The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 57
She heard him swiftly moving behind her. He was like a predator hunting it's prey. Indigo was pushing herself forward though her legs felt like they would give out at any moment and her lungs burned. She was no match for him but she had to try. She had under estimated him before and this was where it led her.
She felt his large hands harshly dig into her hair pulling her back and she cried out in pain. It felt as if her hair was tearing out by the roots and she screamed when he flung her against the wall. She breathed in dirt and rolled over to see him standing over her. She tried scrambling backwards and when she looked up she saw the orange glow of his wolf in his eyes.
"Where the hell do you think you are going?!" he shouted and she could see the anger painting his face. Castor bent down to grab her but she tried to claw against him as he reached for her wrists.
"You're a monster!" she spat at him trying to escape his grasp.
"Come here you little witch!" he grabbed her arms so hard they felt like they were tearing out of the sockets.
She cried bitterly as he dragged her on the floor back to the room.
"I'm going to make sure the next time I tie you up you have no way to escape." he growled at her and she was terrified.
Castor slammed her head against the floor ignoring her pleas. She felt the desperation flooding her. She couldn't go back in there in those chains, in those conditions. It would be worse now that she had tried to escape. Against all she had left, she dug deep inside to try and make him go unconscious.
"Somium ignari!" she spewed out with all the strength she had left, praying it worked. If the moon goddess was going to show up for her or whatever it was out there that was watching over her this was the time. His hand shot out to cover her mouth but it was too late. Indigo lashed her head sideways ignoring his hands and biting at him. Castor felt it hit him and he lost all function. His body swayed and then crashed forward towards her. Indigo moved to the side as he tumbled down. She cried for awhile before looking beside her at the blonde head of hair. He was out cold.
Indigo was surprised it worked but she guessed she had more in her than she thought, especially now that she was breathing fresh air. She could feel the seat rolling along her hairline and she shivered. She was so tired she was losing consciousness. She couldn't risk being in here another second with him. She didn't know how long he would be out for and all she wanted to do was lie there and rest. She shook the feeling and pulled her self along the dirt trying to catch her breath.
Her vision was getting dim as she struggled to get up, leaning against the wall and her fingers found the handle. Indigo pushed open the door. Where the hell had he taken her?
She tried to hurry through but her legs could only carry her so fast. The light was blinding and she raised her hands to shield her eyes, squinting her face against the harsh rays of the sun. It took a while for her eyes to adjust to where she was. She was in what looked like a ruined and abandoned greenhouse? Broken glass was lying in some places on the floor while wild green plants ran everywhere from the outside. There was dirt and decay strewn everywhere along with cracked pots.
She hurried through the stalls trying to breathe as much fresh air in her lungs. She didn't stop to look back until she was outside and panic started to envelope her. She didn't know where she was and she didn't know how long he would be out in there. He could find her and take her back. She was finally in what looked like a well developed garden of some sort that needed some serious tending and her stomach felt sick. She reached behind her to hold onto the door frame looking around for her next move. "Indigo!"
She heard his voice call and her blood ran cold. He was coming for her. She ran towards the back of the building as fast as she could. Something glistening caught her eye. It was giving off reflection with it's blue water. There was a small lake nearby. She ran full speed ahead towards the lake ignoring all the aches and pain in her body. Castor felt slightly groggy from whatever the witch had done. He had followed her scent and now he couldn't believe was watching her sprint towards the large body of water. He sprinted towards her but he was too late. Indigo stopped when she reached the edge of the water and sobbed. She had never been so relieved in her life to see water. She glanced behind her to see Castor coming for her and she jumped in it letting it surround her, glad that she would finally be free.
Castor cursed out loud as he got to the edge and stood over the water watching it ripple. She was gone in a flash of light and all that remained was his cold face staring back at him. He knew there was no reason for him to dive in. There was a reason she was located in a shack near the waterfront. Water was her main element.
He was impressed she had even found a way out, not bad for a witch. Apprehension made the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Now he had to find her fast before she got her strength back. If she was smart she would leave and run before the Lycans or whoever caught up to her. If she were to tell anyone about what had happened, then who would believe her without proof? No one in Lycan court would believe her, they would believe his words and sentence her to death. He was more afraid of what she would do in retribution, she would bring a world of problems. She knew what he was after and could try and ruin his chance to mate with Kiarra come this mating ceremony. With the ceremony all but a few days away she could ruin everything he had worked so hard for. Kiarra had just started to forget the mistake of an alpha and warm up to him. He was the number one choice. He would try and find the witch and be on the look out.
He frowned deeply at the claws marks on his shirt that she had given him during their little tussle. They had healed but his expensive shirt was torn.
