The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family -
Chapter 4018
Charlie smiled in return and said casually," Thank you for your kindness, Andre. I came to Vancouver for a personal errand, but I'd be happy to play a couple of games with you. There's probably nothing that TH need to trouble you with." Charlie raised his brow and let out an easy laugh. "But if you have the opportunity to visit Oskia in future, you can contact me if you encounter any trouble. Do pay attention, I'm talking about the whole Oskia. My influence isn't just limited to a certain city. I'm quite renowned in that country."
Andre felt a little annoyed after hearing this.
The implication behind Charlie's words was clear as day. Charlie had a powerful influence in an entire country, compared to Andre, who only had a tiny fraction of power limited to just a small city.
Andre knew it was a clear jab on him. Charlie was making it clear that he thought little of Andre.
The realization gave rise to a small burst of anger. Andre was seething.
He was a merciless character who wouldn't hesitate to punch anyone who belittled or humiliated him. Often, he would slam the offender's head until it swelled like a fattened pig. Then, he would take a vise and use it to pull off the offender's teeth one by one.
But at the thought of Charlie being the casino's glorified cash dispenser, he held : n his anger. What was there to be upset about with so much cash at stake?
Naturally, Andre wouldn't find anything Charlie did problematic. So, he forced out a laugh and went on warmly, "Since you want to play a couple of games, what exactly do you intend to play?"
Charlie laughed as well. "Anything you want to play. Anyway, it's all just a game to me. I just want to enjoy myself."
Having said that, Charlie unzipped his backpack and poured out two million Canadian dollars' worth of cash on the table. He turned to Gopher and said nonchalantly, "Here. Change all these into chips for me."
The sight of two million Canadian dollars in cash dumbfounded both Gopher and Andre, who went slack-jawed as they stared. They couldn't tear their eyes off the money at all!
Andre had only recently taken his current position of the Italian gang's boss. Thus, his financial resources didn't amount to much. The
Rolls-Royce used to pick Charlie up had been bought with the money he earned from trafficking young girls. The past few days, the casino's business saw a decline and income was unstable. With that said, he had never seen two million Canadian dollars of cash.
How could he push down his excitement when facing a staggering amount of money? Charlie was giving all of it to him, to boot!
The deal didn't cost much. If he could get the money from Charlie, he could take away a 90% cut!
Andre was pumped. His previous displeasure over Charlie's rudeness seemed to have never existed as he turned to Charlie with a grin brighter than the sun." You're really extraordinary, Mr. Wade! In that
case, I'll play along and enjoy a great evening with you, Mr. Wade!"
Having said that, he turned to Gopher and barked, "Hurry up and change the chips! Tell the dealer to come over quickly." "Okay!" Gopher didn't dare dally. He hurriedly scooped all of Charlie's cash and laboriously carried them away.
Very soon, he arranged for two bunny girls to walk in with a large tray full of chips.
The two bunny girls approached Charlie and Andre with the chips and stood by their side. The bunny girl standing next to Charlie kept playing with her hair flirtatiously and spoke to Charlie in a breathy simper, "Sir, here's your two million Canadian dollars' worth of chips. Please check."
Charlie waved his hand, indifferent. "Isn't it 1.98 million Canadian dollars? What's there to check?"
The bunny girl panicked, wondering if she had committed a mistake. "Sir, please don't misunderstand. There's two million Canadian dollars' worth of chips here, and not 1.98 million Canadian dollars... If you're not sure, you can check it for yourself!" Charlie smiled, picked up two ten-thousand -dollar chips, and threw them at the bunny girl with an indifferent smile. "Look. Isn't it 1.98 million Canadian dollars now?"
