Chapter 51

Jessica POV

I don’t know what came over me, but as much as I tried, I couldn’t stop touching and smelling Alpha Colton. It was embarrassing. My wolf was practically purring in my head, being near her mate. It feels weird having her back with me, after being on my own for so long, but I truly did miss her. She was my best friend, from the first day that I shifted.

I can’t believe that Alpha Colton is my mate. I wonder how he feels about the news. I mean, I know he’s attracted to me, I can sense his desire. I’ve even felt his hardened manhood against me a couple of time. I blushed just at the thought. I knew he was trying his best to stay in control when I straddled him. His eyes kept going from light to dark, telling me that his wolf was trying to take control. I kinda wanted him to lose it, I was barely holding on to my own wolf.

I was laying on top of him in bed. He had his arms wrapped around my body and we laid there in comfortable silence. Enjoying the closeness to one another, when there was a knock at the door. I went to get up, but Alpha Colton held me in place.

“Come in” Alpha Colton announced.

The door opened and one of the female omegas came in pushing a cart full of food with her. She glanced over at us with a surprised look on her face, but quickly bowed her head in submission.

“Alpha, I brought the dinner you requested.” She announced.

“Thank you. You can leave it over there by the coffee table.” He replied. She quickly pushed the cart over to where Alpha Colton had instructed her to put it.

“Is there anything else I can get for you, Alpha?” She questioned.

“No that’s everything.” He replied with a nod. I was feeling embarrassed that he had that entire conversation, while I laid on top of him. I buried my face in the crook of his neck, trying to hide the blush on my cheeks.

The omega quickly left the room, closing the door being her.

“You ready for dinner?” Alpha Colton asked and finally releasing my body so I could pull away.

“Yes, please.” I replied, feeling relived that we were alone again. I got up from the bed and Alpha Colton followed close behind.

We reached the couch and he sat down, before grabbing me by the waist and pulling me onto his lap. I yelped, at the unexpected action.

“Sorry, my wolf is a little possessive. Now that he knows you’re our mate, he doesn’t want to let you go.” He said sheepishly.

“That’s ok, my wolf is liking the contact.” I replied truthfully. What I didn’t mention was that it wasn’t just my wolf enjoying the contact, I was also all for it.

Alpha Colton reached for the cart and pulled one of the plates over. It smelt and looked delicious. There was charred broccolini, blackened chicken and buttery mashed potatoes.

My stomach grumbled and at the same time, a m**n of approval left my lips. I quickly covered my mouth, feeling embarrassed at the sound that just left my lips. Alpha Colton laughed. The sound of his laughter brought a smile to my face. I like hearing him happy, he always seems so serious.

“You must be hungry, you haven’t eaten anything since this morning. Here.” He said, handing me the plate.

“Thank you.” I replied, while taking the plate and placing it on my lap. I started to eat and noticed that he wasn’t. I felt self conscious all of a sudden, I was eating and he was simply watching me.

“Are you not going to eat.” I asked shyly.

“No, I’m not really hungry. Plus, I can’t seem to take my eyes off you.” He said in a deep husky voice. The sound alone, made arousal flow straight to my core. I swallowed deeply, trying to think of anything else but how sexy his voice was.

“Tell me about yourself, Jess. Now that you remember your life.” He asked and I was thankful that he changed the subject.

“Well, I grew up in the Cold Stone pack, with my mother Beth and Father, Greg. I’m an only child and was extremely close to both my parents. I was definitely daddy’s little girl growing up.” I replied with a smile, but it quickly fell when I thought about my father. I felt Alpha Colton’s hand rubbing circles on my back. His touch alone was comforting. I let a sigh, before continuing.

“Sorry, I just can’t believe he’s gone. He sacrificed his life for me and I never even got to say goodbye.” I continued, while wiping a tear that slowly ran down my cheek. He grabbed the plate that was still on my lap and put it back on the cart, before pulling me into his chest.

“Don’t apologize, you got hit with a lot all at once. You haven’t had the chance to morn for the loss of your father. Maybe we can have a special grave made somewhere on the territory, for you and your mom to properly say goodbye.” Alpha Colton suggested and I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face. I pulled my face away from his body so I could look him in the eyes.

“I would really appreciate that.” I replied truthfully. I knew my mother would appreciate the gesture as well.

“We will make the arrangements tomorrow.” He said, with a satisfied look on his face after seeing my appreciative smile. I decided to keep telling him about myself to brighten the mood a bit.

“Anyway, at my old pack I really enjoyed training. My father started me from a young age, he always wanted me to be prepared. When I got my wolf, I did a lot of training with her as well.” I continued.

“What’s your wolf’s name? Hector is excited to meet her.” Alpha Colton asked curiously.

“Jasmine, she’s amazing. From the first time I shifted, she became my best friend. She’s strong and fast with a good sense of humour. I know her and Hector will get along great.” I replied, with a smile.

“Maybe tomorrow we can go for a run?” He suggested, with a hopeful look in his eyes.

“That sounds great. She’s been pretty restless, since she hasn’t been out for a while.” I replied.

“What about your witch abilities? Do you know anything about them?” He asked curiously.

“No, not really. My parents always told me not use them. They didn’t want anyone from my old pack realizing that I inherited both, a wolf and magic. I had sometimes unintentionally used my magic, but I don’t know how and I don’t even know my full potential.” I replied with a frown. I would really like to know more about my witch side. I wonder if my mother will help me explore my abilities, now that I’m no longer in danger.

“I’m sure your mother will help you with that.” Alpha Colton replied, as if he was reading my thoughts. I simply smiled.

“What about you? Tell me about yourself.” I asked, changing the subject. He smiled lightly, but hesitated before speaking. I could tell he was conflicted, he didn’t seem to like the the idea of talking about his past.

“I’m sorry, you don’t ha…” I started to apologized, but he cut me off.

“No, it’s ok. I just don’t talk about my family much.” He said. I remained quiet and gave him time to continue, whenever he felt ready.

“I am an only child. My parents were the Alpha and Luna of this pack and ruled with honour. Unfortunately, my parents where betrayed by one of my fathers closest friends, when I was 18 years old. He had been working with one of our enemy packs, without my father realizing it. One night, while my mother and father were out for a run, they were ambushed and killed just outside our border. I heard their mind-link before they died, asking for backup. I ran to them as fast as I could, but it was too late. When I reached them, they had already been ripped to shreds and laid in a pool of their own b***d. I lost control that night and led my pack to war. We completely slaughter those responsible for their deaths, including my fathers, so called friend. I’ve had trust issues ever since that night.” He said, I could see how much it pained him to think about his parents.

“I’m sorry.” I said softly, while hugging him tightly. His story explains a lot. I now understand, why he acted the way he did with me, when I first stumbled onto his territory.

“I took over as Alpha, after they died. I was angry and thirsty for b***d, but luckily I had Josh by my side. He was good at making me see reason, him and my Gamma where the only people I truly trusted.” He continued. I knew him and Josh had a tight relationship, they acted like siblings sometimes. I just hope he can learn to trust me, as much as he trusts them.

“Thanks for sharing that, with me.” I said, while giving him a soft smile.

“I’m sorry for how I treated you at the beginning. There’s no excuse for what I did, but hopefully you understand a bit better.” He continued.

“It’s all behind us now.” I replied, before a yawn left my lips.

“You’re still not back to full strength. You had a crazy day. Let’s get some sleep and we can talk some more tomorrow.” He suggested and I simply nodded.

I got up from his lap and made my way to the bathroom. Once I was done washing my face and brushing my teeth, I came back out to find Alpha Colton sitting on the bed in only his boxers. I swear, I’ll never stop getting aroused at the sight of this man’s perfect body. I couldn’t help but let my eyes trail down his rock hard chest. I subconsciously licked my lips, wanting nothing more than to devour him whole.

“Stop doing that.” He growled and I looked at him confused.

“What?” I asked.

“Licking your lips.” He said said, but now there were the slightest playful smirk on his face. I quickly looked away. I can’t believe I did it, I thought to myself and internally face planted.

“Here, I like it when you smell like me.” He said, while handing me another one of his T-shirts to wear.

“Thank you.” I replied and took the shirt. I’m not going to lie, I was happy to wear it. His scent helps me relax and makes sleep come easier.

Once we were in bed, he pulled my body against his, spooning me from behind. I instantly relaxed and felt extremely tired all of a sudden.

“I’m going to The Cold Stone Pack tomorrow evening, for a night. When I get back, I would like to take you away for a night. Just the two of us.” He said, in a low husky voice, right next to my ear. I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face. I was feeling more and more comfortable with Alpha Colton, as we spent time together.

“That sounds amazing.” I replied, unable to hold back the excitedly in my voice.

“Sleep, my beautiful mate.” He whispered into my ear, before kissing my neck gently. I shivered at the sensation and instantly relaxed into his embrace. It didn’t take long for sleep to consume me.
