The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection
Billionaire With Husband 450

Chapter 450

But wasn't it a bit too unbelievable?

Fabian, the president of Lionsfield Chamber of Commerce, was a significant figure in Yartford. Otherwise, how could Dylan have spoken to George that way? Yet here he was, treating Felix with the utmost respect and even promising Dylan would no longer speak for life.

Terrance wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't witnessed it himself.

"F-Felix, our family bears some responsibility for what happened," Terrance said again.

His tone was respectful to the extreme. If anyone dared to mistreat his future daughter-in-law, Madeline, he would deal with them himself.

"It's me who should be apologizing for disrupting the engagement," Felix replied.

Sean, who had been anxiously watching, quickly interjected, "Felix, what are you talking about? There was no disturbance at all."

"Exactly! No disturbance! Everything is proceeding as normal."

As the engagement ceremony resumed, George remained silent, deep in thought.

Why would Fabian fear Felix? Logically, someone of Fabian's level shouldn't have any connection to Moonshadow Manor. Could it have been a chance encounter?

No matter what, Fabian's behavior reaffirmed that Felix's ties to Moonshadow Manor were not ordinary. George felt vindicated in his previous judgment-his father would never have believed it.

"Felix, according to our family traditions, I shouldn't drink during the engagement. But since you, Jack, and Vanessa came such a long way, I must make an exception!" Luke raised a wine glass with white liquor. His joy was clear to see.

Beside him, Madeline's eyes were teary. "I would be upset if you refused to drink. They are my best friends-my only friends, really. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call them my family."

Without Felix, she couldn't imagine what her life would have been like. Even if she had met Luke earlier, his family might not have accepted her. Now, she was treated like a queen. "Alright. Let's all drink together!" Felix said.

Jack put his arm around Luke. "Kid, if you ever dare to mistreat Madeline, I'll be the first to come after you."

After the toast, Luke and Madeline joined Felix's table, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Even George let loose, drinking with Jack until his face was flushed red.

"Felix, there's nothing more to say. Cheers!" Madeline sald, sitting next to Felix. She was clearly excited.

"Yeah, cheers! Take care of each other, and when you and Luke have a child, I'll be the godfather," Felix said.

Terrance, who happened to pass by, nearly stumbled with joy upon hearing that. Having Felix as a godfather for his grandchild would elevate the Sanders' status completely. "Great! You said it!" Madeline replied just as she and Felix clinked glasses.

At that moment, Lilian approached, clearly wanting to toast Felix but hesitating

Just as she gathered the courage to speak, a voice sounded, "Lilian, you've got guts, don't you? You dared to get involved in the Starlight incident?"

George glanced at the person, and his expression changed instantly.

He leaned in to whisper to Felix, "The Sanders is doomed. That's Alfie McDonald, Lady Nala's chief steward."
