The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 408
Chapter 408
Setting aside everything else, everyone knew Gerald's apprentice would need to have exceptional medical skills. At his young age, Felix had never met anyone else who could claim the title of master healer, which made it too easy to spot an imposter.
However, someone of Ryan's status did not seem like they would be easily fooled. So, Felix asked, "Do you know Dr. Hoffman's apprentice?"
Ryan shook his head again. "No, but I can take you to meet him. It'll be up to you to make an impression because they won't do it as a favor to me.
"All I can do is tell them how you risked everything to save those kids. With a healer's compassionate heart and seeing how many master healers support you, I believe Dr. Hoffman's apprentice might be moved too."
Felix finally understood that Ryan had also been deceived. For the sake of Gerald's reputation, Felix knew he had to meet this impostor.
'Alright, I'll go with you,' "Felix agreed.
Ryan stood up and waved dismissively. "I'll let you know when. Remember, you only get one chance."
After Ryan left, Felix immediately called George, who chuckled sadly after hearing the story. "Don't even get me started about him, Felix. That guy does whatever he wants-he's completely unpredictable!
"Last year, Ryan rushed over when he heard about a teacher who devoted their life to helping underprivileged kids in a rural community and was about to retire. He rebuilt the school, bought homes in Yartford for the teacher's children, and even arranged their residency permits!" Felix wondered if Ryan was truly just kindhearted.
"Don't get it twisted-he's no saint. Remember how he cursed you out last time?" George continued. "That same year, when a disabled beggar asked him for help, he didn't give a penny and actually blinded the person. He never paid a dime in compensation. So tell me, is he good or bad?"
Felix was speechless, unsure how to judge Ryan's character anymore. Early the next morning, he had planned to eat breakfast with Jack, but his main goal was to call Yvonne. He had tried again, only to find that she still had him blocked.
The breakfast spot was not far from Felix's neighborhood, so he decided to walk there. As he stepped out, he saw Michelle waiting at the gate with some packages. "Michelle? Have you been waiting long?" he asked.
Though it was obviously a lie, Michelle quickly smiled and said, "No, I just got here."
"Come on, join me for breakfast," Felix offered.
Michelle set her packages down in the yard and bowed sincerely to Felix. "Felix, thank you for changing my life! I'm now the company's general manager.
"It feels like a dream, but I know you must have helped make it happen. After all, things like that don't happen out of nowhere, so I came specifically to thank you."
Felix chuckled. "No need for formalities. I was just helping with whatever I could. Besides, you really do remind me of my sister. I guess that's fate."
After Michelle left, Felix arrived at the breakfast spot where Jack was already halfway through his meal
"Order whatever you want. I drank too much last night, and I'm starving!" Jack said between bites.
Felix ordered a few items and reached out his hand. "Give me your phone. I need to call Yvonne. She blocked me."
Jack looked puzzled but handed over his phone without question. After a few rings, the call connected. Hearing Yvonne's familiar voice again gave Felix an odd sense of nostalgia. "What is it?" Yvonne asked.
