The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection
Billionaire With Husband 399

Chapter 399

Everyone had left, but the members of Crimson Sage Sect remained rooted to the spot. Felix's final words echoed in their minds like thunder even after a long time.

"Mr. Black, could he use these master healers' connections against our sect?"

Jaden was the most devastated of all. Felix had not moved a muscle throughout the ordeal, yet Jaden had been forced to release him. It was a thousand times more humiliating than being defeated in combat.

Cecil looked at him with disappointment in his eyes. "I've always told you to be vigilant and consider every angle. If you had properly investigated Felix's actual background, would our sect be in such an embarrassing position now?"

After this incident, Crimson Sage Sect would definitely be blacklisted by those master healers in Dragonia. Not only that, Cecil had to use up Silas' favor. He had really lost big time

Jaden hung his head low, not daring to speak. He had miscalculated this time. Though his

fellow apprentices did not dare say anything, their eyes flickered with reproach.

"Don't worry. Master healers usually stay out of worldly affairs and conflicts. Coming to save Felix was already their limit. They won't lend their connections for further trouble. But just to be safe, stay within the sect for now. Don't wander around outside," Cecil instructed.

As Cecil turned away, Jaden could not help asking, "What about Xena, Mr. Black?"

"We'll discuss that another time!"

In Canraville, a car pulled up to Felix's home at New Glory.

"Thank you." Looking at Xena, Felix had much to say but managed only those two words.

"Don't feel burdened by what happened. This is nothing compared to what you've done for me! Felix, I only hope that you'll consider our engagement when my grandfather's deadline comes."

Felix gave a bitter smile. "Some of your earlier views were right. Social standing does matter sometimes. I'm just an ordinary person with some medical skills now. Am I really worthy of you?"

But Xena smiled, and her eyes shone with sincerity. "I can't help who I fell for, and I never run from things I'm certain about. Silas said that while you might not be a master healer now, you could still be a renowned doctor. That's enough."

This woman was truly unpredictable. Felix was at a loss for words. "Alright, let's both give our honest answers when the deadline comes then.'

Once inside, Felix held his phone while thinking about what the four master healers had said. He assumed they had come because of Xena. But judging by her surprised and delighted reaction, that did not seem to be the case.

After asking around, he discovered something unexpected. Yvonne was the one who managed to get them to arrive on time. Coupled with the fact that Jack had been present when he was taken, it was logical that Yvonne would know immediately. Dialing her number, he got only a "powered off message. After a few attempts with the same result, Felix shook his head. He realized Yvonne had probably blocked him. Was this considered her silent farewell after helping him out one last time? There was nothing he could do but try to reach her through Jack later. This was a debt of gratitude he would not forget.
