Around six in the evening, Felix was sitting in his courtyard when Kane walked in. "What brings you here?" Felix asked.

Kane's expression showed the same respect as always. Just like Vivian, Felix was the only Dragon Lord in his eyes and no one else. "Mr. Zeller, since you finally gave me a task, I had to report back personally."

That was true. After Vivian left, Kane was Felix's go-to person for intel. But he had not expected Kane to show up in person. "I appreciate it. Have a seat."

Once he sat down, Kane got straight to it. "You told me to look into that guy Jaden. Turns out he's quite the player. He's the youngest elder in Crimson Sage Sect's history. His mentor is one of their sect's Supreme Elders too, and he's actually the oldest and strongest amongst them."

Crimson Sage Sect? Felix was unfazed. "So he's got an ancient mentor backing him. That'll be a bit of a hassle."

By hassle, Felix meant time-wasting instead of fear. Even Kane could read that much. "How do you rate our chances if Dragon Alliance fights against their sect?" Felix asked.

Kane furrowed his brow. He thought carefully before answering, "Honestly, we don't stand any chance against them! We've got them beat on reputation. But in terms of raw power, we'd get crushed unless you or the founder stepped in."

He felt safe being blunt as he knew Felix would prefer the truth. Crimson Sage Sect was top-tier and was packed with master arts masters. Jaden, for example, was already a Martial King at his age.

Truth was, Dragon Alliance would have been the more powerful one. But their founder had. not been seen in ages. Most groups only left them alone out of lingering fear of that founder, nothing more. "Got it." Felix did not care about the hidden politics. Jaden had to be killed. Playing games with him had already cost two lives, so he was clearly ruthless. Why wait to take him out?

But it would have to wait until after he dealt with the Miracle Card's matter tomorrow. Time was tight and of the essence.

"Do you want me to have someone track Jaden's movements? To keep an eye on him 24/7?

'Kane asked.

Felix shook his head and said, "There's no need for that. He's a Martial King. Who could you possibly hire that could tail him without getting spotted?" Kane was speechless. He had not thought it through. Of course, any of his people trying to

"Oh, Vivian has just been promoted to Dragon Lord. She's still young, so she's bound to miss things. You should help her out as a senior"

Kane nodded. "Count on it. Who else would I support? Actually, thank you for giving her the chance. That girl has integrity, among all other things"

The next morning, Felix was driving to Canraville. He spotted a Porsche Cayenne pulled over near the highway entrance with the hazard lights on. A woman was leaning against it, seeming to wait for someone. Felix pulled over and got out. "Vanessa? What are you doing here?"

Sure enough, it was Jack's girlfriend. What a coincidence.
