The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection
Billionaire With Husband 349

Chapter 349

Half an hour later, a group of men arrived at the scene, each exuding a fierce, battle- hardened demeanor. It was clear they were experienced combat veterans.

"Captain Hill, punish me as you see fit," the first man said with his head bowed low. "I failed to protect Ms. Hill."

The man who commanded such respect appeared to be in his 40s, with a square jaw and a cross-shaped scar on his forehead. His cold gaze alone was enough to send a shiver down anyone's spine.

Alistair replied, "It's not your fault. Yara has been suicidal for a while now. She must have used her inner energy for that burst of movement, despite her condition. You couldn't have kept up. Did her trace disappear here?"

The man nodded. "Yes, she could be nearby or much further away."

Thanks to his unique practice, he could track a person's scent as long as they did not leave a certain radius.

Alistair bit his finger until it bled and began murmuring something. His men's faces paled at this action, and one spoke up urgently. "Captain Hill! Your injuries haven't fully healed -using the Blood Tracking technique could permanently damage your foundation!" Alistair ignored the warnings-everyone knew how much Yara Hill meant to him.

"I found her! Someone masked her presence. That's why the trail vanished. Let's go!"

Felix, who had just gone downstairs of his newly purchased Serenity Manor, was about to get a drink of water when his front door was kicked open. Immediately after, a group of men stormed in.

"Seize him!" Felix frowned but did not resist as two men grabbed his arms.

Soon after, Alistair came downstairs carrying the woman Felix had just treated. "You're a martial artist. Why did you mask my sister's presence?"

Alistair's eyes gleamed dangerously, though he maintained some restraint after seeing Yara was unharmed.

"I just treated her. Anyway, I don't appreciate you breaking into my home, so get out!"

One of the men holding Felix barked, "How dare you! Do you know who you're talking to? This is Commander Alistair Hill of the Wolfie troops. Do you want to go to prison?"

Felix remained stern. "I don't care who you are. I've broken no laws-you're the ones who broke down my door, and now you're trying to play the victim?"

Suddenly, something occurred to Alistair. "Check Yara's condition," he ordered urgently.

The only man in civilian clothes stepped forward to check her pulse. He was clearly a doctor. After a moment, his eyes widened in shock.

"This is impossible, Captain Hill! Ms. Hill's pulse is better than ever-she seems completely healed! Dr. Grayson said she wasn't supposed to survive another use of her inner energy for more than three days, but now... I can't explain this!"

This was exactly what Alistair had suspected. Though not a doctor himself, as a powerful martial artist, he knew Yara had used her energy with suicidal intent. Yet when he held her, her breathing was steady, nothing like someone at death's door.

"You can't explain it, but someone can," Alistair said. He gently placed Yara on the couch and walked over to Felix, signaling his men to release him.

To Felix's astonishment, the commander of the Wolfie troops dropped to both knees before him.
