Kathleen had long known of the process and requirements regarding the auction for the Rejuvenating Pill.

However, she still pretended to be surprised in front of Charlie as she listened to his explanation.

Charlie was also playing along with her, deliberately pretending to be convinced that she was Kylie Jane from France, not Kathleen Fox.

Charlie had no intention to expose Kathleen's identity. He wanted to go along with her act, and wait for her to take the initiative to explain the truth to him.

With these thoughts in mind, the two soon arrived at the security inspection channel at the entrance of the ballroom.

Charlie handed a VIP invitation to Kathleen. "Miss Jane, take this invitation and give this to the staff when you go in. The staff will take you directly to the private room on the second floor."

Kathleen asked in surprise, "Mr. Wade, aren't you going in together with me?"

Charlie laughed. "I have a VIP invitation, but my status here is not as a VIP. Rather, I'm a consultant for this auction. So, I'll be sitting in the monitoring room later and I won't be participating in the auction."

"So that's how it is." Kathleen nodded gently in understanding, though was a little disappointed that Charlie wouldn't be going in with her. On second thought, Charlie was the boss in charge of the auction. Naturally, he wouldn't join her in the VIP room and would instead be somewhere that enables him to monitor everything in real time.

Thus, she said, "In that case, I'll go in first. I will contact you immediately after the auction is over, Mr. Wade."

Charlie nodded. "The security check for the auction is very strict. You'll have to give your cell phone and all of your belongings to the security guard, who will place them in a temporary storage before the auction starts. The security guard will return them to you when the auction ends, so there's no need to worry."

"Alright, I understand." Kathleen

really didn't expect the security here to be so strict. It was already bad enough that she couldn't bring in her personal belongings, but they even had to be transported to another place.

After that, Charlie hade goodbye to Kathleen and let her go through the security check while he prepared to return to the monitoring room. The location of the monitoring room was at the back of the ballroom.

The venue for the auction this time was temporarily remodeled from the hotel's dining department. In addition to the large ballroom, there were several other high-end private rooms, Isaac chose a private room which was more than ten meters away from the ballroom. Although the distance was quite close, the sound insulation was very well done so there wouldn't be any noisy interference.

In addition to that, there was also a temporary lounge prepared for Jasmine. Since Jasmine would be the auctioneer for the auction tonight, she would be waiting and resting in the lounge. When Charlie passed by the door of her lounge, the door happened to slightly ajar. Jasmine was walking out from inside when she ran head-on into Charlie.

Surprise colored her crystal-clear eyes as she blurted out, "Master Wade!"

Charlie smiled and said, "Jasmine, how are the preparations going?"

Jasmine shook the card full of manuscripts in her hand and said with a shaky voice, "Preparations were almost done a long time ago, but I'm more or less still nervous."

She added in a small whisper, "To be honest, I've never been an auctioneer before. All these people are rich and well-informed. I'm worried if I can't do a good job and they'll treat me like a joke."

Charlie smiled and comforted her,

"You don't have to be nervous at all. Everyone who came here tonight wouldn't mind tossing their dignity aside for the Rejuvenating Pill. Regardless of whether you perform well or badly tonight, they definitely won't dare to treat you like a joke."
