Chapter 575
"Malcolm Crayden?" Felix asked immediately. Where are you having dinner?"
On the other end of the line, Jack chuckled cheerfully. "Why? Thinking of joining us? Sure, that's why I called you. If you come, my chances of closing this deal will skyrocket!"
After getting the address, Felix wasted no time heading over. He refrained from saying much to Jack, worried that his emotions might give something away to Malcolm and potentially cause unnecessary trouble.
The fact that Malcolm was negotiating with Jack could only mean one thing-it was about Felix. After all, the Crayden family was one of the Eight Great Martial Families. They wouldn't even bat an eye at someone like Wendy or her father, Vincent, let alone sit down with a manager from the Kinsley Group.
At a high-end restaurant in Canraville, Jack raised his wine decanter with a grin.
"Mr. Crayden, your compliments earlier really hit home for me. I'll drink to that!"
Malcolm smiled and nodded, flanked by two stern-looking elderly men who remained silent.
"Mr. Graham, I like your straightforward and bold approach. It's refreshing."
The stakes of this deal were enormous, and Jack had thrown all caution to the wind, even preparing himself mentally to drink until he landed in the hospital.
In Dragonia's business culture, much was achieved over drinks, and Jack understood this
all too well.
"Who would've thought you and Felix are such good brothers? What a small world," Malcolm said.
Jack, sipping tea to ease the effects of the alcohol, quickly responded with a laugh. Exactly! Felix is truly one of a kind. I'm sure you'll agree, Mr. Crayden-it must be fate."
At that moment, the private room's door opened, and Felix walked in, Jack quickly stood
1. up.
"Mr. Crayden, I hope you don't mind. I planned this as a surprise. Felix, come sit over here!
Before Jack could say more, Felix grabbed Jack's arm and turned to Malcolm.
"He's had too much to drink. How about I stay and take his place?" Felix suggested.
Malcolm's smile deepened, carrying a hint of intrigue. "Sure, I never insist. And Mr. Graham has indeed had his share.

Jack, unfazed, leaned in to whisper to Felix, "Do your best. If this deal falls through, you'll be buying me drinks every day!"
After apologizing to Malcolm, Jack left the room, and Felix finally sat down.
"Luckily, my friend's fine. Otherwise, I wouldn't have taken a seat with you," Felix stated firmly.
Earlier, Felix had discreetly checked Jack-there were no signs of injuries, poison, or any other harm.
Malcolm let out a soft laugh. "I haven't sunk so low as to forget that families are off-limits.
Felix frowned. "Then what's the meaning of all this?"
Malcolm idly traced patterns on his plate with his cutlery before replying. "I was hungry and thought we could share a meal. I figured you'd show up on your own, saving me the trouble of reaching out." Seeing Malcolm's smugness at being right, Felix couldn't help but chuckle. "Interesting. I thought our business was already settled."
Malcolm shook his head with a sigh.
"Honestly, Felix, your composure is remarkable. It's a shame you're not an actor. A cast-off from the Greene family, yet you fooled me, Malcolm Crayden? Impressive."
Though his tone seemed casual, Malcolm's anger was boiling over. As the proud young master of the Crayden family, one of the Eight Great Martial Families, he was accustomed to deference and respect. Yet here he was, chasing after someone from Canraville's small fry, only to be sent packing in disgrace.
