The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 411
Chapter 411
Solomon took a sip of his drink and laughed. "How could I possibly guess what the higher-ups are thinking? I just do what I'm told. Besides, isn't Dr. Hoffman's apprentice human too?"
Ryan felt a chill at Solomon's words, considering Gerald's reputation was enough to make anyone think twice before making a move. He had known Solomon for a long time; Solomon's family was powerful, but the man was simply obsessed with martial arts. Solomon showed no interest in money or women. Instead, he would follow anyone who could make him stronger. While Ryan had never heard of the Elders' Council before, he knew they were definitely not a simple bunch of people.
"Mr. Gill, do you think Dr. Hoffman's apprentice will agree?" Ryan asked uncertainly.
Solomon shook his head. "How would I know what he's thinking when I've never met him? But since you've spoken so highly of him, I'll allow you to make an introduction. I must say, I admire anyone who would risk themselves to save those poor orphans." Ryan laughed, bowing slightly. In some ways, he and Solomon were alike. Just then, they heard movement, and Ryan turned to see Felix emerging from the woods with a dark expression. "Who told you to come out? You-" Ryan quickly turned to explain to Solomon, "This is the person I told you about. He doesn't know the rules well, Mr. Gill, please don't mind." Solomon, who was about to take another drink, froze with his flask mid-air. He stared at Felix with an odd expression and asked, "This is the man you admire?" Ryan nodded, walking over to Felix. "Go back! How can you be so impatient? Didn't I tell you to wait for my signal?"
"Let's skip it. I'm in a hurry," Felix replied.
Before Ryan could respond, Solomon jumped down from the rock and put away his flask. "If it's him, then Ryan, you can leave. Even Dr. Hoffman's apprentice can't save him." Ryan frowned. "Mr. Gill, isn't that too hasty? At least have Dr. Hoffman's apprentice take a look at him!"
Solomon chuckled and shook his head. "Because he's Dr. Hoffman's apprentice. We could've avoided this ridiculous misunderstanding if you had mentioned his name earlier." Ryan's eyes widened as he stared at Felix. "Y-You're Dr. Hoffman's apprentice?" At this point, Felix had nothing left to hide. "Yes, I am Dr. Hoffman's apprentice." Ryan stumbled backward several steps, his face full of disbelief. He never imagined that

Chapter 411
the legendary figure had been so close all along Thinking about the medical skills that even Silas admired, Felix being Gerald's apprentice suddenly did not seem so impossible.
Solomon gave Felix a once-over and twirled his sword before sheathing it with a sharp clink. "I don't fight those who have no power! Since you've lost your abilities, I naturally won't lay a hand on you. I'll report this to the Elders' Council." Surprisingly, Felix laughed as Solomon turned to leave. "Maybe you're not as bad as I thought. Draw your sword. As Dr. Hoffman's apprentice, if I wanted people to believe I'm powerless, no one would be able to tell the difference." "What!" Ryan's hand trembled as he pointed at Felix. "Y-You were pretending?"
Solomon's eyes lit up instantly-after all, this was the legendary Gerald's apprentice, a master of both medicine and martial arts, one of the top rising stars. He had long wanted to exchange skills with such an expert.
