The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 578
Chapter 578
Anyone could see the striking resemblance between the two men. From their appearances, it was clear they were father and son.
Victor's eyes
welled up with tears. He would have preferred Felix to yell or curse at him irrationally. His calm attitude hurt more because it meant Felix saw him as a stranger. He could not even hate Victor. "I'm happy enough to have met you before I die."
Victor pulled something from his pocket, and Felix's expression instantly changed. However, he had suspected it, seeing and feeling the item before he confirmed it. The thing in Victor's hands was the real Dragonspine. "It's yours now, my child." Felix accepted the Dragonspine. He planned to cultivate it after heading back.
"I'm leaving then," Felix said.
"Do you really have nothing to say to me?"
Felix stopped and laughed. "What should I say? Should I ask why you'd have a child you wouldn't raise? Or how could you do something so heartless? Maybe I should punch you, shouldn't I?
"None of those words matter anymore." For a child, nothing could be more tragic than being born to parents who had no intention of raising you. Felix was abandoned without hesitation.
Felix was lucky to have found good adoptive parents and a kind mentor, but what about other children like him? How many of them fell prey to traffickers or were adopted by cruel people? Some did not even survive past infancy. That was why Felix felt no guilt about how he was treating his biological father. Tears fell from Victor's eyes as he watched his son's retreating back.
"Your mother..." Those words made Felix stumble a little, but he kept walking. "You'll meet your mother one day. When that time comes, perhaps you'll forgive me after I die."
Mother? Forgiveness? That day would never come.
After a while, a knock interrupted Victor's thoughts. "Come in."
Asher entered and walked straight over. "Uncle Victor, this kid doesn't know what's good for him. Just let me tell him the truth. Even the little bit of information I know would be enough for you two to reconcile." Victor shook his head and said, "Though I never raised my own son, one thing is clear from

our interaction just now. He's exactly like his mother. Even if you told him, it wouldn't help recover anything."
Asher could only give up with a bitter smile. "Lady Nala is here. Shall I let her in?"
"Yeah."
Asher left as Nala entered, his heart heavy, knowing that Victor's dying wish could not be fulfilled. He felt sorry that he could not help as his nephew.
"Uncle Victor, it seems things didn't go as planned from the look on your face," Nala said.
Victor beckoned her closer. "Come over. I'll keep my promise. Whatever happens, thanks for getting him to meet me."
Nala stepped forward and said, "I'm not a child. I didn't actually help much; it was the message you told me to send him that helped. Even if I didn't ask, you'd tell me the identity of Felix's mother, wouldn't you?" Without further words, Victor motioned for Nala to lean down and whispered, "She's..."
After hearing her name, Nala straightened abruptly. Her eyes were filled with unprecedented shock. "That's Felix's biological mother? You... must be joking." Today's Bonus Offer
