Alpha Colton POV

The witch definitely had some interesting things to say. I could tell Jessica was having a tough time processing everything. She was pretty quiet, throughout the entire meeting.

I was a little concerned, when the witch said that Beth was part of the Cold Stone Pack. That means, that Alpha Ryan was likely telling the truth and Jessica did come from his pack.

I wonder why Beth was trying to hide Jessica? I’m guessing, it has something to do with Alpha Ryan.

I glanced up at Jessica, now that we were alone and could see how stressed she was.

“How are you holding up?” I asked, as softly as I could.

“I don’t know anymore, I’m frustrated that I can’t remember anything. She claims, that my parents could be a witch and a werewolf, it’s a lot to wrap my head around.” She replied, while shaking her head in disbelief.

“We will get answers.” I tried to reassure her.

“Why were you and Josh mind-linking, when she brought up the Cold Stone Pack?” She asked and looked at me curiously.

“That’s Alpha Ryan’s pack.” I replied in a serious tone. Her eyes widened at the mention of his name.

“So, he might of been telling the truth? I might of lived on his territory, before the coma? Maybe, I have family there?” She said and I could hear the panic starting rise in her voices.

“Maybe, I promise we will find out, ok? I’m going to do everything in my power, to help you figure out who you are. Do you trust me?” I asked and I watched her carefully. I really want her to trust me, so did Hector.

She looked at me for a moment, before answering, I could see confusion and hesitancy in her eyes, as she thought about my question.

“I do.” She finally answered, in a soft voice and I could tell she was being truthful. I felt relieved at her answer and happy that she actually did trust me. Now, I just need to make sure, that I don’t let her down.

“I’m going back to my room for a bit. Thank you for everything.” She said and I could hear sadness in her voice. It was killing me inside, that there was nothing I could do, to make her feel better. My wolf was whining in my head, begging me to wrap my arms around her and comfort her. But I have a feeling, that would only add to her confusion.

“Ok, I’ll be here. If you need anything just ask.” I said sincerely. She nodded her head and gave me a small smile, that didn’t reach her eyes, before she left my office. I let out a heavy sigh. Goddess, I need to find some answers for her.

Hector was also acting weird, like he recognized the scent, but couldn’t figure out why.

I was brought out of my thoughts, when Josh returned to my office and sat across from me.

“What now?” He asked, with a frown.

“I’m going to contact a few other Alpha’s. Maybe someone knows, of a witch named Beth. Finding her, is going to be our top priority.” I replied.

“What could you smell, when you were close to Jessica?” Josh asked curiously.

“I definitely smelt her wolf, but there were other smells mixed in. It’s hard to explain, but as mild as it was, I couldn’t get enough of it.” I replied truthfully, while thinking about how good she smelt.

“And, you still don’t think she’s your mate?” Josh asked, with an eyebrow raised. I glared at him, but I was starting to second guess myself. I was literally salivating, when I first pick up her faint scent. Could she be my mate? I still don’t believe it, but Josh is certainly messing with my brain.

“Either way, right now we need to focus on getting some answers for her.” I replied, trying to avoid his question.

“Ok, we are making progress, at least you didn’t deny it this time. Maybe all the clues, are finally sinking into that thick skull of yours.” Josh said, with slight smirk on his face. Before I could reply, he spoke again.

“I’m going to check on the girls, maybe I can cheer up Jessica a little.” Josh said and gave me a mischievous wink.

“f**k off!” I growl out, as he left my office. Why can’t he just be serious for one day.

Josh POV

I couldn’t help but throw a couple jabs at Alpha Colton, before I left his office. The man’s so stubborn, he continues to deny the possibility that Jessica is his mate, even when all the signs are right in his face.

I mean, the guy freaken growled at me, for smelling the air around her. How much more possessive can you get.

Sam and I, need to keep pushing them together. I think Jessica would be a way better Luna, then Heather could ever be. Im going to make sure Alpha Colton sees that.
