Felix whirled around to look. The seat beside him had been empty as it was t third-generation Grandmaster of Moonshadow Alliance, Christie. Now, someone sat there. He would not have noticed if it had not been for George's dramatic reaction. But this seemed impossible. With Felix's capabilities, he should have noticed someone approaching so close even without actively sensing it. And yet...

"Karina?" Felix was dumbfounded. The person suddenly sitting beside him was his fellow apprentice Karina.

George and Ryan were too shocked by her sudden appearance to notice how casually he was addressing her, or they would have asked questions. After all, they were martial artists too, and they had not seen her arrive.

"What? Are you not happy to see me?" Karina was dressed casually today. She was wearing light blue jeans and a yellow T-shirt with her hair tied up.

"Of course I am. I was just quite surprised," Felix said.

Upon seeing them chatting with each other, the other two realized Felix and Karina knew each other. As their thoughts shifted, they started ogling at her beauty.

They could not help it. After all, Karina's beauty and presence would captivate any man at first glance.

"Mr. Zeller, do you know each other?" George and Ryan became even more polite, wishing they had a mirror to check their appearance.

"Yes, she's-"

Karina cut in before Felix could finish. "I'm his godsister."

Felix caught her meaningful glance and sighed. Right, Gerald had forbidden revealing their true relationship.

"Hello, Ms. Karina!" George and Ryan immediately stood and bowed to Karina.

"Nice to meet you. Please sit."

As they struggled internally, Karina began speaking to Felix via telepathy. "I was handling something in Yartford. Dahlia asked me to come since something came up at Moonshadow Alliance, and the Grandmaster you specified couldn't make it."

So that was the reason. He had thought Christie would actually dare to stand him up. "Did Dahlia even tell you what this was about before sending you?"

"She did. She said it was to attend some birthday party, though I didn't bring a gift."

Speechless, Felix rolled his eyes. This was typical of Eloise, Dahlia, and Karina anyway. Among his nine fellow apprentices, these three were the most diligent and powerful. Before he could respond, an unwelcome voice interrupted, "George! Where's Lady Grey? Did you say something inappropriate?"

Victoria had appeared, along with Dominic and Reginald. Their wine glasses suggested they had come to toast. It was understandable since Pearly's status warranted being the first to receive toasts. "No, she went to take a call."

Dominic's expression darkened. "How dare you still make excuses? You clearly need a good lesson. Don't you agree, Reginald?"

What could Reginald do while under pressure? He could not fight against his older brother in the first place. And now, with the Council involved, he could only swallow his anger. George, apologize to Lady Grey later!" Then he noticed the new person beside Felix and quickly changed topics, "Mr. Zeller, who is this?"

He guessed she was from Moonshadow Alliance, but it hardly mattered now. They could not possibly outrank the Council. He just wanted to stop Dominic from causing more trouble for his son and friend.
