With a cold expression, Loreen stated, "Dad, I'm not interested. Please don't ask me again to get to know him!"

With that, she looked at Charlie and added, "Charlie, let's go inside!"

"You!" Javier chided angrily. "Why are you so stubborn? If you could be with the young master of the Golding family, you wouldn't have to go to Aurous Hill anymore!" Subconsciously, Loreen took a glimpse at Charlie again before she responded to her father in a stern voice, "I like Aurous Hill! I will definitely look for a husband there!"

Javier rebuked, "What are you talking about? There is no prominent family in Aurous Hill! How can you find a suitable candidate there? Besides, how can my daughter marry a man from such a sh*thole?" Disappointed, Loreen answered, "Dad, why have you become so snobbish now?"

"I'm snobbish?" Javier growled. "I'm doing this for your own good!"

At this moment, Loreen's uncle spoke up, "That's enough, Javier. Don't rush it. Let Loreen go in with her friend." 6

Since his brother had spoken, Javier huffed. "Okay, then. You head inside first. I'll let your mom do the talking later!"

Loreen replied in exasperation, "No one should talk me this way!" 3

With that, she immediately went forward, pulled Charlie, and repeated, "Let's go, Charlie."

Charlie was in a rather awkward position since it was Loreen's family affairs, so he quickly followed her into the house. 5

Meanwhile, Javier stomped in frustration, and his brother continued, "Javier, what's wrong with you?"

"What?" Javier asked in confusion. "Why are you asking me that?"

Javier's brother laughed before he said, "Can't you infer anything from the way Loreen was staring at the man next to her? When you asked her to meet the Golding boy, she immediately looked at that guy. I'm sure there's something between them!" 4

"What thing?" Javier blurted. "Brother, are you trying to say that Loreen might like that kid?"

"I think so." Javier's brother continued in a serious tone, "Didn't you hear what Loreen said? They were college mates, which means they knew each other a long time ago. Furthermore, that guy is in Aurous Hill, and so is Loreen. It's possible that they are together since Loreen stays in Aurous Hill." 5

Javier's face turned green. "Damn! That little punk from Aurous Hill dares to make a move on my daughter! This is outrageous!"

Then, he immediately said, "Brother, keep an eye on things here. I'll go ask Loreen about this!"

Javier's brother quickly tugged his arm to stop him. "What's the hurry? If you ask Loreen now and get into a fight, it will ruin mother's birthday banquet! In my opinion, you should hold back for a while and wait until after the banquet to ask Loreen in private."

Javier hesitated for a moment. Nevertheless, he figured that it was not the right time to question his daughter since there were many guests here at his mother's birthday banquet. Hence, he nodded dejectedly and replied, "Fine. How dare that unworthy punk bears wishful thinking upon my daughter!? I'll definitely make him pay for this!"
