The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 100
Chapter 100
Callum appeared somewhat surprised and then turned his head, calling out, "Hugo, come here and explain what's going on."
To Warren's surprise, Hugo was there, too. He felt a sinking feeling in his gut.
Out of all the connections he had, the most influential person he could reach was Thomas. The others wouldn't even get the chance to step through the door, let alone strike up a conversation with Callum.
Sure enough, Hugo walked up to Warren, who had just started to stand. Without any warning, Hugo kicked him squarely in the chest, sending him stumbling back.
His face was icy as he said, "Warren? I gave you a chance, didn't I? I said by sunset, and clearly, you failed to deliver. Just wait-within a week, your company will be done for."
Even Thomas hadn't expected Hugo to act so brazenly, completely ignoring his presence. Warren was, after all, his guest, and in normal circumstances, even the most disrespectful people would think twice before acting out in front of their host.
"Enough! Let him go!" Callum finally barked, his tone switching to a more diplomatic one as he turned to Thomas with a smile.
"Thomas, please don't be offended. My son has been spoiled rotten by his mother. Hugo, apologize to Mr. Camden, now."
Hugo grudgingly lifted his foot and, with a much more subdued expression, turned to
Thomas.
"Mr. Camden, I'm sorry. I wasn't aiming this at you-it's just that Warren crossed the line.
Now fully aware of the father-and-son act, Thomas realized they'd never intended to give him any real respect. They'd played the classic good cop, bad cop routine, showing him just enough courtesy to avoid an outright conflict but clearly not taking him seriously. "Humph! Things are never as simple as they seem. Mr. Quinton, let's go.

Humiliated and enraged, Warren followed Thomas out, not even bothering to wipe the footprint from his chest.
He had never been treated like this in his entire life, and to have it come from someone younger was unbearable.
"Thomas is amusing." Callum sneered after they left, patting Hugo on the shoulder. "His connections are impressive, no doubt, but he's got nothing to do with me. And yet, he still dares to come here and ask for favors? Looks like age hasn't done his brain any favors. 1/2 +25 BONUS
"Do whatever it takes. You must marry Wendy. It's crucial to our family's plan. Anyone who tries to intervene had better think twice."
"I understand, Dad."
After dropping Warren off at home, Thomas, who was still fuming, immediately called Wendy.
""Mr. Camden?"
"Wendy, there's something you need to know.
After listening to what Thomas had to tell her, Wendy was shocked.
"What? Hugo is trying to kick Felix out of Avesburgh? And he's targeting Warren, too?"
Wendy was well aware of the complex relationship between Felix and Warren. Though they seemed to have severed ties on the surface, she knew that Felix still cared in his own way. Could Hugo really be so blind to this? "Thank you for telling me, Mr. Camden. I'll take care of it," she said before hanging up.
Wendy's mind was racing as she paced in the living room. Vincent noticed her agitation and frowned.
"What's the matter?"
Still undecided, Wendy knew she couldn't handle this alone. She turned to Vincent for help, explaining the situation.
After hearing everything, Vincent's face darkened.
"Is Hugo out of his mind? Here's what we'll do. Tomorrow, you and I will visit Callum ourselves. Since this whole mess involves you, it's best if we resolve it directly. It will also give us a chance to explain things to Dr. Zeller." Wendy nodded, relieved that Vincent was on board. But a sense of guilt still weighed heavily on her.
"I just hope Hugo can be reasoned with. If not, things could get messy once Felix has to step in." Today's Bonus Offer
