Charlie pulled the car over and stopped by the roadside. When Jacob saw him, he felt as though he had seen his savior, and his eyes were gleaming with hope.

Matilda smiled before she said, "I was having a high fever at first, but I seem to have fully recovered as soon as I ate the bowl of millet congee that your father-in-law brought to me!"

Charlie pretended to be surprised and asked, "Can a bowl of congee actually be that magical?! This is the first time that I have ever heard of it!" 7

Matilda smiled as she said, "To be honest, I do not understand it either! However, I have indeed fully recovered, and I feel as though I have endless physical strength!"

Charlie nodded slightly before he looked at Jacob, who was sitting on the ground with a flushed red face as he was sweating profusely, and he joked, "Dad, why didn't you enjoy a bowl of congee too?"

Jacob replied gloomily, "If I knew that the congee would have this kind of effect, I would have bought an extra bowl of the congee, then."

After he was done speaking, Jacob deliberately changed the topic as he pretended to look at Charlie helplessly before he asked, "Oh, Charlie, why are you here so soon? Didn't I ask you to come and pick me up in half an hour? I still have to continue running with your Aunt Hall."

After he was done speaking, Jacob looked at Matilda before he said apologetically, "Matilda, why don't we call it a day, then? I will come and jog with you again when we are free another day, okay?"
