At Gopher's threat, Charlie stared at him with an amused smirk. "Wow! You're nearing your death, but you're still trying to harm Stephanie? I'm astonished." Gopher wasn't confident in his chances, but he knew this was his only way of surviving.

Thus, he put on a savage expression and sneered at Charlie, "I've instructed my men to capture her when you were gambling at the casino! If you kill me, Stephanie will never see the light of day!"

Charlie frowned. "Why did you want to kidnap Stephanie? How is a girl like her of any use to you? Or were you able to predict my plans?"

Gopher gritted his teeth and went on, "In certain aristocratic societies, a girl like Stephanie is the strongest hard currency! Hell, she has more value than gold or jewelry! With her exceptional looks and the fact that she's clean and not at all promiscuous, she can fetch up to a million dollars among the rich!"

Then, Gopher added viciously, "Most of the rich men who bid on girls in auctions have mental issues. If they managed to buy the girl, she'd be tortured by all kinds of cruel methods!"

"Many girls ended up being tortured to death in about two to three years. Even if they're lucky enough to survive, the rich men would probably tire of them by then. And when they do, the girls either get killed or are sent to Europe for the mobs to market as prostitutes!"

Gopher gritted his teeth and went on maliciously, "I'm warning you, Wade! If Stephanie got sent to Europe and fell into the hands of the African or Eastern mobs, she'd suffer a tragic fate! Not only do they confine and beat up the women, but they'd also control the women with poison! No woman can survive more than five years!"

"If you don't want Stephanie to share their fates, let me go now! If I can leave Canada alive, I'll instruct my men to let Stephanie g o. After that, we'll have nothing to do with each other anymore!"

Charlie stared at Gopher, very much

amused. He asked curiously, "Gopher, you do realize that the Ten Thousand Armies serve me. Even if you manage to leave Canada alive, how will you escape the Teno Thousand Armies' pursuit?

Fear flashed in Gopher's eyes, but he braced himself. He tried not to stutter as he replied fiercely, "T-then I'll just return to Oskia and turn myself.in! I've committed quite a few crimes back home. Not just phone scams, but also quite a few other things. If I come clean with the police, I get at least ten to twenty years of jail time!"

Charlie nodded with a smile. "Oh, Gopher, you're a gem. You don't care for the police when you break the

law and commit crimes on a dailyet

basis. But the moment you're in trouble, you seek the police for protection. Wouldn't I be shaming them by letting you have your way?"

Gopher said nervously, "A-aren't you afraid that Stephanie...will be missing from and die a tragic death in foreign lands?"

Charlie laughed loudly. "I came all this way to Canada just to protect this little sister of mine. Did you think I'd let you have your way?" Then, Charlie signaled Porter with his eyes.

Porter immediately went to the cabin next door to bring Stephanie out.

Stephanie already knew that Gopher killed Claudia's parents and brothers, but she never imagined that Gopher planned to do something to her too!

The instant she laid eyes on Gopher, contempt and hatred filled her gaze. She didn't say anything, but her glare was enough to do the talking.
