saw, grabbed her boots, and went out the door.

As she walked down the stairs, Violet noticed that the house was weirdly quiet this morning. There were only a few maids around and she didn't see Dylan, Ivy, her mom, or Talia anywhere. But since she was on a mission, Violet didn't stop to think about any of that. She went quickly to the front door and found Beau standing next to a black SUV.

"Good morning, Miss Violet," he greeted her like he knew she was coming. "Where are we off to this morning?"

Violet noted the playful smile on his face and approached the car. Clearly, Beau must know what's going on.

"The Union, please," she said, climbing into the car.

"Sure thing," he replied, closing her door and going into the driver's seat.

"I mean... that's where Damon's at, right?" she asked cautiously, studying Beau's reaction from the rearview mirror.

Beau only smiled and shrugged.

"I don't know, Miss Violet. I'm just supposed to go wherever you tell me to,"

Of course, Beau wasn't gonna give up Damon's plan to her. So Violet just sat quietly in the backseat as the car drove out of the estate. Violet threw her glance out the window as she watched the mansion disappear in the distance. A small smile curved up her lips as she felt the excitement of this adventure. That Damon. Always so unpredictable. But also... Only he can make me feel giddy and excited about life like this. Only him.

About half an hour later, the black SUV pulled up in front of The Union. It was early in the morning, the sun was just rising, so the bar was obviously not open. Violet stepped out of the car and approached the front door. She thought it would be locked, because it usually was, but then she noticed it wasn't. The door was unlocked and she could easily come inside. Violet turned back to Beau who was still sitting inside the car.

"I'll wait right here, Miss Violet," he said as if he knew what she was thinking.

Nodding her head, Violet pushed the door back and entered the bar. The first thing she noticed was the smell and how everything was the same. It felt like stepping back into a time machine. Those chairs, those tables, and the long bar. She used to spend hours of her life inside this place, making drinks for people and keeping them company.

And of course, Violet remembered the night she met Damon here. He was wearing that signature all-black look, surrounded by his men, sitting on that seat on the corner. He had tattoos peeking out of his shirt, his jet-black hair all cool and messy, and those piercing eyes that could cut through her soul.

"Damon?" Violet called for him, looking from side to side, but there was no response. It didn't even feel like anyone was in here.

"Damon?" she called again, stepping further into the bar. "Where are you?"

It was clear that Damon wasn't anywhere in here. Could he possibly be inside? Violet pushed the back curtains away and stepped into the long corridor. It was dark and empty. Violet called for Damon again, but her voice only echoed.

Narrowing her eyes in suspicion, Violet walked down the hallway. As she was walking, she couldn't help but remember the encounter she had with him here. This was where he first spoke to her. He asked for her name and he also asked, "What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?"

After that fateful encounter, the rest was history. Violet helped him escape the cops through the secret door in the employee room, and that was it.

The employee room!

Violet's eyes jolted open instantly. That must be where Damon was hiding. She quickly raced towards the room and flung the door open. To her surprise, the room was empty, but there was a single violet rose lying on the ground, next to the painting that covered the secret passageway.

Violet bent down and picked up the rose. There was also a note attached to it. It read:

"You forgot to have your coffee this morning. What do you say we get some at the first place you served it? -D"

Violet's lips curved into a smile instantly. She knew exactly what he meant by this.

The black SUV raced across town and stopped in front of a small coffee shop with a sign that said: City Coffee - the freshest coffee in the city!

Violet stepped out of the car and into the coffee shop. It was about seven thirty in the morning, so people were lining up to get their morning fix. Violet waited in line as she threw her glance around. There were many people here, but none of them was Damon. Once Violet got to the front of the line, a young girl in her early twenties greeted her cheerfully. This was Amy. She was one of Violet's co-workers when she used to work here.

"Welcome to City Coffee, what can I get you-, Oh Violet! It's nice to see you again!" Amy threw her hands up and pulled Violet into a hug. Violet smiled and hugged her back.

"Nice to see you too, Amy! It's been ages!"

"I know! I was so excited all morning, waiting for you to come!"

"Wait, you're expecting me?" Violet looked at Amy in confusion.

"Of course," she nodded her head eagerly. "I got your order ready right here,"

Amy pulled out a cup of coffee and a bag of croissants from underneath the table, and also a single violet rose to accompany it. As always, the rose also had a note attached to it.

"Thank you, Amy," Violet said as she grabbed the things.

"Sure thing," she beamed. "Enjoy!"

Sitting in the car, Violet opened the bag of croissants and picked one out. She offered Beau some, but he said he already had breakfast. Violet smiled brightly at the croissants as they meant something to her. She actually told Damon that she was craving these a few days ago. And now he was sending her here. How thoughtful.

While nibbling on her croissant and sipping the coffee, Violet opened the note to read Damon's next message. it said:

"Now that you've had breakfast, what do you say we do some paperwork? Sign your name at the dotted line for me? -D" Violet cocked her head to the side as she munched on that croissant. What was Damon talking about? What paperwork? "So, where do we go next, Miss Violet?" Beau asked as he put the car in gear.

"Umm..."

Violet thought hard. When did she ever sign her name on the dotted line? And then the memory hit her. Of course! It was when she agreed to sell her virginity to him. That paperwork.

"Back to the house, please!" she told Beau.

About an hour later, Violet was back at the mansion again. She was gone for a few hours, but nothing seemed to change. The mansion was still as quiet and as empty as when she first left early in the morning.

Violet raced up the stairs and went straight into Damon's office, thinking he was gonna be there. She flung the door open and said, "Damon! I can't believe you sent me all over town just to bring me he-"

Violet's jaw fell open. Damon wasn't inside the office. Instead, on the desk was a single violet rose, a document, and a note. Violet approached the desk and her eyes widened in shock. The document was a marriage certificate. Damon had signed it and left hers blank. And the note next to it said:

"Sign here and I'll be yours forever. And if you're brave enough to go into the next room, I'll be yours forever. - D"

Violet couldn't contain her excitement. She grabbed a pen from his desk and signed her name on the dotted line. Smiling from ear to ear, she then grabbed the rose and went into the next room where she knew Damon must be waiting for her. Yes, inside the playroom.

Of course, he'd be in there. Of course.

Violet pushed the door back with a big smile, thinking Damon must be in there. But once she saw the room was empty, her smile fell flat. She looked around in confusion, and then she spotted another single violet rose lying on the bed. Next to the rose was a large red box. Violet approached the rose and the note. The message read:

"Game's not over yet. Wear this and meet me at the place where flowers bloom. - D"

Violet turned to the red box inquisitively. She took the lid off the box and gasped in awe. Inside the box was the most beautiful dress she'd ever seen. It was a long white dress with rose petals embroidered throughout.

Violet didn't waste any time at all. She quickly got out of her clothes and wore the dress. Standing in front of the mirror, Violet saw how the dress fitted her perfectly, even with the baby bump. Spinning around in it, Violet felt beautiful and fierce. She could stay here and look at her reflection forever, but she knew Damon must be waiting.

The place where flowers bloom? Easy. That's the garden.

Violet raced down the stairs and headed straight for the garden. In her mind, she was picturing Damon waiting there for her. But what she saw next was totally beyond her imagination.

Ivy, Talia, and Barbara were all standing in front of her, wearing matching violet-colored dresses. They were smiling and beaming at her, and Talia was holding a bouquet of violet roses.

"Welcome back! We've been waiting for you!" Talia said, stretching out the bouquet to Violet. Violet took the bouquet and looked back up with a confused look.

"What's going on here?" she asked.

Ivy, Talia, and Barbara shared a look with each other and laughed.

"What do you think is going on?" Ivy asked back. She pulled out a gorgeous flower crown and veil from behind her back and went around Violet, fixing the crown on Violet's head. Talia also followed Ivy and helped fix Violet's dress. Looking at all this, Violet finally realized what was happening.

Oh! This... is a wedding! My wedding!
