The Prince’s Abused Mate – Chapter 9

My body is shaking while I hold my sister close, she is insisting we walk but my legs are rooted in my tracks. I’m looking around frantically for anyone but suddenly the streets are secluded and there is no one guard in sight. I listen closely and hear the chattering of little kids. We are not far from Lulu’s school.

” Let’s go,” I feel her tugging my pants. I nod slowly and begin to walk. My eyes are on the car, it has stopped moving and the windows are still rolled up but that voice was the voice I heard a few years ago, It’s gentle and kind. I breathe in and convince my mind I just made it up. We begin to walk and I realize the car has stopped following us but I’m still thinking about that vampire.

I search my brain for the name he mentioned last time.

” Prince Aiden,” I softly whisper to myself, he was a vampire meaning, he can’t be in the city and roam around, without any royal guards. I heard in class that the king and queen are planning on bringing the supernatural together.

No more bickering or fighting, they are to sign a peace treaty.

Soon, we reach the school. Lulu audibly sighs and frowns.

” What is it?” I ask, concerned. She is silent and I follow her eyes, she is looking at a group of boys, specifically at the black jet-haired boy, he has blue eyes and a cute face.

” Who is that?”

” That’s Prince William, he’s the third Prince of wolves, he and his twin sister go here and I have a huge crush on them,” she finishes in a dreamy tone even holding her cheek with a smile. I squint my eyes in confusion.

” You mean him?”

” Yeah, whatever but I find princess Venice cute too,” she shrugs her shoulders nonchalantly.

The school bell blares and I push her towards the gate. She walks a few steps and looks back at me. She waves and sends a flying k**s to me. I catch it and place a hand on my chest.

” All the best in your test today!”

” I love you,” I say as I back away slowly, as I turn to walk away, I bump into someone. I stagger a few feet when I take a tumble on a stone, I brace myself for a harsh landing on the ground but I don’t as strong hands are holding me by my waist.

” I love you too, now easy, don’t break your back,” his voice is deep and soft, we are so close and my cheeks flush red. Prince Ahyan is softly smiling down at me. We stand straight and I bow to him. I turn to leave but he grabs my wrist.

” I’m going to talk to my brother’s teacher, can you wait here?” His voice is smooth as he talks and I’m watching his lips move. I lick my lips and swallow, he chuckles noticing what I did.

I close my eyes in embarrassment and turn away from him.

My wolf’s laughter echos in my head to add to my shame

” I’m sorry my Prince… I… I should… get ready for class,” those words were so hard to pronounce. I’m breathing heavily.

” What time is your class?” He asks.

” 10. 30,” I answer softly. I can’t meet his eyes. He walks softly to me and casually caresses my hair

” I’ll take you home and wait for you, I have class around that time as well,” he insists. I only nod. He smiles again and I widen my eyes, that is the second time he has smiled today, it has never happened before!

I lean against his shiny black car as I watch him go into the school but he comes back quickly.

” Oh, how rude of me. It’s cold, wait in the car,” he says. I nod and timidly open the car door to the passager seat. I look around the car, I’ve never been in a car like this before. It has shiny leather seats and I can see the sky through the glass roof. I inhale deeply, It smells just like him.

Panic sets in me as I realize where I am, I’m in Prince Ahyan’s car! He asked me to wait here for him. Did I do something wrong? Oh my, what If Debra finds out, now she will make my life more difficult. I grab the door to open but it doesn’t. I struggle a bit with it. Did the prince lock me in here? I try to press random buttons to see if the roof of the car might open and I can go through there but it doesn’t. However, my wolf is very calm, she is breathing in his musk while I’m fully panicking. I hate being locked up.

‘ Help me here!’ I exclaim. She ignores me. Rhudo is crazy about Ahyan since the first day we saw him.

‘ Relax, we are fine,’ She is confident. Slowly I start to feel claustrophobic, It started thanks to my sisters locking me up in small places. I close my eyes and put my legs on the seat while hugging and rocking myself to soothe. I hum a calming song.

I hear the sound of the door click and see him on the other side. I immediately open in and get out, I fall to the ground, taking a deep breath. Ahyan rushes to me, he crouches down and cups my face.

” Are you alright, what is wrong,” he sounds agitated.

” You can’t lock me up like that Prince Ahyan,” I cry, tears are streaming down my cheek and I wipe them fast.

” I was so scared. I felt like I couldn’t breathe,” I confess.

The Prince is lost for words, all he does is hug me tightly against him and I bury my face in his chest, he’s so warm.

” You’re okay now,” he coos and I feel him k**s my hair. I don’t know how long we were there but he only pulls away when his phone rings. I get to my feet and look anywhere but him. Feeling embarrassed.

” I’ll walk you home?” He says as a question. ” I’m sure you wouldn’t want to get back in there,”

” I can walk there alone,” I say quietly.

I begin to walk but I feel him next to him. I look up to him for a second and our eyes meet. I look away quickly.

” I didn’t know you’re claustrophobic,”

” It’s not serious,” I say.

” I’m sorry for locking you in, Amara,” never in my life has hearing my name from another person made me feel nice. It sounds so sexy on his tongue. I love how he says it. I smile and he notices

” You smile,” he sounds amused. I chuckle and he stops in his tracks. His gaze on me is intense and I ask,

” What?”

” You have the most beautiful laughter, now why haven’t I heard it before?” He asks.

” Why haven’t I heard you laugh,” I retort boldly. Just as I don’t often laugh, I’ve only seen him smile today and the last time was when he won a game.

” Touché,”

” This is the first time you and I are interacting,” I say softly.
