The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family -
Chapter 3969
As Charlie spoke of this, he could not help but sigh as he said, "It's just that she has already gone to Canada to live her good life now. I cannot bear to make her work hard again."
Jasmine thought about it and said, "Master Wade, the scale of your project is still very large. Even if we have no problem with the funding, it will take at least two or three years for the hardware to go from site selection to construction to completion and to acceptance. Since you intend to set up our own team to operate, I think we don't need to be in a hurry to decide on the person-in-charge right now. We have plenty of time to decide everything slowly." "That's also true." Charlie nodded and said, You can get in touch with the city in regards to the plan first. We will strive for the completion of the site selection as soon as possible so that we can come up with the project design quickly!"
"Okay." Jasmine said, "I'll go and get it sorted as soon as possible."
As Charlie thought of Mrs. Lewis, he thought of calling her and Stephanie to ask how they had been doing recently.
Charlie calculated the time difference taking into consideration that both of them were settled in Vancouver, which was sixteen hours later than Oskia. Therefore, it should be around six o'clock in the evening now, and he should not disturb their rest at this time. So, he said to Jasmine, "Jasmine, I will make a phone call first."
Okay, Master Wade.
Charlie picked up the cell phone, found Stephanie's WhatsApp, and then sent her a voice call.
The call was quickly answered, and Stephanie's delighted voice sounded," Brother Charlie! Why did you suddenly think of calling me?!"
Charlie laughed and said, "I missed you and Mrs. Lewis. So, I decided to call to ask how you guys are doing in Canada. Are the both of you getting used to life there?"
Stephanie smiled and said, "We are doing very well here. I was working in a laundromat in Oskiatown, and Mrs. Lewis has been busy planting and growing her flowers and vegetables in her yard every day. Mrs. Lewis' previous employer gives her a lot of money every month, but Mrs. Lewis thinks that it's too meaningless to be idle every day. Furthermore, the money in
her bank account is just growing bigger and bigger. So, Mrs. Lewis opened a convenience store in Oskiatown, and I'm currently the store manager and cashier of the convenience store!"
Charlie asked in surprise, "You guys opened a convenience store? Is it just you and Mrs. Lewis?"
Stephanie said, "It was just the two of us at the beginning, but after getting on the right track, we were a little too busy, so we recruited another clerk."
Charlie asked, "It must be very tiring to run a convenience store, right?"
"It's fine." Stephanie smiled and said, "Our convenience store is about the same size as the convenience stores that can be seen everywhere in our country, and it has a specialized supplier. The supplier can send the goods directly to the store if we just make a phone call, and we don't have to run over there personally. So, the daily work is also very simple such as collecting money, loading goods, cleaning, and nothing else."
Having said that, Stephanie
continued," Mrs. Lewis works very hard. She is a very nice person, and she is polite to everyone. She is also willing to help others, so although our store hasn't been opened for a long time, we already have a lot of regular customers!"
Charlie hurriedly asked, "Is Mrs. Lewis around? I'd like to have a chat with Mrs.
Stephanie said, "Mrs. Lewis went to the community nursery class to help out." "Nursery class?" Charlie asked, "What kind of place is it?"
Lewis."
Stephanie explained, "It's called Day
Care here. In fact, it's similar to our domestic nursery. For many of the Oskian families here, both parents have to work, and most of the parents are first-generation immigrants who just came here and are struggling. The elderly cannot come over to help for the time being and so, the children can only be sent to the nurseries to be taken care of during the day."
"The community in Oskiatown organized a semi-public welfare nursery class to help those parents take care of their children on weekdays, Mrs. Lewis has been working in the orphanage for so many years, and she knows the best ways to take care of children. She
loves children, and she knows that
the nursery class is short of staff.
So, she volunteered to help, and
now, she is the most popular aunt in
the nursery class!"
Charlie could not help but sigh and say," People like Mrs. Lewis are really like candles. They will always burn themselves out to light others up no matter where they are..."
"Who says it wasn't?" Stephanie smiled and said, "Brother Charlie, Mrs. Lewis is always talking about you. She misses you, and I... I miss you too... If you have time, remember to come and see us!"
