Blair POV

I sat on my mate's lap, fighting the urge to play on his laptop, as he discussed negotiations with Alpha Cody and James before everyone began to sign the treaty. I was a little stunned when the paper was pushed my way, blinking at them all. "Did I miss something?" I asked and my mate gave a low chuckle as Alpha Cody and James grinned.

"As the future Queen Luna, it seems only fitting that you should add your signature to the treaty" my mate explained calmly "it's me affording you the proper respect as my mate."

Oh. Alpha Cody was nodding and James was chuckling at the look on my face.

Very well then. I picked up the pen that was sitting on the formal-looking paperwork. I began to peruse the legality of it all. "Don't you trust me?" my mate asked.

"I'm making sure you didn't include me in it as some sort of reward" I teased and he chuckled while Alpha Cody grinned. "King Braedon if you wish to include Blair as part of the treaty, my pack would love to have her" he joked and my mate glowered at him. I laughed. "Thanks for the compliment but I think that my mate would prefer to keep me," I said, turning and kissing him on the lips to placate him.

Braedon hummed and I calmly turned back and signed the document. Alpha Cody looked disappointed.

"You don't happen to have a sister do you" he asked in all seriousness. If you are not reading this novel on J obnib.com, some sentences are incomplete. I shook my head "Damn. I guess I'm doomed to disappointment. You're very lucky to have such an incredible mate. I wish we could all be so lucky" he commented and I was shocked to see even James in agreement.

"There's nothing special about me" I protested, as my mate's arms wrapped tightly around me in a show of possessiveness "And when you find your mate, I'm sure you're going to absolutely love her guys."

They just shook their heads slowly. I felt a pang for them.

"You are definitely one of a kind Luna Blair" Alpha Cody said sadly, getting up to shake my mate's hand, James's, and mine "I wish you both well" he added, my mate nodding slowly.

"I wish you a safe journey back to your pack Alpha Cody" my mate rumbled.

"I appreciate that."

There was a knock on the door and we all turned to it in surprise. Who would dare to knock on the door while there was a meeting between the Alpha King and another Alpha in progress? This person had some nerve or was very stupid. I hoped it wasn't Julia. "Who is it?" called out King Braedon tersely.

"It's Liandra, Your Highness, I wish to have a word with you and Alpha Cody if I may, before Alpha Cody goes back to the pack."

Braedon met Alpha Cody's eyes, the man gave a subtle nod. "Come in," my mate said with a sigh.

The woman strode in, dressed in a short, tight-fitting black dress that clung to her frame, again leaving little to the imagination. She had a small smile on her face. I rolled my eyes and wriggled slightly on Braedon's lap, causing him to give a small groan, Alpha Cody gritting his teeth and James looking nonchalant.

"Liandra, what do we owe the pleasure of this visit?" Alpha Cody asked a little coldly.

Liandra gave him a snarly look. I blinked. There was something immeasurably dislikable about this woman. I didn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

"My circumstances have changed and I wish to remain here, instead of going back home" she drawled looking strangely confident that her request would be granted.

Alpha Cody narrowed his eyes, but it was my mate who spoke, his voice thunderous and a little terse "What makes you think that I would offer such a thing to someone like you, who had the audacity to offend my mate?"

Liandra blinked, looking a little taken aback, but she still looked cocky. She had something up her sleeve, I realized, looking at her. Otherwise, she wouldn't look so damn arrogant. Even Alpha Cody was eyeing her suspiciously.

"Like I stated, circumstances have changed," she said very slowly, her voice shrill "and you cannot deny my request King Braedon, no matter how much you wish to."

That was the wrong thing to say. My mate's shoulders drew back and he let out a ferocious snarl that had me leaning back. He gripped me around the waist, keeping me firmly on his lap. "Speak wisely, before I decide that ending your life would be worth more than suffering your stupidity" he advised her silkily.

Alpha Cody just shook his head at the naive woman. Liandra coughed. "I have met my mate at your pack King Braedon," she said gleefully "and as per the laws, I have every right to remain at the pack that my mate resides." Silence.

"Is he an Alpha?" I asked quietly.

She looked at me, confused. "What happened to my mate will be an Alpha or I will be an Alpha's chosen mate" I pressed, not giving her an inch "Those were your exact words this morning, were they not? It seems awfully convenient that you've managed to miraculously find your mate and change your mind within what constitutes a measly few hours."

My voice was dripping with contempt. Alpha Cody was also eyeing Liandra with darkened eyes. James was carefully blocking the door in case she tried to make a run for it.

"My mate is right, you did say that at breakfast," King Braedon said quietly, c*****g his head and viewing Liandra carefully "So what has changed? Why would you be accepting of a mate that by your own words is inferior and not worthy of you?" She swallowed hard, anticipating that she needed to be very careful of her next words. She rubbed her throat, looking towards Alpha Cody for assistance but he regarded her with cold eyes. He wasn't about to offer her any help. In fact, he looked like he wanted to rip her head off. There was no love lost here.
