I find it so hard to believe everybody can’t act, it’s so simple to me. I auditioned for a role as a child.

A role to be whoever and whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted it.

And of course, it changed, often.

Be smart, be dumb.

Be good, be bad.

Be serious, be funny.

Be friendly, be mean.

Be happy, not that happy.

This role came with consequences, obviously.

Like, I don’t know,

I will never be myself again.

That person I was before all this,

she lived and she died.

Call her stupid all you want,

She was smart for leaving when she did.
