The Mafia’s Good Wife -
Chapter 72
- Violet -
Dark.
There was nothing but darkness. Violet could feel someone was carrying her, but she didn't know who or what. She couldn't open her eyes or even lift a finger. The last thing she felt was a pair of hands grabbing her. Her face was smothered with some kind of cloth that reeked of chemicals. And the next thing she knew, everything was dark.
"What do you want us to do with her?" she heard a man speak.
"Tie her up. Make sure it's tight. And put her in the back," Celina's voice responded.
Violet felt her hands and feet were being tied up. And then she was laid on some cold metallic thing. She could also hear a car's engine running. Maybe they were putting her in some trunk. Or on the back of some truck.
"Alright. Good work, boys," Celina said triumphantly. "Time to hit the road!"
Moments later, Violet felt that she was moving. She was inside a car. They were taking her somewhere. But where?
Violet wanted to scream. She wanted to get up, kick the door, and run. But although she could hear everything and her brain was clear, her body was immobilized. Fear began to course through her veins as each minute passed and they were driving further and further away.
This was worse than her worst nightmares. This was perhaps the scariest, most terrifying thing that she's had to endure. And it just keeps going and going. And going. And going.
Damon... help me...
~ Damon -
*RING! RING! RING!
The sound of Damon's cell phone ringing pierced the air. He was sitting in his office, in the middle of a meeting with Dylan and some other men. He grabbed his phone to turn it off, but when he saw Liam's name on the caller ID, he quickly answered it. "Talk to me, Liam,"
"Boss, we got them," Liam said reassuringly. "We got Benzino and Celina's location,"
Damon stood up on his feet instinctively. His heart was racing in his chest. Finally, this was the call he had been waiting for all these weeks. "Are you sure?"
"Yes. They're hiding out in Tallahassee, at some warehouse by the Georgia border. I'm sending you the coordinates. My source told me they've got about fifty men left with them. I have twenty with me, but I think we can take 'em. Just tell me what you want me to do," Damon paced around his desk and thought hard. He wanted to tell Liam to go for it. Liam would probably like the challenge too. But this was a risky move and he couldn't risk getting Liam in trouble. Meanwhile, Dylan watched as Damon was walking back and forth. Judging from the look on his face, Dylan knew this was a serious call.
"You hang in there, Liam," Damon said finally. "Keep an eye on them, but be patient. I'm gonna send in some backup. You'll have more men in two hours," "You got it, boss,"
Damon was about to end the call, but he suddenly stopped his tracks. In just two hours' time, Liam would get back up and Celina would be eliminated once and for all. This was a monumental thing. The last piece of the puzzle. Damon felt his blood boil. He wanted to be there himself to make sure everything was over good.
Damon glanced at the clock on the wall. It was about 11 in the morning. Violet and the girls had just left. Now, he could be out on the jet and be in Florida in two hours. They could deal with Benzino in an hour or two, and he'd be back in New York before dinnertime. Dylan was watching Damon's every move with a confused look on his face. Damon threw him a smirk and said to the phone, "Actually, on second thought... I'll see you in two hours,"
- Violet -
It took her a while to regain her consciousness, but Violet finally opened her eyes. The first thing she noticed were these large windows covered up with black plastic bags. The sun outside was shining, but it couldn't shine through the plastic bags covering it. Violet lifted her head up weakly and looked around. There were brick walls all over. She was inside some kind of warehouse where the windows and doors were all covered up. They also sat her on a chair and tied her hands behind her back. Her ankles were also tied to the legs of the chair.
"Well, well, well, look who we have here,"
Violet heard that familiar, menacing voice. She turned to her side and saw Celina standing with a smirk on her face. Around her were several men all dressed in black.
"You made it almost too easy for us, Violet," she said again.
Violet wanted to speak up, but she couldn't. She realized now her mouth was taped shut. She squirmed in her seat, but to no avail.
"Aw, look at her," Celina said tauntingly, taking a step closer to her. She hovered above Violet's head and muttered, "So helpless,"
Violet looked up at Celina with fire in her eyes. She refused to be intimidated, although she was scared shitless on the inside. She was all tied up. Alone. Surrounded by Celina and her men. Who knows how long they will keep her there? Or worse, what will they do to her? *BANG! *
And suddenly, as if to answer her prayer, the door to the warehouse flew open with a loud noise. Damon and his men appeared at the doorway, guns in hand. Celina's men reacted quickly, drawing their guns out too. "Violet!" Damon's yell echoed through the walls.
Damon!
Violet wanted to scream back, but all she could do was squirm.
"Oh, Damon. So glad you're joining my party," Celina said as she stood next to Violet, completely unfazed.
"Let her go, Celina," Damon demanded angrily. His gaze was burning and fumes were coming out of his ears.
"Why would I do that?" Celina scoffed.
"Let her go and we don't have to do this,"
Celina and Damon were locked in a death stare. Damon wasn't joking around, but Celina held her ground. She was a woman with nothing to lose. And Damon had everything to lose.
"I'm sorry, but you're too late, Damon," Celina said finally.
And suddenly, she pulled a gun from behind her back and pointed it at Violet's head. Violet's eyes jerked wide open. The mouth of the gun touched the side of her head and she trembled in response.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on her!" Damon barked. His gun was now pointed at Celina's head.
"Or what?" Celina asked challengingly. "You're gonna kill me like you killed my dad?"
Damon glared daggers at Celina, ready to bring and fire and brimstone over this building. Anyone would've been dead scared if Damon was looking at them like that, but not her. Which made her more dangerous than anything.
"I know I'm not getting out of this alive," Celina said, pausing for a beat before continuing, "But you took something of mine, Damon. So I'm taking something of yours back,"
Damon narrowed his eyes further. His eyes were full of warning.
"Don't even think about it," he said.
"Say goodbye, Damon,"
Celina pulled the safety off her gun and pulled the trigger. Violet's eyes were scrunched shut as she anticipated the worst.
* SPLASH! *
Suddenly and out of nowhere, she was hit with ice cold water to the face. It shocked Violet right to her bones. Her eyes jolted wide open. It took her a moment to realize that what happened before was in her dreams. But this, right now, this was reality. "Wakey-wakey," Celina's taunting voice pulled her in.
Violet blinked several times to get the water off her eyes. She recognized the room that she was in almost instantaneously, and she couldn't believe her eyes.
"...What...?" she croaked in disbelief.
Violet knew this place very well. The room was covered in dark leather from top to bottom. There was a king sized bed in the middle, where Violet was sitting on. Her hands were chained to the poles of the bedpost. There were all sorts of contraptions, machines, and toys all around the room. It had everything a s*x dungeon would ever need. Because yes, this was none other than Damon's playroom.
This is impossible. How did I get here?!
"Welcome home," Celina said as if she could read her mind. "I know how much you must miss this place,"
Celina was standing in front of her at the foot of the bed. In her hand was the leather crop that Damon often used on Violet. She had a menacing grin playing on her face as she tapped the leather crop gently on her hand. A taunting act. "What's wrong?" she cocked her head to the side. "You look very confused,"
Violet had so many questions. But all that could come out was, "... How did you...?"
"How did I know where to find you?" Celina finished her sentence. "That's easy. We've been watching your movements. We know about the first time Damon shut down the mall for you. We could've struck then, but we waited for a better time," Violet swallowed hard. She didn't know Celina had been watching her all this time. Damon spent all his resources and energy trying to locate her, but she was here all along, right under their noses, and they didn't know.
"Why did you take me here?" Violet spoke up finally.
"Because it's the best place to hide," Celina replied as if the answer was obvious.
Violet fell silent, her brain was putting all the pieces together. Was this why Celina was making moves against the New Jersey estate? To drive Damon out and take the place when it was empty?
"It's ironic, really," Celina said again. "Damon flew you guys out of here because he thought we were coming for you. When in actuality, we were hiding out in Florida, waiting for the perfect time to strike. And once he left, this place was unguarded. It was so easy to get inside. And once we're in, that's the end for all of you. Because not only that this is one of the most formidable fortresses in the country, but this is also the last place he'll expect us to be in. He's gonna be looking for you all over the country, but not here," Celina let out a sinister laugh as she walked along the bed, moving closer to Violet. Violet felt the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. Afraid of what Celina will do next.
"How far along are you?" Celina asked suddenly. Her eyes were fixed on Violet's stomach.
Violet didn't feel like answering her, so she kept quiet.
*SMACK! *
Celina slapped the leather crop across Violet's cheek. Her cheek turned red instantly, burning in pain.
"Answer me!" Celina demanded.
"E-eight months," Violet replied. "Almost nine,"
Celina stood tall hovering above her. Her eyes were filled with anger and jealousy.
Leaning down, Celina glanced at her stomach again before muttering, "It should've been mine,"
What?
"W-why are you doing this, Celina?" Violet spoke again, trying to sound as strong as possible. "What do you want from me?"
Celina stood back up and smirked.
"It's simple, really. I want to end you,"
"...What...?"
"You took everything that was important for me. You took Damon away and you killed my dad. Now you're gonna have to pay for what you did,"
