The Mysterious Luna -
Chapter 24
Jessica POV
I slept surprisingly well, considering everything that went down. I was starting to see a good side to Alpha Colton and somehow felt safe on his territory.
I’m still not sure why he’s protecting me, but I’m grateful. That Alpha Ryan guy, had an evil vibe, I really hope I never see him again.
I wonder, if I really belonged to his pack, before I went into a coma. It’s all so surreal, I can’t believe werewolves exits, let alone think that I might be one.
Alpha Colton, had mentioned a witch was going to come and look at my tattoo, hopefully she can provide me with some answers. I would really like to know who I am and where I belong.
I was brought out of my thoughts, when there was a knock at the door.
“Come in” I said.
The door opened and Alpha Colton stood on the other side of the door.
“Good morning.” I said softly, with a small smile.
“Good morning Jessica, did you sleep ok?” He asked, with a curious look.
“I did, better than I thought I would. Thank you.” I replied truthfully.
“Do you want a tour? We can grab some breakfast, while we are out.” Alpha Colton asked, sounding hopeful.
“That would be great. Thank you.” I replied and gave him a small smile. He seemed excited when I accepted his offer.
“Come with me.” Alpha Colton said and motion for me to leave the room.
I walked beside him down the hall, until we reached the stairs.
We walked down five sets of stairs, until we reached what I believe was the main floor.
It was beautiful, with a very modern decor. The living area had long grey couches, with matching arm chairs and love seats. A large flat screen TV sat on the wall and there was a wooden coffee table and matching side tables positioned around the furniture.
“This is the living room, the doors over there, lead to the kitchen and the one right beside it, leads into the dinner hall. It’s kind of like a buffet setting, all the pack members can come here for their meals and help themselves. There’s enough room inside for everyone to sit and eat together.” Alpha Colton said and I simply nodded, I was in awe at how gorgeous everything was.
“In here, is a lounge with games and a bar.” Alpha Colton said, as he opened a door and showed me inside. I looked in and saw several pool tables, more couches, a TV and bar top tables set around an actual bar. It looked like a great place to unwind at the end of a long day.
“This is amazing.” I said in a soft voice, while taking everything in.
“Come on, let’s go eat. Then I’ll show you the rest.” Alpha Colton said and I followed him out.
We walked into the dinner hall and he was right, It was huge. There were long tables everywhere and it must be rush hour, because the place was packed with people. I got a lot of weird looks and I felt a little awkward.
“We don’t get a lot of new people around here. They’re just curious.” Alpha Colton said, as he glanced at me and took in my awkward state.
“Oh, I understand.” I said lowly.
“Hey Jessica!” I heard Sam’s familiar voice, come from across the room. I glanced around, until my eyes finally landed on Sam, who was seated at a table with Josh and a few other people, that I didn’t recognize.
“Go and sit, I’ll bring you food.” Alpha Colton said and he gave me a small smile.
“Ok. Thank you.” I replied, before quickly making my way over to Sam. I felt relieved, seeing a familiar face in the crowd.
“Oh my god, isn’t this place amazing?” Sam squealed excited, when I walked up to the table.
“It really is.” I replied, in a low voice, while glancing at everyone seated at the table.
“Let me introduce you to everyone. This is Kyle, you saw him when you were here last time, but I don’t think you actually met him.” Josh said, while motioning towards a muscular man, with brown hair. Kyle nodded his head and gave me a small smile.
“That’s his mat… I mean wife, Tia.” Josh continued his introductions and nodded his head towards the woman, that was seated next to Kyle. She was pretty, with long brown hair and blue eyes. She smiled at me and I got a good vibe from her.
“Finally, this is Heather.” Josh said, while nodding his head towards another woman, that was seated at the table. She had a fake smile on her face, but I could see right through it. She didn’t seem happy about my presence.
“Who is she?” Heather asked Josh, with an irritated tone. Josh looked uncomfortable, but before he could answer, I heard Alpha Colton speak form behind me.
“She is my guest and her name is Jessica.” He said sternly and I swear, I could feel a powerful aura surround me, when he spoke. I watched, as Heather dropped her head and it almost seemed like she was bowing to him.
“Take a seat, Jessica.” Alpha Colton instructed, as he put a plate of food down, in front of an empty seat. I quickly took the seat, hating how all the attention was on me.
I looked at the plate and there was a bit of everything, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruit and toast. There was enough to feed an army.
“I didn’t know what you like, so I got you a bit of everything.” Alpha Colton said, as he took the seat next to me.
“No, this is perfect. Thank you.” I replied and smiled at him.
I swear, I heard a growl come from Heather and when I glanced over at her, she looked like she was radiating with anger. I wonder what her problem is?
“Did you see the lounge Jess? We have to go play pool later tonight.” Sam asked excitedly. I swear the girl is acting like we’re on vacation. She has no clue what’s really going on.
“I did, it’s amazing.” I replied.
“We can go tonight and have a little fun, maybe the serious guy over here, might join us.” Josh suggested and nodded his head towards Alpha Colton.
“Sounds good.” I replied and glanced over at Alpha Colton, who was glaring at Josh. I wonder what that’s about. He never said anything.
We fished our breakfast and Alpha Colton offered to continue the tour. Heather glared at me, when I left the dinner hall with him. I wonder if she’s a girlfriend or something. She seems to be angry, at the attention he’s giving me.
I was brought out of my thoughts when Alpha Colton spoke.
“This is my office, if you can’t find me, look here. I spend most of my time in there.” He said and opened a door that lead into an office.
It was simple, yet big, with a desk in the middle, a couch and armchair positioned in front of a fire place and a book shelf with hundreds of books.
“I think you’ve seen the important stuff inside, let’s go for a walk outside.” Alpha Colton suggested and I nodded my head.
We made our way outside and started to walk around the village. It was sunny, yet still cold out. A chill ran down my spine, as a breeze blew past us.
“Here, take this.” Alpha Colton said, while taking his sweater off and offering it to me.
“Oh no, I’m ok.” I tried to argue, but he didn’t listen and wrapped the sweater around my shoulders.
I instantly felt warm and couldn’t help but inhale deeply. His scent was intoxicating and I loved having it wrapped around my body. It calmed me and aroused me, all at the same time. It was embarrassing, why would I be aroused, simple by his scent. I swear, he could tell some how, his eyes turned black and he kept inhaling deeply.
“What’s that over there?” I asked, trying to distract him, from whatever was going on.
“That’s a school for our kids.” He replied.
“What about that one?” I asked, pointing to another building.
“That’s the hospital.” He replied, while glancing down at me.
“Wow, you guys really have everything you need here, in your little village.” I said, with a surprised tone.
“It’s called a pack and yes, we have everything we need.” He replied and chuckle lightly. I couldn’t help but look up at him. It was the first time I heard him laugh and it sounded so good. I smiled up at him.
“What?” he asked curiously.
“It’s the first time I heard you laugh, It suites you. You should do it more often.” I replied in a soft voice and quickly looked away from him. Why the hell would I say that? He never replied.
I didn’t realize, that we had made it into the forest. There was no one around and the buildings were no longer insight.
“Where are we?” I asked nervously.
“This is my territory border. Don’t go past this point, ok?” Alpha Colton replied, with a stern tone and I nodded.
We started to walk back the way we came, in silence. When I decided to speak.
“Can I see your wolf, again?” I asked hesitantly. I was really curious about the whole werewolf thing. I wanted to see it, now that I wasn’t scared for my life.
He glanced down at me curiously, before he replied.
“You really want to see him?” He asked, with an eyebrow raised.
“I do.” I replied, barely above a whisper.
“His names Hector, he won’t hurt you.” Alpha Colton said and I nodded.
I watched, as Alpha Colton took off his shirt and I quickly looked away.
“I need to take my clothes off, before shifting. If I leave them on, they get shredded.” Alpha Colton explained. I couldn’t help, but peak over at him. His eyes met mine and I saw a slight amused smirk on his face. I instantly blushed with embarrassment and covered my eyes with my hand.
“Does it hurt?” I asked curiously.
“Not anymore. When you first shift, it’s painful, but the more you do it, the less it hurts. Now, it just feels like I’m cracking my knuckles.” He replied.
“You ready?” He asked and I simply nodded.
I heard the sound of bones cracking and I immediately looked over to Alpha Colton. I watched as his body contorted from his human shape, into a wolf.
My eyes grew wide in shock, when he no longer stood as a man in front of me, but rather a large black wolf.
His ears laid flat against his head, as he moved slowly towards me. My heart was beating fast, I was both scared and excited. He was gorgeous, his black fur practically shimmered in the sun.
When he was directly in front of me, he stopped for a moment, watching my reaction. When I didn’t panic, he brushed his head against my hand and I couldn’t help, the nervous giggle that left my lips. He was acting like a big dog, that wanted me to pet him.
I nervously reached up and pet the top of his head with my hand, his fur was so soft and I swear I heard him purr. He was enjoying this, I thought to myself.
I sat down on the ground and Hector curled up next to me, laying his big fury head on my lap. I should of been scared, but I wasn’t. It didn’t take me long, to feel completely comfortable around Hector.
