The Prince’s Abused Mate – Chapter 12

When I’m home, I help the staff cook dinner. We prepare enough food for everyone since we are having guests coming.

I’m eating with them today because dad is Introducing his new girlfriend and he wants to show her that we are a united front and told us to not bicker or be mean to each other, I wouldn’t call how they treat me bickering but oh well.

We are in the living area, all dressed to impress his new girlfriend. Lulu and I are curled up on the sofa while the twins and Arad are standing by the fireplace, drinking.

” Couldn’t you wear a dress, Amara?” Lisa hisses, glaring at me. I’m wearing boyfriend jeans and a tank top under my Cardigan.

” I don’t feel comfortable in tight clothing,” I say softly.

” You have a sexy figure. Show it off! Gosh!” Arad adds, Lisa, pouts and slaps his shoulder, annoyed.

He comforts her by saying something terrible to me and now, Lisa is smiling. They share a deep k**s and Lulu and I g***n at the same time.

Dad comes into the room, he’s dressed in an expensive suit and has nicely combed his hair.

” You look, handsome Dad,”

Alice compliments him.

” Thanks, hun, Arad make yourself useful and get me a drink?”

The arrogant Arad scowls and answers,

” I’m not a waiter. Hottie, get him a drink,” he points at me. Did I tell you I can’t stand him?

” She’s not a waitress! No, we are cuddling here,” my baby sister responds fiercely. I k**s her hair.

Dad is pacing around with a drink in his hand, hoping she hasn’t changed her mind. I see his head over heels for her.

Ding ding. As soon as the doorbell rings dad becomes alert.

” Guys, let’s go to the door now. Lushomo, you hold my hand,”

We are standing in a straight line, behind dad. The maid opens the door and a woman appears on the door. She is tall, with a slim face, and thin lips that she has overlined with red lipstick on it. Her hair is thick and dark with waves at the end. She is wearing a dark ensemble under a red coat with matching high heels.

Her neck tilts to us and her cold blue eyes assess each one of us before coming in. She smiles and enters the room.

” Darling, I missed you,” her voice is thick. They connect their lips for a k**s and I cringe as they make up as though we were not there. So uncomfortable.

” Eew, Daddy,” The twins g***n.

The two love birds pull apart, their nose is still touching as they giggle.

” Girls, this is my new love, Veronica Rodriguez,” Dad sounds so happy and Veronica Rodriguez looks into him as well as they can’t keep their hands off each other.

She greets us with zeal and smiles before taking off her long coat and giving it to a maid who was standing close by.

” Well, and this is my cousin Ricky!” She says as a tall man makes his entrance. Ricky is bulky but not too much. He looks to be in his late twenties and has a beard that’s trimmed nicely. Alice is fidging in happiness as she unknowingly grips my arm.

” He’s so mine!” I take my hand away. We are introduced and we go to the dining room. The food is nice and both Ricky and Veronica praise my cooking.

We are told that the Rodriguez is a family of rogues in Spain. Their pack was destroyed by a rival gang so they didn’t join another. Instead, they started a club of rogues and became one of the most powerful rogues around and Ricky is second in command.

I don’t pay full attention as he talks about his achievement and how great he is. He is very entitled from what I can see. All I want is for this dinner to be over so that I can meet prince Ahyan at the party tonight. My wolf giggles.

” Isn’t that right, Amara,” for a second I look at Ricky dumbfounded, he is smiling at me, waiting for an answer but I was unable to hear what he said.

” Excuse me?” I stutter my words again. The twins and Arad g***n.

” Forget it, talk about you,” Ricky still has a smile that Is making me uncomfortable.

” Oh, there is nothing to know about me,” I say quietly.

” She’s right, she’s not interesting in any way,” Lisa smiles tightly.

” She’s just a menace,” adds Alice who looks displeased that her new crush seems Interested in me.

” Now now, that’s not a good thing to say to your sister, girls,” Says dad’s new girlfriend. She is looking at my father to see what he will say but he is quietly eating.

” Aren’t you going to tell them something? They have been throwing jabs at her the whole evening,” Veronica has stopped eating and focused on Dad who now looks uncomfortable

” They hit her and dad doesn’t do anything, they don’t like Amara because she’s not their real sister,” it’s lulu who says sadly and her dad glares at her.

” Lulu,” however, lulu doesn’t give him attention as she faces the lady and continues

” But I love her! She’s the best sister in the world!”

” You don’t say things like that!” After that, the table goes quiet as Ricky and Veronica look at me with sympathy. She eyes my father once more before abruptly getting to her feet.

” Excuse me,” she goes into the main room and Mr. Adamson follows her but not before glaring at me. If eyes could kill I would be five feet deep inside the grave.

Arad tries to bring in some conversation about his time serving the army but none of us are paying attention, not even Lisa

” Can I have my dessert now?” Lulu asks, I nod and get up from the table. I bring her a pick of chocolate cake and she accepts it happily.

I watch her eat with a smile. I feel Ricky’s eyes on me but I don’t face him. When she’s done, I excuse myself to get her ready for bed and get ready for the party
