When they reached the corner, both black and white figures had vanished. However, Felix's lips curled into a slight smile as he muttered, "Well, I'm not going to be the one regretting this." Still carrying Zara, Felix raised his right hand slightly and then brought it down decisively. A thunderous crash echoed through the village, and a deep crater appeared about 300 feet away.

Felix walked to the edge of the crater, gently set Zara down, and turned on his phone's flashlight.

Zara gasped and covered her mouth in horror. Inside the crater lay two men, bloodied and severely injured.

"I knew there were no ghosts-just people playing tricks," Felix said as he crouched down. He continued, "Tell me. What makes two Martial Emperors play ghosts in some abandoned village? And how did you create those ghostly voices?"

The two men paled with fear and stared at Felix as if he were a monster. The fact that a single strike from him had left them in this state spoke volumes about his strength.

When neither of them answered, Felix shrugged and straightened up. "Not saying anything? Fine. Since you love pretending to be ghosts, I'll help you become real ones." He raised his hand again, ready to strike.

The men panicked and screamed, "Please don't! We'll tell you everything, sir!"

Without needing further prompting, they spilled everything. "We were ordered to haunt this village and scare away any strangers. The voices came from special equipment we installed throughout the village-even powerful martial artists can't trace their source." "So, have you been behind the village's haunted reputation for all these decades?" Felix pressed.

The two men exchanged uneasy glances, knowing better than to not tell the truth. They said, "We've only been here six months. We don't know much about the village's past, but this was all on orders from Polaris." Felix's expression darkened at the mention of Polaris.

Before he could ask more, Zara spoke up, her tone serious, "Polaris is a massive martial arts sect in Dragonia, ranked fifth overall. They even hold elder status in the Martial Alliance."

She seemed calmer now that she understood the so-called "ghosts" were just people.

"Let's go handle your business. Someone will take care of this," Felix said. While he knew Martial Alliance would handle this martial arts matter, he left the follow-up to Xena's discretion.

They entered a dark house where an elderly man lay in bed. "He has a strange condition that only shows symptoms at night," Zara explained. "It relates to Mr. Grayson's research, so we visit annually."

Felix studied the man for a moment, his brows furrowed. The condition was indeed unusual-something he had never encountered before. Still, he had no intention of meddling since the patient was under Silas' care. Even though the man was bedridden, the smile on his face suggested that Silas' treatments were helping.

Felix commented, "Mr. Grayson clearly knows the village's true secret. He didn't tell you because he wanted you to overcome your fears on your own."

After all, Silas was already a Martial God, and he could not possibly have missed two Martial Emperors lurking in the village. It seemed likely that there was some sort of agreement in play.

As Zara continued her acupuncture treatment, the sound of helicopters approached. Felix stepped outside and headed back to the crater, knowing the authorities had arrived.
