Lying flat on the bed, Felix responded, "Does it really matter?"
Yvonne was at a loss for words, unsure how to answer. Without specific instructions from Nala, she didn't dare speak further.
"Rest well. I will take my leave," she said softly
As she reached the door, Felix's voice followed, "Soon, I'll have my answer. When the time comes, I want to hear what you truly feel in your heart."
Yvonne gripped the door handle tightly and left him with a final parting remark before closing the door. "I hope you find happiness in your life. As for my answer-you'll never get it.
Without dwelling on it, Felix picked up his phone and saw a missed call from an unknown number. He immediately dialed back, only to discover it was a disconnected line.
Just a few seconds later, another call from a different number came in. He picked up, and he heard Gerald's voice.
"You little brat. You're not even picking up your mentor's calls now?" Gerald chided. Felix sighed, exasperated. Older people always had different phone numbers. He was already doing well by constantly answering those calls.
He explained, "Mr. Hoffman, there was a bit of an incident during the challenge with the Gunerians."
After listening, Gerald's tone turned cold. "They tried to play tricks, didn't they? And they had the nerve to mess with me? Don't worry about it. I'll make sure certain people learn their lesson. That bastard, the Warlord of Thunder, is getting ahead of himself." There weren't many people in the world who dared to call the Warlord of Thunder a
bastard.
Felix began, "Alright. Since that's taken care of
Before Felix could finish his sentence, Gerald hung up abruptly, leaving him so frustrated he nearly smashed his phone.
Meanwhile, Yvonne returned to the mansion in Yartford. The estate had a white tower for female guardians to practice their techniques.
Although it was late at night, the tower's lights were still on. After hesitating for a long time, Yvonne finally decided to enter.

"Has Felix caught your fancy? You're only coming back now," teased Nala, who sat cross-legged with her eyes closed.
Though her tone exhibited a hint of playfulness, she remained calm and composed.
Startled, Yvonne quickly explained, "Miss, it's not what you think. When I found Felix, he had collapsed and was unconscious. I didn't dare bring him directly here, so I took him to a nearby hotel. I only left after confirming he was awake." Nala slowly opened her eyes and looked at Yvonne. "Is that so? Then instruct the staff to prepare for the lunch tomorrow."
Although Felix hadn't made a direct move, the fact that he stood out from the nine young medical talents was impressive enough. That was the reason Nala wanted to meet him. Although there was no grand banquet, it was certainly not casual either. "Wait, did he decline?" she asked, noticing Yvonne's prolonged silence.
"Yes, miss. He refused. He said he'd return to Avesburgh at dawn."
"Let him be, then," Nala directed.
At that moment, someone entered the room without a word. Yet, it seemed Nala already knew who it was.
"Let him in. The rest of you, leave."
As Yvonne exited the room, she noticed a figure approaching. The person was wearing a black cloak with their head concealed beneath a hood.
Yvonne wondered who it was. Nala had never dismissed her for another guest before.
The identity of anyone Nala met privately was always a closely guarded secret, but this was the first time Yvonne had witnessed such a strange interaction.
As the door closed behind the mysterious guest, the hooded figure removed his hood and immediately began speaking.
"Lady Nala, have you thought over what I proposed? This time, those people abroad have agreed to everything."
If Felix were present, he would have been utterly baffled. The man addressing Nala was none other than Yale Jones, the former vice leader of Dragon Alliance, the very person who had stolen his Dragon Ring.
