The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 373
Chapter 373
The note read, "I challenge you on behalf of the Elders' Council. On the night of the full moon, atop Eastern Mountain. I will await you!
Beneath that, the note was signed with the name "Solomon Gill".
Looking at those words on the note, Felix felt somewhat baffled.
"Felix, I'm so sorry... I've let you down." Vivian apologized repeatedly, disregarding her own injuries. It was her first major task since becoming Dragon Lord, and it had ended in failure. She felt terrible for this setback. "Don't take it to heart. This Solomon is at least at the level of a Martial Saint. It makes sense you couldn't match him," Felix said dismissively.
The enemy had managed to injure Vivian and all the Dragon Alliance guards without even being seen. That said enough about his capability. Felix had reacted quickly, but by the time he came out, the person was gone. "Have you ever heard of the Elders' Council?" he asked.
Vivian shook her head. "No, and as far as I know, there's no such organization in Dragonia.
Images of Karina flashed in Felix's mind, and her past words echoed in his ears.
Could it be that Gerald's past enemies were coming back?
Regardless, he still had seven days until the full moon. Overthinking it now would lead to nowhere.
"Felix, I'll arrange to have more personnel from Dragon Alliance stationed here," Vivian
offered.
But Felix waved her off, striding back toward the pit.
"Your injuries aren't bad, so just keep them under control for now. Continue the guard as it is now. The person will not return again."
It was clear that Solomon had no idea why Felix was there. He had simply come to issue the challenge and leave the note.
Since the Dragonspine technique didn't seem to be their target, Felix was less concerned.
Still, he couldn't ignore the threat posed by the Elders' Council. Their first strike had impressed him. They were no ordinary organization.
By sunset, Felix emerged from the pit. After treating Vivian and the others' injuries, he left Yardley Dining.

Chapter 373
Switching his phone back on, he saw several missed calls from Xena. After a moment's hesitation, he decided not to return the calls. They didn't have much to say anyway.
As he got into his car, however, his phone rang again.
"Felix! Do people still turn off their phones? Do you know how many times I've tried calling you?"Xena shouted.
Felix was irritated. "Do I owe you an explanation for turning my phone off?"
"I don't want to argue, and it's not like I like calling you. Just come to my house for dinner. My grandfather wants to video chat. Once you've done that, you can go wherever you want. 11
Felix could hardly refuse an invitation from Curtis, who had always been supportive of him.
When he arrived at Xena's home, a few dishes were set on the table, but it was obvious they were just takeout.
"You really went all out, didn't you?" he mocked dryly.
"I'm about to call, so you'd better act properly or else Grandpa will start nagging. If I have to suffer, you're not getting off easy either," Xena snapped.
Once the video call connected, Felix put on a smile. "Hello, Mr. Summers Senior."
They chatted for a while, and then Curtis teasingly said, "Felix, is my granddaughter's cooking not to your liking? I don't see you eating. Your bowl is so clean. There's not a drop of oil in it." Caught off guard, Felix quickly grabbed his fork and picked up some food. "Not at all, Mr. Summers Senior. I just got carried away chatting with you. Xena's cooking is excellent." But a flicker of realization crossed his eyes, and he paused for a moment. Xena, who was holding the phone, tensed up as well.
Thankfully, Felix took the bite anyway and smiled. "See? It's delicious."
